Happy Thursday. Another chance to voice our Thankfuls with Brian’s Hop and another chance to read some poetry from Angel Sammy. As always, if you would like to join Brian’s Hop, just click the badge above and link up to the rest of us who will share what we’re thankful for this week.
My tough old Mom and Dad are still healthy……..maybe that’s because they are doing what they should with masks and distancing and staying home as much as possible. OR maybe it’s because I’m MAGIC and have been protecting them with an impenetrable shield so they don’t get the virus or flu or ANYTHING?????? HAHAHA Anyway, that’s what I’m thankful for again this week. Also that we have BEAUTIFUL Fall weather – cool and gorgeous leaves for me to play in too!
Angel Sammy’s email to me from the Rainbow Bridge came through alright – we sure have a good wifi connection! Here’s what I got from him this week.

Hello My Earthbound Friends!
It’s time for us to forget all our worries and problems and have a relaxing time sharing poetry shall we? Writing is relaxing and poetry is a challenge for some but once you get the hang of it and let your imagination take you to the places where inspiration can be found, YOU can write a poem! I’m helping you along by giving you a photo as inspiration every week.
Here’s the photo I gave you last week to use for TODAY’S poetry………..followed by my poem for the photo. Ready?
“Floating My Boat”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©October 14, 2020
Floating on a warm, calm sea
It’s the sailing life for me!
My swan boat quietly floats
I hate noisy engine boats!
‘Round and round I turn
Sunscreen on so I don’t burn!
Mom lets me float until I cry
She’s in her lawn chair standing by
Then it’s time for my lunch and the sailing is done
This backyard pool of mine sure is fun!
This photo is so cute. I’m sure that “fuzzy blue wall” in the background is the edge of a little backyard pool this “sailor” is floating around in. Getting a little fresh air and enjoying a relaxing float in the pool. This little guy will probably grow up to be a sailboat racer or Olympic swimmer or something to do with water…….he had a safe introduction to the world of water at any rate. Did you write a poem for this photo? If you did let us know in comments so we can visit you and read yours!!
Here’s the photo I selected to be our inspiration for NEXT Thursday’s poem……………………….hope you like it…………
Mom says she has fond memories of bowling alleys back in the 60s/70s. This photo is from the 50s. Anyway, thought it might be fun to write a poem about……………….!!
Until next Thursday when we meet again – take care of yourselves, hug your pets a lot because they need it as much as you do (!), stay safe and healthy…………and I’ll see you soon.
Love, Angel Sammy

Fun poem this week Angel Sammy! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy Rainbow Bridge schedule to come visit all of us once a week. I miss you and so do Mom and Dad.
ooh we are glad you got lunch little sailor… we heard scary stories about sailors who were hungry while on sea… at the end you had to eat your swan… no good idea LOL

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA………eek on eating your swan. I have a feeling this little guy gets plenty of ACTUAL food whenever he begins wailing (not whaling). HAHA

Oh, we are so thankful that you had time with Angel Sammy, Teddy. What a lovely kitty and such a bard! Whatever that is…but he is it. We are always thankful for YOU and your safe family.
Poem:
See?
King of the Sea
with tiny toes wherever he goes.
Incognito and calm
A soothing balm
For these harried days
And for him, much praise.

A cute poem for a cute little sailor, Angel Sammy.
I too remember those fun days at the local bowling alley.

Bowling was a big deal in “the day”. What particularly made me giggle about this photo for next week was that the one girl has on a string of pearls with her sweater and skirt……..it was a big deal going to the alley back then.

That was such a cute photo for inspiration this week! After I wrote my poem, I had second thoughts: IS that a boy??? Oh well, poem is done now! Next week’s photo should be a fun one for a poem, too. I thought about that too but poets have “poetic license” – we can decide things like that and it doesn’t matter either way because it’s the message not the details! LOL

Dearest Angel Sammy I say with 100% assurance that “I’m MAGIC and have been protecting them with an impenetrable shield” is why Mom and Dad are so healthy and I’m sure you and Teddy exchange ideas too. I loved this photo today and your poem you go with it.
Oh Next week will be fun too

I think if we all keep doing what’s right – whether it’s convenient or not – we can turn things around. People say they’re TIRED of this – but if we don’t get ahold of this being TIRED won’t be the worst thing that could happen………… Hugs of safety to you too!!!!!

Staying out of Covid’s grip is the safest way to go. This means distancing and wearing masks. If we don’t…Covid may just come for a visit and stay with our friends. No way…out with you!

That can’t be a picture of a bowling alley from before the 2000’s. The cigarette smoke should be thick enough to not be able to see anything!

That’s true – there was a heavy smell of beer and a layer of smoke haze in every bowling alley……now that smokey haze is in the rest rooms. 🙂
