Camping Update…..

Well obviously prepping for camp is TOTALLY on  my mind because after all, I’m your Camp Counselor and I want EVERYBODY to have a super fun time.

Today I flew up to the campsites just to make sure everything was in order.  Remember I have arranged for tents for everyone who isn’t bringing their own.  We have lots of people who are in the “Tent Decorating Contest” and have really put their purrrrrsonality into the decorating so I know it will be tough to pick your favorite when the poll goes up!  

Remember there’s plenty of time to sent in an entry for TENT DECORATING, SCARY POEM, and to do the VIRTUAL SCAVENGER HUNT.   Right now I think we will post the poll for the tent contest AND post the scary poems on this coming Sunday’s blog.  Voting will begin Sunday as soon as the polls are posted and will last all day Monday.  On Tuesday morning on my blog you’ll find out who the winners are!!    We’ll be enjoying our bonfire and I’ll READ to you the winning scary story and another little short story my Mom and I wrote that starts out scary but has a happy ending!  Good way to finish our last night at the camp right?  We’ll be having a BIG cookout too around the bonfire.

Now for a few camping updates from our friends…………..

I got this photo from our cutie-pie friend Cupcake – all set to come on the camping trip!  She’s packed up, has her special green camping dress on (it will be St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday remember!)  and can’t wait to see all of you there………..

Cupcake packed her backpack full of her stuffed animals and has plenty of treats!

Then Mollie has sent us a photo – she’s in her pink convertible, with all her camping gear heading to the campground….ready to pawty and visit everybody in their tents and spread fun like only Mollie can!…………

Our friend Savannah wanted me to see the spot she’s chosen to put her beautiful tent up in the wooded camping area (you’ll see her tent in the contest)…….looks like she picked a nice place don’t you think??………

So, everything is moving along nicely and I want to remind you what to look for when you arrive on Sunday at the campground……..I’ll be under the sign waiting to see you and we’ll have volunteers who will show you to your tent OR camping spot – then LET THE FUN BEGIN!

Fun Friday

Hi Peeps!

Yes I know I don’t normally get really excited about Friday – after all, it’s MONSTER day – but this Friday I’m happy…….because of a couple of things………ONE, we’re working on the camping trip around here (woot!), and TWO, we had about ten inches of snow yesterday but today it’s almost GONE!

Oh and THREE – I spent today decorating my tent…….I’m of course not entering the competition for Best Decorated Tent on the camping trip BUT I thought I’d decorate my tent anyway – so you can see how my tent will look – you need to be able to recognize the Camp Counselor’s tent after all right?   So whatcha think???  Is it the REAL ME????????????  How about you – are you decorating your tent for the trip?

I’ll be easy to find at the campground don’t you think????

Teaser Tell All

Hi Everybody!

It seems that I didn’t QUITE fool everybody with yesterday’s Tuesday Teaser photo.  Nope – sure didn’t.  As of the time Mom and I are working on this blog (Tuesday evening), THREE of you got it – two got the EXACT place and one the EXACT state (yes it was in the USA this time!)!

Where was the photo taken you ask???????  Well, it was taken in the amazing Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona.  All those things that look like big boulders are parts of petrified trees.  They FEEL like stones if you touch them because that’s what petrified is!  Imagine – they were actual big live trees three million years ago.  If you’re curious about the Petrified Forest, CLICK HERE.

As of right now, the sky is totally clouded over and it’s raining VERY lightly……..by the time you are reading my bloggy Wednesday morning we should have snowy trees just like in my HUG – – – only they won’t be PETRIFIED FOREST TREES – they’ll be my very own big oak trees!

 

Tomorrow’s blog will have (finally) some information about WHERE we’ll be going for our camping trip!  Are you excited?  Good!  I am too………..and we’ll be meeting at our campground on St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday, March 17th.  Tell your humans that you’ll be coming home on March 20th.  We’ll spend TWO nights camping in the woods and one night on the beach with a big beach blowout party the last night.

Furrsday Chill

Hi All!

Looks like it’s gonna be another cold day here but from some of the photos I’ve seen around the blogosphere we have been SOOOOOO fortunate not to be snowbound like some of you! 

We visited A Tonk’s Tail….errr….Tale yesterday and saw poor Allie trotting along the sidewalk outside her house surrounded by walls of snow.   lots of you are getting extra home time with your humans because they can’t get out to go to work.  Assuming that means extra treats, tummy rubs and chin scritches for you – it’s pretty grand huh? 

Anyway, we hope Spring will be here soon……….for ALL of us who are in the midst of Winter right now.  So far THIS was our “biggest” snow this year – remember this?  Many weeks ago – and we haven’t had anything CLOSE to this since!

Not exactly a blizzard huh???

Am I complaining?  Not really.  I’m just amazed at what a rather strange Winter we’ve had.   As I napped this afternoon, visions of Spring danced through my ginger head…….

Spring makes me think of the camping trip I thought we should organize………I’m thinking about some ideas now……….stay tuned.  That good camping weather will be here before you know it!!

Sam Is Camping Out…Inside!

Hey...this camping thing is WAY COOL!

Is this cool or WHAAAT?  Mom and Dad gave me this tent thing the other day and I just love it.  So much so that I dragged a bunch of my toys inside (including this string thing) and have managed to train Mom to bring me some treats to munch on while I’m camping!  Not only that, but this thing has a crinkly bottom so when I move, it makes a sound that’s really funny. 

Mom says I’m camping out.  I didn’t “get” what that meant really until she explained that sometimes humans go out in the woods or some other nice spot and put up a little house where they stay for a few days just to enjoy nature.   I gotta wonder how much they like it when it rains, or it’s cold or hot, or there’s lots of bugs and other creepy crawlies?  I don’t have to worry about all that since my “tent” is here in the living room where it’s nice ALLLLLLLL the time – there’s good takeout service thanks to Mom, and I’m comfy as can be.  In fact, yesterday I fell asleep in here.  Yep….sure did….

Camping isn’t just for humans….we cats like it too as long as it’s INSIDE.
