Sunday Selfies

Time To Hop!

It’s Sunday and time for The Cat On My Head’s pawsome “Parade of Selfies” blog hop.   Wanna have fun showing yourself off with us?   Just click on their badge above and fill out the EASY LINKY form and you’re strutting your stuff like the rest of us!

This week Mom used Lunapic again and the “REDS” Art Effect and man oh man am I popping on this one or WHAT?!    Not exactly Christmassy but you have to admit – I look like a TIGER with my stripes huh?   I’m showing you the “original” photo too – I was helping Mom change the sheets this week……well, I was sort of just guarding the mattress while she laundered the mattress pad and sheets but that’s the general idea.

This was Mom’s original photo

HOT STUFF!!

You should join in on the Selfie Hop – sure is an easy way to visit all your buddies on Sundays!    We thank The Cat On My Head for being our hosts every week – there is quite a long list of “Hoppers” but there’s always room for MORE MORE MORE so join us??

Guess what ELSE??   We got SNOW yesterday for the first time this season – YES – maybe not a HUGE amount but perhaps 3-4 inches – Mom took these early on in the snow but we got more after this…………we think it looks pretty when it just “sits on the limbs” of the trees………..

My thanks again to Marvelous’s talented Mom Miss Barb for my holiday graphic!

Sunday Hugs, Teddy

Bakin’ With Bacon In Baconia

Greetings Baconians!  Time to BAKE!

Hello from the kitchens of the Baconian Castle where I – your King Teddy – am preparing another bacon-full delight and this time it’s just a very SIMPLE Bacon Casserole that you might want to have your Mom WHIP UP on Christmas morning!!!    It can be made the night before so you can enjoy it Christmas morning then open all your packages from Santa Paws as soon as you gobble it down!

Yes it is and that’s why I think starting your Christmas morning off with this recipe would be LOVE-ly!

Easy Peasy Bacon Casserole

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 pound sliced bacon
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 12 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  1. In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove to paper towels; drain, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings. Crumble bacon and set aside. In same skillet, saute onion and green pepper in drippings until tender; remove with a slotted spoon.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and milk. Stir in hash browns, cheese, salt, pepper, onion mixture and reserved bacon.
  3. Transfer to a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 35-45 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

Easy?  You betcha!

Like I said, gobble this down – maybe with some homemade biscuits and then attack all those presents under the tree.    You don’t want to waste time having a long drawn out breakfast on Christmas morning!

Well if you should have any leftover bacon – EAT IT.    Don’t let it be lonely on the plate – nothing worse than sad bacon I always say.  And I should know – after all I am the KING OF BACONIA.

Those of you who are really MAJOR bacon fans might like to know that there are a lot of bacon Christmas tree ornaments available out there……………..

AND, for the ADULTS out there – our friend Carol sent in this little indulgence which is definitely NOT “kid friendly” but might be just the ticket for parents after a morning of screaming kids excited over Christmas!!!!

Well kiddies – that’s it from Baconia this morning……………we hope you will INSIST that your personal kitchen staff make the simple casserole for you as it DOES have bacon in it (and you can instruct them to put even more in than the recipe calls for you know!!!!)…………and is delicious too!

Even the King of Baking needs a rest after fixing breakfast right?

Happy Saturday Bacon Buddies!

Your King – Teddy

Friendly Fill-Ins

Fill-In Funzies!

It’s that day of the week for the HOP we love so much – and it’s co-hosted by our friends 15andMeowing and McGuffy’s Reader.    In fact, if you feel like hopping aboard this Blog Hop, just click McGuffy’s badge above then sign up on the LINKY form!   Easy – go for it and share your thoughts with the rest of us Hoppers.   Every week both of those blogs give us a list of four (two from each) sentences with blanks – and we have to fill in the blanks……this week’s four sentences are below – AND, I let my Mom fill them in this week!   Her fill-ins are in CHRISTMAS RED!

1. The best part of last week was finally starting my Christmas shopping – I’m later than usual this year for some reason!

2. The worst part of last week was not finding all the stuff I wanted to get for gifts on my first time “out” – that means more shopping next week……

3. Closet cleaning and kitchen cabinet clearing out is a Winter project that I will be working on.

4. A holiday gift that I always buy for someone is Christmas socks – that’s right – it’s just a personal tradition to give socks to SOMEONE on my Christmas list!
YAY!   Thanks Mom – I couldn’t figure out how to answer ANY of those questions – this is my very FIRST Christmas so I guess I’m having to learn about family traditions and stuff so I’m afraid I’m not good with Christmas questions.  All I know is that I’ve been very GOOD so no doubt I’m on Santa’s NICE list.
Actually I already got an early present from Santa – he dropped it off yesterday and asked Mom and Dad if they wouldn’t mind being his “Virginia Elves” and putting it together because they were SO busy at the North Pole right now.   Mom and Dad said “of course” and they thought it might take several days to put it together but it didn’t – it took an hour!    So I got to have it EARLY (Santa told them I could have it early if they finished it early).    Here it is:
Pawsome huh?    Well, know what?   So far I haven’t gone near it.   I want some time to get used to it being in my basement.   I’m a BIG BOY too and I’m not sure I’ll really FIT on that thing.   It’s six feet tall and the “condos” are nice sized – that big one I can definitely fit in and the perches I can put my buns on and stare out the windows but so far, even with the temptation of following the Red Dot, or snarfing up some treats on one of the platforms – I’m keeping my distance.    Mom and Dad have said that I just have to get used to SEEING it there before I’ll use it.    I’m not so sure…………I kinda like the hanging mouses and the rope……..guess I’ll just have to be brave and give it a whirl!     I don’t want Santa Paws to be disappointed in me since he brought it to me.
Have you done your “WISH LIST” for Santa?   Time’s almost up – you all better do a list – and make sure you stay on the NICE LIST too unless you want to get a bag of coal (Mom told me that’s what BAD kitties get but that’s silly…….coal????????).
See you tomorrow for BAKIN’ WITH BACON (Christmas Version)……………woo hoo!!

Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Thankful Thursday (then we’ll get Poetic!)

First this Thursday we want to take some time to thank Brian for being our host for Thankful Thursday – you can pop over and join in the fun if you click his badge above and join the BLOG HOP to talk about everything we are THANKFUL for.    This week I am thankful for my very FIRST Christmas tree experience – Mom and Dad were a little worried about how I would behave with a tree in the library BUT I took a page from Angel Sammy’s book about how to behave around a Christmas tree and I am lying UNDER the tree on the tree skirt and minding my own business…..haven’t touched an ornament (although they are tempting) and have not tried to climb the tree (I’m not much of a climber anyway).    Mom and Dad are THANKFUL that I’m behaving!    See, I know Santa Paws has me on his NICE list now and I don’t want him to move me to the NAUGHTY list!

I’m also thankful that Angel Sammy got through the clouds from the Bridge on his wi-fi connecting cloud and send me his POETIC THURSDAY poem last night!    Ready?

♥♥♥♥

Happy Poetic Thursday Friends!

Time for our get-together on Thursdays each week to exchange some poetic thoughts……………we are at the END of the alphabet again and thanks to all of you who voted in the poll last week, we will be starting our PHOTO POEM CHALLENGE next week!     Instead of moving through the alphabet a letter at a time, I will be showing you a photo the week before and the following Thursday we will all write a poem about what WE see in the photo or what we FEEL from seeing the photo – or ANYTHING relating to the photo I show you!    I think it’s going to be tons of fun.   The photos can be ANYTHING………a place, a thing – ANYTHING.   I will give you your Photo for NEXT Thursday AFTER I share with you my poem for the last letter of the alphabet – “Z” !!

The prompts I gave you last week were just ideas for you – as you know by now you can write a poem about ANYTHING that begins with the letter “Z” – the suggestions were:

(1) Zoo (2) Zing (3) Zipper (4) Zap

I decided to use one of my own prompts for today!

“Zoo”

By Angel Sammy Kimmell, Dec. 6, 2017

A zoo is a place where animals are “kept”

Where things look so neat and sidewalks are swept

Where snacks are sold and kids carry balloons

But behind the scenes may be a much different tune

The animals living there really had no choice

They were unable to decline to go there – they had no voice

They are out of their element, far far from home

Sometimes in small cages where they cannot roam

It’s true that zoos are better than they used to be

They are eliminating cages and let animals run free

Wide open spaces and more natural food

It’s more comfortable for the animals and does them good

Zoos help the endangered and give medical care to the sick

The animals aren’t stuck in circuses and forced to do tricks

But one day it would be wonderful if we could see

A time when all animals could live lives that are free………..

It is true that zoos are so much better for the most part than they were when my Mom was a child………..animals looked so sad holding into the bars watching the people freely come and go.   Much like the way animals in shelters and pet stores look until they are lucky enough to get their FOREVERS like I was – and like Teddy was!

So enough about ZOOS – I hope you wrote a poem today to celebrate the LAST letter of the alphabet?  If you did, make sure you give us your blog link in my comments here – or write your poem in a comment……….we’d LOVE to read your poetic endeavor!     Those of you who have said that you’ve never written poetry before – neither had my Mom or myself until we tried – and we found it was fun AND challenging.

Next Thursday we begin the NEW Poetic Challenge.   I will give you a photo in my post here today – and next Thursday your poem should be ABOUT the photo…..what you see, what you THINK you see, how it makes you feel, what it makes you think of……….WHATEVER!   The photo is just a “springboard” to a poem…………I think it will be fun, and I hope you will enjoy it.   I had tons of YES votes in the poll we had last week so let’s give it a whirl!    Here is your photo for NEXT Thursday.    Ready???

Quite an unusual photo isn’t it……………………….let it spark your imagination – what do you see?   What do you feel when you see it?   Make up a story about it in poetry form – or ANYTHING it makes you think about.     Every week it will be a different type of photo – this is just our first one…………….SO – it’s a date right?  I’ll see you next Thursday and you will all write a poem about this photo.   YOU CAN DO IT!

‘Tis I ! Angel Sammy, zeeee French poet!!!

See you next Thursday!

Love, Angel Sammy

♥♥♥♥

Well this ought to be a lot of fun and VERY interesting too as a challenge…………………………..Meanwhile, I hope all of you have a great Thankful and Poetic Thursday!

Hugs, Teddy

Teaser Tell All

Hello Students!   Time to TELL ALL

We’re ready Professor Sammy and Professor Teddy!

Well perhaps you do but you will have to WAIT because we’re not ready to divulge the TEASER TRUTH!

First things first…………yesterday we had TWO First Commenters!   They popped in a full minute before anyone else arrived.    So we have TWO badges to award to:

FRIENDS FUREVER and TIMMY TOMCAT

CONCATULATIONS!

(both of you get one of these so make sure and take it)

I was one of TWO FIRST COMMENTERS on the Teaser of Dec. 5,2017!

It was a beautiful Teaser wasn’t it?   Such a pretty building……………and I know you are just dying to know WHERE it was but before I tell you, let’s thank our wonderful GUEST TEASER for sending the photos in shall we???

CSILLA of KOLYTYI !

THANK YOU!

For Csilla for being our GUEST TEASER for the Teaser on December 5, 2017!

I will show all of you the photos again – one last time then we’ll “spill the beans” on where Miss Csilla’s photos were taken!

WHERE ??????  I’ll tell you where…………………….these photos are of the interior of the beautiful City Hall Building in OSLO, NORWAY!!    We had some pretty wild and fun guesses but we only had ONE FIRST RIGHT GUESSER of course and that was:

KATHEL MALLORY and Charles!

CONGRATULATIONS!

For Kathel Mallory and Scout Charles for being FIRST RIGHT GUESSER on Teaser of Dec. 5, 2017!

There were many others who ALSO guessed the Oslo City Hall building and if you were one of those lucky duckies, please take one of these badges below!

I was RIGHT but not FIRST on the Teaser of Dec. 5, 2017

AND, of course if you guessed but you were WRONG……………we will give you the consolation prize – a GREENIE!!!!!!

I tried but missed on my guess on the Teaser of Dec. 5, 2017! Maybe NEXT week I’ll get it…..

I’m sure that SuzieQ and her sidekick Miss Lucy will want to honor our winners with a big fat cheer – girls – you’re on!

GO GIRLS GO!!!

Friends Furever and Timmy were very fast!
THEY COMMENTED FIRST QUICKLY – WHAT A BLAST!
Our First Right Guesser was quick to guess
THEN OTHERS GUESSED AND IT WAS A BIG HOT MESS!
But Kathel Mallory guessed right FIRST SHE WAS SO FAST THE OTHERS WERE CURSED! We are glad there weren’t a million “righties”
OR OUR CHEER WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THIS TIDY!
We find it tough sometimes to rhyme
BUT IT’S ALL GOOD CUZ WE HAVE A FUN FUN TIME!!!
RAH RAH BARK…..(oops!)

Well this was a very good Teaser class this week don’t you think?   We are sneaking up to Christmas – slowly but surely.   Christmas is a Monday this year so NOT a regular TEASER day.   In fact, we’re wondering if we should just have a REGULAR Christmas blog post since all of us will be opening presents, eating tons of food, and probably sleeping in a FOG with all the excitement.    We’ll announce on the Teaser of the 19th whether we’ll do a Christmas Teaser or not.    If you want to CHIME IN with any thoughts – let us know.   We don’t want to INTERRUPT your Christmas celebrations!!

Leave the classroom in orderly fashion students!

CLASS DISMISSED!

Prof Sammy and Prof Teddy

Teaser Tuesday

Let’s Go Kids!   Time to hit the classroom!   The Professors just pulled into the parking lot!

Good Morning Students!  Why are you all out of breath??????  Have you been running?

Did you remember to COMMENT before you took your seat??????

Alright – if you forgot to comment I’ll give you a QUICK hall pass to do it NOW!

We’re BACK Sarge!

Alright now let’s get going with geography class everyone………….tomorrow we’ll find out WHO was the FIRST to comment on the post today – and give them a badge for that honor!   But for now, let’s get ready to view a tough Teaser photo from our GUEST TEASER PERSON today shall we?

You know the drill – you have to examine the photo and figure out WHERE it was taken………………..and when we say WHERE, we mean the specifics!    Here are the rules for guessing:

  1. When you guess you have to guess the name of the TOWN/CITY/VILLAGE and the COUNTRY (if not in USA) or STATE (if in USA) where the photo was taken.
  2. When you guess we hope that you will NOT use some computer program that will let you pop the Teaser image in an WHAMMO it will tell you where it was taken – use your own eyeballs and study the photo for clues and make a guess without help – that’s more of a challenge right?????   Right!!!!!

I also want to tell you that Miss Dingleberry is trying to get us all in the Christmas spirit today and will be serving CHRISTMAS COOKIES after class on your way out to recess – how cool is that?  Please remember to THANK Miss Dingleberry when you take your cookies – she and the cafeteria crew work hard to make fun snackables for our class.

Shall we ask our fabulous Cheerleaders Suzie and Lucy to give us a PEPPY cheer to get us in the mood for Teaser today?

TEASER TUESDAY IS TODAY!
Lucy and I have something to say…….
CHEERING IS KIND OF TOUGH
When I have a hangover it’s truly rough
WE KNOW THAT YOU WILL ALL BE READY
For Professor Sam and Assistant Teddy
YOU STUDIED HARD SO YOU SHOULD DO WELL
So bring on the photos and those cookies we smell! GOOOOOOOOOO TEAM!

Let’s bring our man with the silver briefcase which contains the TEASER PHOTOS for this week.    Did I say PHOTOS???  Plural????  Yes I did……….we’re showing you more than one shot for this Teaser.

I see THREE photos of the Teaser today!

Here is today’s Teaser Professor Sam and Ted

WHERE WERE THESE PHOTOS SNAPPED????????????????    Remember if you can guess this one, you will get one of these badges!

And if you guess but you are WRONG, you get a GREENIE!

Now, anyone for cookies????

HO….HO…..HO……HOT chocolate!!

YUMMMMMY!!!!!

Thank you Miss Dingleberry!!!

DID YOU GUYS SEE THAT??? MISS DINGLEBERRY SMILED!!!

See you in class tomorrow – good luck with the Teaser!

Angel Prof Sammy and Assistant Prof Teddy

Pre-Tease Monday

One Ringy-Dingy!   Two Ringy-Dingies…..

School Bell Time!

Alright Class – I’m Sarge’s sister Miss Marge and I’m your the new playground monitor – get your buns into class ASAP!

UHOH……she means business!

I see you’ve all met Sarge’s sister Miss Marge – she will be making sure everyone is INSIDE and ready for class………….Sarge is still classroom and hall monitor so now you must be on your toes INSIDE and OUTSIDE school!

Are you ready for another Teaser this week?  Good because tomorrow is the day we will have one for you – it will pop into your inbox at some DIFFERENT time than our normal blog posts so be READY.    When it does arrive, you need to COMMENT on the post quickly before you even read the post because you MIGHT be first to comment and win this:

Wouldn’t THAT be fun?   Then you can come back and begin to figure out the Teaser photo.    When you do, here are the “rules” we ask you to follow!

  1. When you guess where the photo was taken you have to give us CITY/VILLAGE/TOWN as well as the COUNTRY (if not in USA) or STATE (if in USA) you think the photo was snapped in.
  2. We also ask that you not use some special program on your computer to TELL you where the photo was taken – Google Image Search would tell you but if you don’t use “help” and you just try to figure it out on your own – everyone has an equal chance to WIN!    YAY!

On Wednesday we have the TEASER TELL ALL and we award badges to WHOEVER GUESSES RIGHT FIRST,  other who are RIGHT GUESSERS, and even those of you who don’t know or guess WRONG, you still get a little something for your time!!!!!

Now I thought maybe our dynamic duo cheerleading team could FIRE YOU UP for tomorrow’s Teaser – so let’s bring on Lucy and Suzie and see them SHAKE THOSE POM POMS!!!!!

IT’S ME LUCY MY SPEAKING ISN’T GOOSY!
That’s right my little pup
I was about to just give up!
NO I JUST WAS A LITTLE SLOW
I know Lucy girl, I know!!!
BARK BARK FOR OUR STUDENTS
Lucy, barking isn’t very prudent!
I BARKED TO GET THEIR ATTENTION!
Oh good, or else it’s detention!!
WE’LL BE BACK TOMORROW FOR CLASS
And we’ll bring a boat load of sass!!

Alright girls!   By George I think you’ve got it!!!!!

YAY!!!!!! WAHOO FOR THE CHEER GIRLS!!!!

So we will be back tomorrow and I believe there will be after class snacks from Miss Dingleberry…………………so make sure you come and take a stab at the Teaser.    We will see you then!!
