Happy Thursday and let’s get thankful with Brian! If you’d like to join in the Hop just click his badge and link up with us. Our chance to VOICE all the things we’re thankful for this past week or whenever.
I’m thankful we finally got a tiny bit of rain last night. Weather guy has been predicting rain and we weren’t getting it. Sometimes the mountains to our West change the pattern of a rain system as it comes over the mountains OR stops it entirely. We got a little bit of rain during the night but Mom still got the lawn mowed. Thankful for that too! Also thankful that Mom and Dad seem less “stressed” lately – one of the other benefits of being vaccinated!
I’m also thankful I got Angel Sammy’s poem last night……….they sure have good wi-fi at the Bridge!

Time To Share Poetry!!
Howdy………nice to see all of you – this once a week poetry exchange is so much fun for me and I hope for you. I give you a photo and you have a whole week to think about writing a poem using the photo as inspiration. Funzies!
SO – let’s get to it……..here’s the photo I gave you last week for THIS week’s poem followed by the poem I wrote which this photo inspired in my brain!
“Peas Again??!”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©June 9, 2021
Mama, Mama, oh pretty please
Don’t make me eat any more of those peas!
You say they’re good veggies and taste real yummy
But I’ve got to tell you they rumble in my tummy!
They’re squishy and icky and please listen Mother
They go in one place and immediately out the other!
HAHA……sorry – I couldn’t resist. This baby’s expression is so perfect for so many things. I could have written five poems but decided on the “OFF” one as my favorite. I can’t wait to see the poems you wrote for Mr. Grumpy. If you wrote one, you can share it in our comments OR give us a link to your blog so we can read it!
Kids are so much fun to take photos of and to “give voice” to their endless facial expressions. I have used many kids’ photos since we’ve been doing Poetry together and they always are delightful to use as poetic subjects.
I found this photo for us all to use for next week’s inspiration……hope you like it!
Wheeee! I could even drive this one!!! Have fun writing a poem for this photo……….and yes this is a REAL vehicle not a toy!
See you all next week – when we get together to GET POETIC.

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!
Hugs, Angel Sammy

Great poem Angel Sammy…………thank you so much for taking time out of your Rainbow Bridge duties every week to help us be poetic together…………see you next week!
We got some rain, too…quite a good soaking on Moday, and some more Wed afternoon. Petcretary got caught in all of them…she got soaked!! LOL!
But she just said, Thanks for the rain, but couldn’t you have waited five more minutes before letting it start? LOL!
Grumpy Baby
I look quite sad,
and ready to cry,
Or maybe I’m mad
Oh well, I’ll tell you why…
Mommy will be lucky;
I just did
Something yucky!!
(Nope I didn’t copy your idea, I had that on a piece of paper since a few days ago, LOL! Great minds think a like…and know all about babies!!)

I wondered about that – I mean the mini-car is cute but definitely no room for shopping bags, people, or even a cell phone to call for a tow when that thing dies on the freeway!

Love your poem, and So True! Ours took a different approach … (too long to include here) … this week did NOT add-on our own cry-baby photos, for which I’m sure my now grown-up “babies” are
quite THANKFUL for. Next weeks pic will be quite the challenge … love being part of this each

We have had rain (and snow) this week. I will be happy to see the heat comeback (except the mosquitoes will be horrific). I LOVE Sammy/Your poem! It reminds me of my little sister! She hated peas because they were squishy! Thanks for the terrific memory and for being one of my Sparks!

Snow? OH NO! My Mom says when she was a little girl she would absolutely REFUSE to eat a pea that wasn’t “whole” – if it was squished she called the “dead peas” and wouldn’t eat them. When she was told to eat them anyway she would cry and cry at having to eat dead peas. My Mom was rather emotional wasn’t she…..HAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh YES, it had to be those peas!!! Mom remembers how much all the grands hated peas as babies, and probably still do. Mom actually likes them cold in her salad:)
We had oodles of rain in May but now that the heat and humidity of Kansas have arrived, the ground is very dry. Time to get the sprinklers going.
