Hear Ye, Hear Ye 

School Is Now In Session!

OOPS…..’scuze me – I just finished cleaning the classroom!

Time to Tease…….!  Remember – quick go comment on this post – you might be FIRST and win a badge!

Sometimes more than one student comments in the first 60 seconds of class so we award badges to all those who are “FIRSTS” in that first minute.    THEN we move on to the main event which is our geography test (aka THE TEASER!).    If you are new in class (and we know we have one new student with us now, Cooper Murphy) or are tuning into class via videolink from the screen in the back of the classroom – here are the rules for TEASER guesses!

1. When you make a guess as to where the photo was taken, you have to tell us what TOWN/CITY/VILLAGE as well as what COUNTRY (if not in USA) or STATE (if in the USA) it was taken!
2. When you are figuring out where the photo was taken, PLEASE don’t use some program to do it FOR you – like Google Image Search.   Loading a photo into a program that will tell you where it was taken is NOT CHALLENGING………..we are trying to challenge you……….see if you can’t figure it out for yourself using your very own brain – not the computer’s brain OK???   That also makes it FAIR for everyone.

Now, remember that we have a GUEST Teaser today and tomorrow when we tell you where the photo was taken and WHO took it, we will also tell you who guessed it right FIRST.    But there are more winners than just the FIRST RIGHT GUESSER…………if you ALSO guess right but aren’t first, you still win something and you even win  something if you are WRONG!   This is an equal opportunity classroom alright – everybody gets SOMETHING.     We’ll tell you who gets what tomorrow……….but it will be one of these…………..

Just as Suzie mentioned in her cheer, we are going to have a fun slideshow of all of you in your costumes in class next Tuesday which is HALLOWEEN…..(or TEASERWEEN as we will be calling it!).   All of us will be in costumes including Sarge and Suzie……….but YOU must send ME in email a photo of you in your Halloween costume (.jpg format please) NOT LATER THAN OCTOBER 29th!!    That is the deadline!   

Miss Dingleberry is going to give us some creepy snacks before we head outside to recess next Tuesday…………..so make sure you are here for that – meanwhile, GET TO GUESSING ON THE PHOTO ABOVE – you might win a badge.

Tuesday Teaser

Ta Da!  It’s Time!

Hello class!   Here we are again on a Tuesday – ready to take a peek at a photo or two and figure out WHERE it was taken!   BUT FIRST – run quick and comment on THIS POST – yes – THIS POST – because if you do, you  might be the FIRST COMMENTER and win a badge!   YAY!

Now today we have a GUEST TEASER and I’m going to give you TWO photos to agonize over not the usual ONE!    WOW………you should have plenty to see and figure out with TWO photos right?   Remember when it comes time for you to make your guess, you must give me ALL info – in what town/city and what country (if not USA) or what state (if USA) the photos were taken.  Got it?   Good!

Pre-Tease Monday

Preparing for the Teaser

Yes indeed, time to get ready!

Welcome to Monday class!   Thanks for being on time today – that means Sarge is happy and if Sarge is happy we ALL are happy!    We are getting together this morning in Geography Class to prepare for tomorrow when we see the Teaser photo of the week and try and guess WHERE it was taken.    WILL YOU BE READY?

THAT IS THE QUESTION!

This week’s Teaser is a GUEST TEASER again………..history has shown us that most of the time the Guest Teasers are the TOUGHER of the Teaser photos.   That means it’s a good idea if you get plenty of rest tonight before you show up in class tomorrow morning.    So no staying up late watching scary movies or reading books after “lights out” under the covers with a flashlight.  Just get some SLEEP.

However and wherever you sleep the best, that’s where you need to be tonight.    I know Assistant Professor Teddy will be doing that right Teddy?

INDEED!!

I think we should call SuzieQ over to give the class and all our visitors a bit of a PUMP UP THE VOLUME cheer – she always gets everyone in the mood (that is if she’s not extra cranky anyway for some reason) by cheering her little heart out and getting our blood pumping so Suzie – come on in!

Tuesday is almost here!
We must face it without any fear!
The photo may really be rough
But in this class we’re quite tough!
After all these weeks of class
We feel quite full of sass!
We are used to Teasers so tough
That for others they would be too rough!
Not us though we’re ready, set, GO
So come on and BRING ON THE SHOW!!!!

Gee thanks Suzie – that was a great cheer and it had NO swear words in it, and no QUESTIONABLE or vicious statements – have you had a visit with your “counselor” this week?

Anyway, Teddy and I will remind you all that tomorrow the Teaser post will go LIVE at a time different from the usual blog post from us – it will be a SURPRISE time and it will be up to YOU to get here QUICKLY and comment because whoever is the FIRST to comment on the Teaser post will get this:

Then after that’s over and done with it’s just a matter of time before someone hopefully guesses the Teaser photo location (and that must be what CITY/TOWN the photo was taken in as well as what COUNTRY or if in the USA what STATE) – the whole thing.    You might win another badge if you are the FIRST RIGHT GUESSER or even if you aren’t first but GUESS RIGHT……and believe it or not, even if you guess WRONG you will still win something and that’s unusual these days when you WIN something for LOSING right?   Right!

Well Rodney there might be.   Some of the student’s Moms occasionally bring cookies by for us and I never know ahead of time so there’s always a chance!!

Any other questions?   If not, it’s time for recess everyone.    No shoving, tripping, pushing, screaming, hitting, crying, using weapons of any kind out there on the playground – SARGE will be watching you.    Never mess with Sarge.

Teaser Tell All

Let’s TELL It All !!  

Hello Teaser fans…………..we thought MAYBE we might just get a bunch of you to head down the WRONG garden path to an answer yesterday with the photo – it was a night time shot, there were horses so it looked kind of “Western-ish”…………..but instead of that, a whole PILE of you knew it right off the bat……………..but that’s leaping ahead a bit.  Let me back up and start at the beginning!

The first person to comment yesterday actually wasn’t just ONE person – we had THREE!    Who?

So why don’t I tell you NOW who my Guest Teaser was for the photo yesterday……………………….shall I?   Here’s the photo:

Pretty spectacular photo isn’t it???   Well it was sent in by our good friend Leo from WalkandPigOut and it was taken by him at the Hermitage of El Rocio, Almonte, Province of Huelva, in Andalusia, Spain.   You may know Leo and if you do you know not only does he travel a WHOLE LOT but he lives in Spain.   He says this location is often PACKED with people so we were lucky to be able to see it in a “non-super-busy” moment!   It’s such beautiful architecture……..we had several guesses that were correct but it fooled quite a few people too with some guesses that it was Mexico, or Texas – somewhere in the USA Southwest.   Thank you Leo!   This is for you:

Now who was the smarty pants (or in this instance who were the multiple smarty-pants!) who guessed correctly FIRST????   We again had a tie – a perfect tie at the same minute as two answers arrived that were right at 8:20AM my time.   Who?

Now here’s a bit of a confession from my Mom…………..yesterday a couple of comments went into our WordPress “PENDING” file and Mom didn’t see them right away – so she told someone ELSE that THEY had been first when they actually hadn’t – the two “PENDING” comments were first!     She (and we!) felt bad about that so we want to give Flynn and his Mum Miss Jackie this HONORABLE MENTION because Mom screwed up made a boo boo and had them thinking they were first……………..SORRY FLYNN AND MISS JACKIE!!!

Tomorrow we have our weekly poetry challenge – we’re getting through the alphabet for the second time and this week we arrive at the letter “M”…………….just write a poem about something starting with the letter “M” and post a link to your poem in my comments tomorrow OR you can even just write your poem in my comments and SHARE with everyone here!!!   YAY!

Seems that my promise to make it an easier Teaser for you helped SOME OF YOU but not ALL OF YOU……………….however I will say that a LOT of you got it right.   BUTTTTT, first things first!

Thanks to a WordPress “hiccup” things were screwy when we went live yesterday and so we have kind of fixed that by having a THREE WAY TIE for FIRST COMMENTER!    Yep – another one of those multi-winning badges again this week……………WHO???     Miss Annie of Animal Couriers, Miss Jan from WagandWoofPets, and my buddy and pal Flynn from TwoDevonCats!    You ALL get one of these little beauties:

Those of you who inspected and analyzed the photo yesterday saw the palm tree so knew it was somewhere WARM………………and that’s because our Guest Teaser was visiting somewhere warm when she snapped the photo……………we give our thanks to our Guest Teaser Miss Jean from CanadianCats for this beauty of a photo which she snapped in KEY WEST, FLORIDA!!!!    A place called the Truman Annex – an interesting spot indeed.
