Thursday is HOP day with Brian………….he calls it his THANKFUL THURSDAY blog hop and we tack onto our “thankful” post a bit more…………my brother Angel Sammy also hosts his “Poetic Thursday” fun. So you can see why we LOVE THURSDAY. If you would like to share what you’re thankful for this week in Brian’s Blog Hop – click his badge above and link up!
I’m thankful that in spite of the unbelievable heat and humidity, Mom and Dad have indulged my passion for being outside. One or both of them have taken me out every single day and kept a close eye on me to keep me safe. I do love that. Often I will fall asleep under a shrub while outside and Mom and Dad just watch me nap and sit and talk or read books while keeping half an eyeball on me. I’m lucky.
Also lucky that Angel Sammy’s Poetry post got here in time for me to share it with you!

Hello Friends!
Here we are again – seems like just yesterday we were gathering to share poetry but it’s been a whole week. My goodness but time does fly – just like Angels at the Rainbow!
So you know the drill by now – every week I give you a photo to serve as inspiration for you to write a poem to share the following Thursday. Many of you participate and ALL of you are wonderful poets! Long poem, short poem, rhyming or not – doesn’t matter what form it’s in – just participate because it’s TONS OF FUN.
Here’s the photo I gave you last week to use for this week’s poem – if you wrote one tell us in comments so we can read it…………my poem follows the photo:
“Go Go On The Pogo”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©July 14, 2021
Pogo sticks were tons of fun
I wouldn’t know but my Mom had one!
Plenty of skinned knees and an elbow or two
Before she mastered the art of HOP as her bruises turned blue!
Boing, boing, boing up and down the sidewalk she’d go
Her Mom peeking out the window to watch the show
Santa Claus brought all her friends one year a pogo stick
You had to learn how to handle it mighty darn quick
The neighborhood looked like it was full of kid-kangaroos
Big smiles on their faces in spite of bandaids and a bruise!
My Mom doesn’t remember whatever happened to her pogo stick but chances are during the next move (they moved every 2 years as her Dad was in the Air Force) they probably put it in the yard sale. She said she soon outgrew the pogo stick anyway and took up piano lessons. HAHA
Now how about a photo for you to use for NEXT Thursday’s poetry fun??? How’s this for inspiration:
Well Mom tells me it’s felt like this around the yard lately as it’s been super duper hot. The only way I could do this is if that wasn’t SAND but ICE CREAM I was walking through – AND Mom says she agrees with me!! Although the fact of the matter is at the Rainbow Bridge it’s ALWAYS totally comfortable 24/7.
Have fun writing a poem for this one…………I’m sure I will. I’ll see you next week for Poetry Day………………………

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Oh Angel Sammy I don’t think I could do that desert walk thing. I like heat and have no problem being outside in it (unlike our Mom and Dad!) but I think the sand would burn my little pink paw pads! I prefer air conditioning – yes I know I’m spoiled………..but after all, that’s why we have the name we do for our BLOG right?
“Ahhhh……air-conditioning!!”
