Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Happy Thursday and let’s get thankful with Brian!    If you’d like to join in the Hop just click his badge and link up with us.     Our chance to VOICE all the things we’re thankful for this past week or whenever.

I’m thankful we finally got a tiny bit of rain last night.  Weather guy has been predicting rain and we weren’t getting it.    Sometimes the mountains to our West change the pattern of a rain system as it comes over the mountains OR stops it entirely.    We got a little bit of rain during the night but Mom still got the lawn mowed.    Thankful for that too!    Also thankful that Mom and Dad seem less “stressed” lately – one of the other benefits of being vaccinated!

I’m also thankful I got Angel Sammy’s poem last night……….they sure have good wi-fi at the Bridge!

Time To Share Poetry!!

Howdy………nice to see all of you – this once a week poetry exchange is so much fun for me and I hope for you.    I give you a photo and you have a whole week to think about writing a poem using the photo as inspiration.   Funzies!

SO – let’s get to it……..here’s the photo I gave you last week for THIS week’s poem followed by the poem I wrote which this photo inspired in my brain!

“Peas Again??!”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell      ©June 9, 2021

Mama, Mama, oh pretty please

Don’t make me eat any more of those peas!

You say they’re good veggies and taste real yummy

But I’ve got to tell you they rumble in my tummy!

They’re squishy and icky and please listen Mother

They go in one place and immediately out the other!

HAHA……sorry – I couldn’t resist.    This baby’s expression is so perfect for so many things.   I could have written five poems but decided on the “OFF” one as my favorite.   I can’t wait to see the poems you wrote for Mr. Grumpy.    If you wrote one, you can share it in our comments OR give us a link to your blog so we can read it!

Kids are so much fun to take photos of and to “give voice” to their endless facial expressions.    I have used many kids’ photos since we’ve been doing Poetry together and they always are delightful to use as poetic subjects.

I found this photo for us all to use for next week’s inspiration……hope you like it!

Wheeee!    I could even drive this one!!!     Have fun writing a poem for this photo……….and yes this is a REAL vehicle not a toy!

See you all next week – when we get together to GET POETIC.

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Hugs, Angel Sammy

Great poem Angel Sammy…………thank you so much for taking time out of your Rainbow Bridge duties every week to help us be poetic together…………see you next week!

Love, Teddy

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Happy Thursday – and it’s a special day for yours truly – it’s my FIFTH birthday today.    I was almost a year old when I was adopted by my Mom and Dad (which by the way is my BIG THANKFUL for today) – I was 11 months old when hey waltzed into the Animal Shelter and saw me.    I made goo goo eyes at Mom and the rest is history.   I am MORE than THANKFUL.

Today is also Poetic Thursday which is when my Angel brother Sammy sends us his poem of the week based on the photo he gave us LAST week to use as inspiration.   We are supposed to write a poem every Thursday to share with each other.    The photos are always fun and so far we’ve read SOOOOO many fabulous poems YOU all have written using Sammy’s photos to inspire your words!!

My Poetic Brother Angel Sammy

Let’s see what he wrote for all of us this week AND see what photo he chose for us to use for NEXT Thursday!

Greetings Poets and Happy Birthday Little Bro’ !!!

Let’s start off today with me reminding you all that YES YOU CAN WRITE A POEM.    We get lots of notes from you saying you “can’t write poetry” when really it’s NOT that hard to do.   Poetry doesn’t even have to rhyme.    There are TONS of poetic forms – short, long, rhyming and not.    It’s fun to use a photograph to inspire your poem and I give you one every week with a whole WEEK to come up with a poem to share.

Here’s the photo I gave you last week which hopefully you used to write a poem for today – if you wrote one, just tell us in comments here OR give us a link to where we can read your masterpiece!!

“My Comfort Zone”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell      ©March 3, 2021

Mommy, Mommy, are you listening?

I’m so scared that my diaper is glistening

This kiddie wagon is awfully tiny

There’s hardly room for my diapered hiney!

What if I fall – what if I should crash?

What if I get a case of nervous diaper rash?

I see that you’re laughing but it’s not funny to me

Please get me out of this thing NOW and set me free!

Poor little baby – some people will do anything for a humorous photo and while this is actually adorably cute and funny to this baby it is no laughing matter!    I think he or she is most definitely NOT pleased with this photo shoot.     Babies make wonderful subjects for photos though – they do so many delightfully adorable things that it’s tempting to put them into situations that we think are entertaining but that they might not be so happy about.    Anyway, I can’t wait to see what you’ve written for this photo.    Speaking of photos – here’s next week’s for you to work with to write a poem for next Thursday.

Another Fun One !

There you have it for another week – hope you decide to write a poem for the above photo – we’ll read some poetry NEXT Thursday shall we?   Meanwhile – stay healthy and safe and know that I love all of you and always will.    Even all the way from the Rainbow Bridge!

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love and Hugs to all of you and especially my TEDDY BOY

Thanks Angel Sammy……..it means a lot that you gave me a special hug for my birthday………………I’ll see you again next week and feel free to visit me in my dreams ANYTIME!

Pee Ess…..I’m sharing my purrrrrsonal horoscope from Cats-Astropic Events (Marv, JoJo, Kozmo and Angel Nellie)

Thank You My Friends!

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

The Thankful Blog Hop is hosted by our friend Brian at Brians Home Blog – if you’d like to join in the fun of being THANKFUL together, just click the badge above and link up. This time of year EVERYONE thinks about all the things they’re thankful for right? Well, they also think about the weather on Christmas Eve and hoping Santa Claus doesn’t run into any major storms on his rounds too. My other thankfuls include that we just might have a white Christmas with some rain and/or snow on Christmas Day. I won’t go out in the snow for sure but it would be kind of pretty to be home on a snowy day enjoying whatever Santa Claws brought me! Also very thankful that my Mom and Dad continue to keep healthy.

We also have Angel Sammy’s Poetic Thursday poem for you as well. It’s Christmas Eve and the photo he gave all of us to use for today’s poem is definitely Christmas Eve material!     Here’s his email to me:

Happy Christmas Eve Friends!

What a perfect day to share some poetry.    I hope you wrote a poem for the photo I gave you last Thursday.    It’s a cute photo and certainly has a flavor of Christmas Eve.   If you wrote a poem let us all know in comments………we can’t wait to read your work!!

Here’s the photo I gave you last week, followed by my poem……………………..then followed by a NEW photo for you to use to write a poem for NEXT Thursday which will be New Year’s Eve!

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell      ©December 23, 2020

Trying to stay awake by reading a book

Wanting to be awake to catch a quick look!

Mom says he won’t come if he knows you’re awake

But we had no idea just how long it would take

When morning arrives and little eyes fly open

Seeing all our new toys – all the things we were hopin’ !

Cookies and milk are gone so we’re glad he had his snack

But we sure wanted to see him go up the chimney with his empty sack!

Oh the magic of Christmas when you’re a kid.   This photo is absolutely adorable too – Santa’s rosy cheeks……..the kids warm and cozy by the fire waiting – waiting.    This scene is liable to be acted out for real all over the world tonight.    We hope that the magic of Christmas lasts forever and ever.

Here’s next week’s photo…………..I suppose you might have guessed what sort of theme I’d choose since it’s New Year’s Eve??

Having a blast……………………but how about tomorrow morning??????????   My Mom and Dad haven’t been to New Year’s Eve party in like forever and ever – that might be a good thing – I wouldn’t want them to be caught on film like these two but I have to admit – they look like they’re having fun!

Think about the photo and next week share your poem using this cute photo as inspiration……………..until then…………………….

Love – Angel Sammy

Thank you Angel Sammy……..I think this was your last Christmas portrait before you left for the Bridge………………….We all miss you………….

Love, Teddy

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Happy Thankful and Poetic Thursday!    First up is always thankfuls – after all, we should be thankful every day of the week but when Thursday rolls around we SHARE thankfuls.  This is a great hop hosted by our friend Brian at his blog – and if you want to join us just click his badge above and link up.   Today I am thankful that our stupid internet came back on JUST IN TIME for me to be at Cat Scouts for a class!   Sounds silly I know but I don’t like to miss classes when we have them.   I’m a good Cat Scout!    I’m also thankful that we’ve had snow in our forecast two times the past week and only got a TEENY bit which melted almost immediately – now that’s something to be thankful for!

I’m also thankful that Angel Sammy’s poem arrived in time for me to share it with you as we usually do on Thursdays.

Greetings poets!   I got out from behind my poetic podium to dress up for the holiday!

Let’s share some poetry shall we?    We get together once a week and share a poem that we’ve had a whole week to write – based on a photo I give you to use as inspiration for your poem.   You all are wonderful poets – the poems you come up with are great and if you’ve never tried writing one before – TRY.   We have such fun sharing our poems here and it’s even more fun when you write a poem from a photo.    At least I think so!    Here’s the photo I gave you LAST week to use for your poem.  I thought this photo was PERFECT for this time of year.   Millions of people are carrying millions of bags/boxes/containers of gifts around this time of year – Christmas is a week from today so this photo seemed like GOOD inspiration for this week’s poem.   Here’s mine:

“Can We Go Home Now?”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell    ©December 18, 2019

Hours and hours on my feet

Mall benches full so I can’t have a seat

Lines long at restaurants so I can’t even eat!

A motorized cart would sure be a treat…..

The bakery is full of people or I’d get something sweet.

I guess I’ll give my Uber driver an email and a tweet

Then go home and rest because I am well and truly BEAT!

HAHA……a shorty poem but different and I imagine I’m channeling a whole lot of people’s feelings and thoughts about now.   The stores are packed with people doing what people do this time of year.   My Mom was not one of them – she did everything online.   My Dad sadly went to shops in our town and stood in many a line and made many a complaint when he came home.    He was my inspiration this week!!!

Here’s the poem I found for us for next week.    I imagine everyone will be recovering from Christmas dinner and fun by this time next Thursday…………I know that’s what my Mom, Dad, and Teddy will be doing.

Seems like a good post-Christmas, pre-New Year photo to me.    See what you can do with it as your inspiration for a poem to share with us next Thursday!   Meanwhile, if you wrote a poem for today based on the poor guy with 1000 bags photo from last week, let us know your link so we can read it!!   We want to see what you thought about when you saw the photo.    I hope you will be here next week even if you don’t write a poem – just to say hi…………………

Until we meet here again – Merry Christmas my friends……..from the Rainbow Bridge!

Love, Angel Sammy

Thank you Angel Sammy – I wish you could be here with me for Christmas…….we’d have a time!    Mom says you loved being under the Christmas tree – so do I.    We could snuggle and have naps together there…………….if only you were here.

Hugs, Teddy

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Thankful Thursday time……………..Brian, #1 thankful today is thanks to you for hosting this chance for us to all get together and concentrate on what we’re thankful for!    Anyone else wanting to join in just click on Brian’s badge and link up.    It’s something I think we ALL look forward to every week.

Another thing I’m thankful for is that we only for 3 inches of snow this time around.   The “arctic air” and extreme cold is really something but somehow with the sun out, it’s not so bad.   We just feel awful for any creature who does not have shelter when it’s like this.

I got Angel Sammy’s poem last night so I’m happy to share his Thoroughly Poetic Thursday poem with you all!    If you wrote a poem this week, let us know in comments won’t you?   We’ll come visit you and read your poetry.

Hello Fellow Poets and Poetry Fans!   Time to SHARE!

Hope we have a few more entries to read today in our weekly get-together………if you say that you “can’t” write poetry you’re wrong.    If you can WRITE, you can write a poem.   Trust me.   Just try once and you might like it.     I will give you a photo every Thursday and you have a WHOLE WEEK to think about it and see what you can come up with in the way of a poem – any poetic form – to share the following Thursday.

Here’s the photo I gave you for THIS week with my poem following.    Gosh this looks amazing doesn’t it????

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell     January 30, 2019

This skillfully built masterpiece of calories

I hope the designer has a good salary!

I look at it and think WOW

I wish that I could eat that NOW

Sweets aren’t good for cats to eat

But a little lick of ice cream is a very nice treat

That whipped cream is inviting – I might eat that……

Surely anything in moderation is OK for a cat?

My Mom says even though she’s getting too round

She’d like to tackle this banana split then lose 50 pounds!

When we saw this photo we just knew it would be a fun one to write a poem about.    My Mom hasn’t had a banana split in YEARS.   Funny but it’s kind of one of those “old-fashioned” ice cream treats……these days people are more diet conscious and get sugar-free trees or at least something in moderation – – – this photo shows an all out, full speed ahead, ice cream orgy in a dish!!!

Well, I hope you had fun with this – I did.   Now for next week’s photo – you have ALL week to think about what to write………………let this photo inspire you!

When I saw this photo I thought – “NO WAY!!”…………but there are a lot of people who love high diving – cliff diving – dangerous diving and while I wouldn’t do it (even though I’m safe because I’m am Angel!) that doesn’t mean that SOME consider it a legitimate sport.    I just think it will make for a GREAT poem!

So I’ll see you here next week?    I sincerely hope that I do……………….I love this little bit of time with all my friends……………..I miss all of you……………..

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love always from the rainbow…………Angel Sammy

Oh Angel Sammy that photo is just so scary…..even cats who can handle jumping from amazing heights would NOT want to leap off that rock – I won’t even leap off my cat tree from the tippity top.   Anyway, thank you for sharing your poetry with us every week.

We’re staying warm!

This coat helps a lot!

I can handle it!

Can we go inside now Mom??

It’s too cold for us to be outside so stay inside………………..and if you’re able to provide shelter to another animal during this horrible arctic cold, please do.   We have our heated cat house on the front porch!

The heated bed for any visiting kitties on my porch!

Hugs, Teddy
