Happy Thankful Thursday! A big thank you always to our host – Brian at Brians Home Blog. If you’d like to join this Hop and share what you’re thankful for with everyone else, just click the badge above and link up. I have a huge thankful this week – my Dad FINALLY was called to come in to the CVS Clinic in town for his first COVID vaccination. That’s tomorrow. That means both Mom and Dad will have had their first shot. Mom’s second is Easter Sunday and I guess Dad’s will be sometime later in April. I’m glad my parents will be protected. I’m also thankful that Spring bas begun to spring here. There are a few shoots of actual grass coming up and I made sure to gnaw them down to size this morning when I was allowed out in the mist/fog with Mom and Dad. Then it started to rain so we all came back inside but it was nice “family time”.
Thursday is also Angel Sammy’s Poetic Thursday so let’s see what he sent us THIS week shall we?
♥♥♥
Hello Poetry Fans! Let’s get poetic!
Another week has zoomed by and here we are again, sharing poetry! If you are joining us for the first time – welcome – the more the merrier. If you’re an old hand at our Thursday poetry get-togethers then YAY and hopefully you wrote a poem for last week’s photo so you can share it with us. I of course wrote one – don’t I always? HAHA
Here’s the photo I gave you last week to use for THIS week’s poetry sharing fun…………..followed by my own poem for the photo:
“Going My Way?”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©March 24, 2021
For years and years I’ve heard it said
People up north must be soft in the head
Loving to ski, ice fish, skate and play in the snow
While Floridians enjoy the sun’s HOT glow!
Well I’ve had enough of carrot noses and old sweaters
I’m sure life in Florida will be SO MUCH better……..
I can relax on the beach and check out the bikinis
While sipping away on cold peach bellinis !
Then a fellow snowman friend put my mind in a muddle
He said “Hey don’t you know – in the sun you’ll become a puddle!”
HA! Some things look better on paper than they do in reality right? I’m sure Mr. Snowman likes the IDEA of being in the sun all day but he’d soon find out that would be the END of him. The life of a snowman is pretty transient anyway so maybe he’s on the right track – if you’ve gotta go – why not do it in the sun instead of on a semi-warm late winter day in the shade while you melt!!
Now I have another photo for you to use as inspiration for a poem that I hope you’ll share with us NEXT Thursday……………….and if you wrote one for today – make sure and tell us you did in comments and give us your link so we can read it.
Yipes…………………….that’s about all I can say about this photo. But I’m sure YOU can come up with something more to say in a poetic format by next Thursday right? I’m going to do the same and we’ll meet back here same time and place………….meanwhile – GET POETIC! Don’t say you can’t write a poem because you can. Trust me.

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!
Stay safe, stay happy, and come back next week for more poetic fun……..
Angelic Hugs, Angel Sammy

Good job on your poem this week Angel Sammy – as if that was unusual – your poems are great and I’m not just saying that because you’re my Angel brother either! See you next week!
we totally agree… but we are affraid that it ends not well for the white guy even when he wears no sweater…he will become a sweat-er in FL when he goes nekked….

Those kayakers seem to be thinking…Oh, MY! HOW are we going to get down there??!
I’m using my ‘thumb’
To hitch rides to the sun…
But then, I might melt,
What a conundrum!

Apparently……this group of kayakers doesn’t look like they are going to “go for it” though – I think they are probably saying “ARE WE NUTS????????? Let’s go to McD’s for a McMuffin instead!!”…..

I am glad your mom has had her first shot and your dad is getting his tomorrow. I will be relieved when most people have had both shots.
Mr. Snowman needs to rethink his plans! That is a great poem Angel Sammy.

Great poem, Angel Sammy, and you & I definitely were on the same track with the ‘puddle’ thought! Here’s the link to my blog post and poem: https://thesedaysofmine.com/2021/03/25/poetic-thursday-not-heading-south/

I’m grateful that your parents are getting their covid shots and I know what a relief that is for you. I need to schedule my second. After that eye reaction I had with the first, I am somewhat concerned however. I like that poem Angel Sammy. And the picture for the poem this next time is something to see! I’d fall over just from dizziness at looking down on rushing water!

I hope you don’t have any kind of reaction to your second shot…..which vaccine did you get? I am a Moderna Girl but David is getting Pfizer. Not that we had any choice of course! Glad you liked Angel Sam’s poem this week – everyone sort of had the same thought about their poem. That kayak photo almost makes me dizzy just LOOKING AT THE PHOTO – I can only imagine what would happen to me if I was looking down that waterfall. I hope this crew did NOT decide to “go for it” !!

Hi Ho! Yes we’re excited that Dad’s getting his first shot today. Mom and Dad will both be even more happy once they’ve had #2…………We had a couple of emails from Teaser Students suggesting that cave photo would be a good poetry “subject” including one that thought it looked like what the coronavirus would look like under a microscope!

Nope – I have another small box coming from Royal Canin thru Amazon and I ordered some metabolic/weight management wet in a seafood flavor (which Ted prefers to meat) from Amazon too – I think it was actually Hills. It’s so hard finding diet food isn’t it!

It’s terriable. Just as bad as diabetic food. I didn’t realize this kind what hard to get when I decided to put Tubby on a diet.

I think it’s really SAD…….we can’t even find food for our pets anymore…..when when you DO happen to find it, the price is ridiculous.

Oh gosh just went and looked on Amazon for the Royal Canin wet I want. It was either $140 or $120(I was in shock so can’t remember)for one box that I would pay $43 everywhere else for. Awful. I passed.

Good grief! We got a SMALL box of Royal Canin and it was nowhere near that kind of price – the world is pretty crazy when you can’t find food for your pet. I think it’s inexcusable…..and VERY sad.

Your thankfuls are purrfect! We are thankful your Dad will be vaccinated soon! And the poem was the best! We loved that picture but Mom got that Limerick about Scott the Snowman stuck in here head and could not come up with anything original!
There once was a snowman named Scott
He didn’t do well when hot
He was having some fun
When out came the sun
And now our friend Scott is not!
Have a marvellously happy day!

Angel Sammy’s poem was purrfect. We think all the poems we read had this guy ending up as a puddle. Whenever we looked at this photo, we thought Mr. Snowman had a mustache, but we guess that is supposed to be his mouth. MOL. NEXT WEEK’s photo looks darn scary. Are those people crazy? Mom says that is one adventure Periwinkle and Stinky will never be taking. Glad to hear Periwinkle and Stinky won’t be kayaking over a waterfall EVER. These people in the photo are nuts – just to be where they are is nuts much less going over. Anyway, glad you liked the snowman poems – they all were hilarious and involved Mr. Snowman’s BAD decision to head south!
