It’s still cold and windy and “raw” here, but
Mom thinks it’s time to break out the Spring flowers SO,
I let her have some fun with my Selfie today.
Purrsonally I think it looks just a bit “GIRLY” but I do like
to indulge my Mom once in a while!

Oh boy! Well, even though Mom deserted me this morning for an overnight, I intend to have a GREAT Friday. Mom has decorated my front porch with some colorful mums so at least I have a PRETTY spot to pout that she’s not here right? See? I’m looking on the BRIGHT side! Here’s some pix………
Mom also took an updated photo of the most UNUSUAL display we have around our house of plants that she put in this past Spring. Mom LOVES lantana…………she bought FOUR plants this Spring and planted them around the shrub by the garage………this is what they look like now (and no she didn’t even PLANT petunias there – they are just “pop-ups” from a couple of years ago when Mom had petunias there):

The trees are starting to change too! The maples and dogwoods are always first………well, poplars maybe too – they turn yellow FAST. I’ll bore you to tears with photos of THAT too one of these days. In the meantime, I’m going to go find Dad so I can annoy him with my incessant wailing about missing Mom, taking me outside on the porch, giving me treats, BLAH BLAH BLAH. Someone has to keep the old guy on his toes while Mom’s away right?

How was your weekend? Mine was swell………..my Mom and Dad worked hard to make up for deserting me last Thursday for a little overnight trip. I got bacon Saturday AND Sunday! I sure did luck out huh? I know though that the chances of being baconized before NEXT Saturday are slim. I have to just be grateful for the extra bacon this weekend and carry on………!
As for this week – you know tomorrow is Tuesday Teaser and Mom is still wrestling with her photo files to find the PURRRFECT Teaser photo. I don’t think it’s a Guest Teaser photo though – of course Mom doesn’t tell me EVERYTHING and I can’t read her writing so even if I could sneak up on her computer desk to see her notes, I’d have trouble reading her scribble. Look like ALL of us will be surprised tomorrow morning when we see the Teaser (except for her of course).
Also I want to say I’m sorry that because you all live in different time zones all ’round the world, even if I schedule the Teaser post to pop up late in the morning for HERE, it may be early in the morning (or in the middle of the night) where YOU are………..there’s just no “good” time for everybody so I’m sorry about that…………….but I’ll continue to schedule the post at a surprise time so you never know WHEN it will pop into your inbox. I think that’s kind of fun don’t you?

Mom is also going to go to the grocery store this morning to do the weekly shopping AND to the plant store afterwards so I will FINALLY get some plants on my front porch. I’ve been “plant-deprived” long enough. I love it when Mom plants stuff in big pots on the front porch – it’s like being in the garden without getting dirty (hahahahaha) and I love it. So, she promised. That means I’ll bore you with plant/front porch photos some time this week. Lucky you!
My azaleas are JUST starting to bloom!!!! YAY!
That’s about it for me – not a very exciting blog this morning is it……..well, let’s face it – my life isn’t all that exciting anyway…..at my age, it’s exciting just to WAKE UP in the morning PERIOD!
Just another Monday right? I think of Monday as “the day before Teaser Tuesday”……….I bet some of you do too! Speaking of that, I’ve got a DOOZY for you tomorrow. It you ask me, it’s downright impossible to figure out where this photo was taken – it looks a little bit spooky to me in fact. But you’ll just have to wait and see for yourself. Tee Hee
I spent the weekend enjoying VERY much seeing so many of my friends drawings by Thomas Dalsgaard Clausen, the artist at http://onedrawingdaily.com. We just think he’s incredibly talented to have captured so many of you in his drawings; some done in ballpoint pen, some pencil, india ink – a variety of media but he just has a knack for capturing the “spirit” in each of us I think! If you would like Mr. Thomas to draw you, contact him through his website. He’s on a mission to do a drawing a day for two years………I’ve put the drawing he kindly did of me on my blog front page. I just love it. Thank you again Mr. Thomas!
We had a WHOLE weekend of “Spring”……I’m a very happy boy……….I got to go out and enjoy the weather, and Mom got the lawn mowed for the first time and that’s when I know Spring has really and truly Sprung!

I hope that I’ll see you all tomorrow for the Teaser………..remember please that it gets posted every week at a DIFFERENT TIME…………….I just randomly choose a time and it gets out there to all of you………with the time differences, I’m sorry that some of you don’t get to see it as early as others or even AT ALL……but it’s still fun to tune in when you can and see everybody’s guesses and the comments………….just plain fun!!!
Doing my OWN “Spring cleaning” !
What do they bring? They bring WET, that’s what they bring…………but in a nice, soft, good for the little budding plants and trees kind of way. We’ve had one of those days – off and on gentle showers. So will we see those “May flowers” I hope so…………last year about this time Mom was already putting stuff in her planting boxes on the deck – we’re WAY behind this year…….I think she even had her little tomato plant all tucked into its’ pot on our deck. The stores have all that stuff OUT for sale, but we’re holding off until another week or so this year – Mom Nature has been in a FUNNY frame of mind!
Here’s one sight we might not get to see this year……………our azaleas in bloom. Why? Well, a combination of two things…………………
SO, Mom still plans on decorating the porch with pots of plants and of course populating her gardens with annuals – love all that color in Spring and Summer………….makes me SMILE……………
