My NEW Store & My OLD(er) House!

Standard

Happy Thursday everyone!  I had a great day yesterday and I hope all of you did too………my day was great because my Mom was home almost all day (after she went grocery shopping that is), and I had an abundance of lap time available to me.  That’s certainly not ALWAYS the case.

Mom did some stuff on her computer in the studio for a while but as you know, I have the amazing ability (wink) to talk her into making a nice “nest” for me on the studio couch with the afghan which is the perfect spot to nap and keep an eye on her at the same time.    Being NEAR my Mom is almost (but not quite) as good as being on her lap.

She was working  little bit on my new store.  I hope you’ve taken a peek at it since it opened?  There’s a link at the bottom right of my HOME page here on the blog but here it is anyway:

http://www.cafepress.com/pamandsam

We’ve got all kinds of Sam-related stuff there and soon my Mom will be loading up some of her artwork to make it available on notecards – kind of like she has on her website now only instead of HER doing all the work, Cafepress will do all the work!  Tee Hee….

We’d love for you to let us know if there’s some special item you can think of that you’d like seeing in the store that’s not already there.  Cafepress offers lots of things that can be personalized so my adorable face can appear on almost anything!!!!  Anyway, if you DO have a suggestion, we’d like to hear it.

My Dad went flying yesterday and tried to take some pictures of our house which isn’t easy when you don’t have your “Co-Pilot” (my Mom) with you so they didn’t turn out.  BUT I thought you might like to see this older photo taken in the Fall from the cockpit which is a view over top of our house in our development……at least you can see where we live!

Our house as seen from our airplane

Cool huh?

This lets you see what I’m talking about when I talk about my “woods” – that swath of trees behind our house is “my” woods and there’s a creek running along it that dumps into the little lake.   See that house almost in the middle of the picture that’s close to the lake?  Mom and Dad ALMOST bought that lot and built a house on it…..but they changed their mind and got the lot that’s two houses UP from that house…..there’s a row of green blobs along our driveway – bradford pear trees actually.  That’s my little corner of the world and it’s the only house I’ve ever lived in.  Of course I share my world with all of you every single day but now you can picture me in that little speck of a house helping Mom post about the world of Sammy the Ginger Cat.  Have a great day everybody!Hugs all around……………..Sammy

Blogaversary – One Week Away!

Standard

Sam on Mom's Recliner

Hi everybody!  Know what one week from today is?  It will be my one year blogaversary celebration.  Yep – I started blogging on May 10, 2011.  I can’t believe it….seems like yesteray.

I have so many friends and followers now from all over the world and it’s been so much fun getting to know ALL of you.  I feel like you’re all my FAMILY and not just my friends.

So here’s my plan for the celebration.  I’ll be having a contest – an easy one that if you enter, you’re automatically eligible to win the prize.  Mom is going to put everyone’s name in a drawing and the winner is going to get a “Surprise Box” full of goodies.  The goodies will be pretty cool too and I can give you a couple of hints about that:

  • There will be something for YOU and for your peeps as well
  • One of the things in the surprise box will be an item from my soon to be finished store on Cafepress

Now that’s enough hints…….a surprise box means a SURPRISE box!  So I’m not telling anything else for now.  You’ll just have to mark your calendar to be sure and visit me May 10th for details on the contest AND the prize.

Cool huh?  I wouldn’t have been here a year if it weren’t for all of you so please make sure and stop by for refreshments (huh?) and fun next Thursday.  It will be……………..

Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Golly.  I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for having received yet another blogging award from my super good friend Dianna at These Days of Mine.  The Very Inspiring Blogger Award is very elegant looking too, don’t you think?  Mostly I find it just plain wonderful that somebody thinks my little blog is worthy of ANY awards but I do like thinking maybe I might be inspiring to someone too!

Miss Dianna (and she’s the Mom of my “girlfriend” Sundae you know!) had to answer seven questions as a condition of award acceptance after someone awarded this pretty award to HER……and because the award was given to me AND my Mom (!) we’ll BOTH answer the questions:

I’m Most Creative……

  • (SAM) When I’m asleep….my arms/legs/face are very twitchy so who knows WHAT I’m creating in my dreams!
  • (MOM) When I’m in my studio (I’m either painting/drawing or blogging!)

If I Were A Color, I’d Be…..

  • (SAM) Green
  • (MOM) Lavender

I Often imagine Myself…..

  • (SAM) Flying around to visit all my blog buddies in my private jet
  • (MOM) With a house full of cats….sometimes Sam seems like a house full though…..!

I Really Wish I Knew How To…..

  • (SAM) Fly like a birdie
  • (MOM) Age gracefully instead of kicking and screaming my way through it!

I’d Love To Spend A Lazy Sunday…..

  • (SAM) In a sun puddle on the front porch
  • (MOM) On a gondola ride in Venice (tee hee)

I’m Most Excited About…..

  • (SAM) Butter….no….Bacon….no…..Butter……no…..Bacon!
  • (MOM) Taking another vacation to France next spring

My Secret Talent Is…..

  • (SAM) Whistling (my Mom says sometimes when I snore it sounds like a whistle!)
  • (MOM) Being a sounding board for people with problems

So folks, there you have it.  Our answers to those seven burning questions!  Also, I want to pass this award on to some of my friends…I know not everybody wants to “bother” with these things but if you decide not to do the questions OR post the award, that’s OK.  I understand!!

Official Blog of Author p.m.terrell – I think ANY author is an inspiration but my Mom’s friend Miss Trish is REALLY inspiring for anyone who writes because she’s a best-selling author of MANY suspense thrillers, and also has written some computer books AND a “how to” book for people who want to write and market their writing but don’t know how to go about it!  Now THAT’s inspiring!

Pedro The Cat – Pedro is not only a handsome cow-kitty, he’s very generous with the help of his also generous human.  Pedro is going to rule the world one of these days and I purrrsonally find that VERY inspiring!!!

CAT CHAT – Miss Caren and her cat Cody have a VERY inspiring blog.  Miss Caren does great review – books AND goodies too – and she gives a lot of time and effort to the animal community too.  Cody and I are pals.

Cat From Hell – Where do I start with all the swell things about THIS blog?!  Nellie, Kozmo and the Hairy Slobbery Sisters are so much fun to know.  Their Mom is one BUSY lady too!  This blog is inspiring because it’s really SOOOOO creative!  I’ve been on one Feline Bureau of Investigation caper with Kozmo (the Evil Mr. Chirpy Caper) and that’s when I found out just how VERY creative some people can be….. 😉

I also want to tell all of my other blogging buddies that there’s nothing I like better than being friends with you and visiting your blogs every day that I can.  I wish I hadn’t waited for TWELVE years before I decided to start my very OWN blog – I missed out on a lot of time being friends with all of you!!

I’m off to chase the sun……..

The Mr. Chirpy Caper

Standard

Now the story can be told!  The past few days have been busy for the Feline Bureau of Investigation’s Agents 00.5 Kozmo and 00.8 Sammy.  Here’s the scoop according to Sam!

“After getting word from Kozmo, Agent 00.5, requesting my help with the Mr. Chirpy Caper, I packed my bag and high-tailed it to the local airport where the FBI private jet awaited me on the tarmac.

After I boarded, I had time to reflect on how I would tackle this request from Kozmo……my mission was to try to determine from an informant on the Japanese Island of Cats, whether or not Mr. Chirpy had been in contact with the most evil Iki-Ryo to coordinate some kind of horrible cyber attack on the world. At least I had a mighty nice environment in which to THINK….the FBI private jet was quite comfy!

Talk about traveling in style huh???

I sent a quick text message to Kozmo just to let him know I was on board and on my way. I’d already arranged to get from Tokyo to the Japanese Cat Island via a small private plane which would drop me over the island and allow me to hang-glide down to meet with the FBI informant.

After a long trip to Tokyo and the quick trip from there to the island, I jumped out of the plane with my hang-glider and made my way downward to land in an open field on cat island.

Sammy's new hobby - hang gliding!

Wheeeee!

After I landed and consulted my hand-held, FBI issued GPS locator, I found the spot where I was to meet my informant at Coffee, Tea or Meow Café – a local and very popular cat café. My informant would be easy to spot…..he had a distinctive look:

FBI Informant (unnamed for protection!)

When I entered the café, there were quite a few other cats around but there was no mistaking the face of my informant and after an initial greeting we headed to a private meeting room in back away from the crowd.

Whatta joint.....a guy could "blend" right in with this bunch!

My informant said after careful and intense monitoring of communications between the evil Iki-Ryo in Japan and Mr. Chirpy, it had been determined that as of my visit, the dreaded bird flu internet virus attack had NOT yet been set in motion. That meant Kozmo and I still had time to STOP the internet attack. He also gave me the last known location of Iki-Ryo, which was, in fact, right there on Japanese Cat Island.

I left the café and made my way down the busy streets to Iki-Ryo’s hideout. When I arrived I found the entrance guarded by Iki-Ryo’s “goon squad” – a group of tough looking cats.

A group of Japanese Street cats

Tough guys....the protection squad!

But I had a plan……I stepped around the corner and asked a local fisherman if he’d toss a few fish out on the pavement just close enough to this group of guards so they’d leave their station long enough for me to enter and confront Iki-Ryo.   It worked!

Imagine my surprise when I made my way under the guarded door into a dark warehouse and saw this face!

The Evil Iki-Ryo !

Iki-Ryo was a very black cat – so inky that I could barely see him although his eyes appeared to stare right through me. He made it clear that I had no business coming into his lair…I told him I was a computer repair cat from the main island and I was there to work on his internet connection due to some problems on the island that users had been experiencing. He just told me in surprisingly good English, “Whatever….I’m too busy to follow you around…..go ahead and do whatever you’re here to do then GET OUT!”

I couldn’t believe he’d just let me into his computer room, yet he had and I quickly used my top secret FBI provided software to get into his files and scan for any communications involving Mr. Chirpy. There had been ONE email…..it had been sent just the day before…..Iki-Ryo was telling Mr. Chirpy that he’d sent by special courier a flash drive to Mr. Chirpy’s home in London that would be awaiting him on his return…..that as soon as Mr. Chirpy installed the flash drive the deadly computer virus would take effect and disrupt communications worldwide!! This is what the FBI had feared……and it was imperative that Kozmo and I shut down Mr. Chirpy on his return from London and intercept the flash drive!

Flash Drive
Innocent looking flash drive carrying the evil virus!

I very quickly contacted Kozmo and determined that Mr. Chirpy was in fact making his move back to London and Kozmo felt confident that he and I could make it back before Mr. Chirpy as our fabulously expensive and powerful FBI jet was capable of making the trip to London well ahead of Mr. Chirpy’s rickety old jet.  I received this coded message from Kozmo confirming Mr. Chirpy’s destination!

Japan Note

Coded message transmitted to me from Kozmo confirming Chirpy's destination

Kozmo was touching down briefly in Tokyo to pick me up and we were headed to London lickety-split (and fast too…..).

I was ready to hop on board as the FBI jet cruised to a landing in a secluded area of the airport in Tokyo and I quickly boarded and made myself comfortable at last as Kozmo and I caught up and enjoyed a “niptini” together (shaken…not stirred).

Meeting Kozmo on the FBI Plane

A much earned break as we speed to London to intercept Chirpy!

I know by now you’re anxious to hear how this caper continued as Kozmo and I caught up, and made our way to capture Mr. Chirpy and intercept the deadly flash drive package before it got to London SOOOOOOOO, to get the rest of the “scoop”, just visit Kozmo’s blog at CAT FROM HELL and hear how this incredible caper continues………………!

Playing Tag!

Standard
Sam Saying HI To The Camera

Hi ! Guess what ! I got tagged !

Mom had to explain to me what “tagged” meant – she said she hadn’t played tag since she was in elementary school a bazillion years ago (oops…. did I say something wrong??).  Anyway, a few days ago my friend Rumpy the dog tagged me and some other friends of his in his blog.  What you have to do is answer TEN BURNING QUESTIONS!  So, I’m going to do just that.  Then I’m going to pick on some of my friends to tag…..so there!

  1. Describe yourself in seven words:   That’s easy…..ginger, middle-aged, adorable, spoiled, happy, polydactyl, talkative
  2. What keeps you up at night?  My duties as Kimmell household security officer patrolling the premises
  3. Who would I like to be?  Sometimes I think it would be nice to be a bird BUT in truth, I like to be ME!
  4. What am I wearing now?  I’m stark nekkid 😉
  5. What scares me?  Not crazy about bluejays dive-bombing me in the yard, don’t like dogs that chase me up trees, and HATE when the doorbell rings!
  6. The best and worst of blogging:  The best is getting so many new friends from all over the world….the worst is when I don’t hear from them for a while – I get worried!
  7. The last website I visited:  I visited my Mom’s website to make sure my blog was showing up there!   My Mom
  8. What is the one thing I would change about myself:  That’s a toughie……hmmm……I can’t think of one single thing!
  9. Slankets YES or NO?   YES!  I love my fleece blankets but Mom doesn’t have a slanket (maybe she should!).
  10. Tell us something about the person who tagged you!  My friend Rumpy is a very handsome and likeable guy who does FANTASTIC interviews with animals and tells great stories too.

So there…..the inside scoop about ME courtesy of being tagged by Rumpy Dog.

If you would like to play along, I’m tagging the following friends!

If you’re too busy to play tag….that’s OK….if not, HAVE AT IT!!!!
