Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Standard

Another Thursday rolls around and it’s time for being THANKFUL and reading a poem Angel Sammy has sent to us…………………………

Starting with thankfuls as always – which reminds me – if you want to join us, click the badge above and link up!     I am SO VERY VERY thankful that so far we are remaining healthy in my house.   My Mom and Dad aren’t exactly “young whippersnappers” and are in the high risk group but they are doing all the important stuff like masks and distancing and pretty much just staying home.    They are making an exception next week just for one day – to celebrate their anniversary.     Other than that we are just hoping and praying that things will begin to get back to normal soon.

It’s also time to share the email I got from Rainbow Bridge courtesy of my Angel brother Sammy.   Thursday is his Poetry Day.    Below is his poem for the week:

♥♥♥

Hello My Friends!   Let’s Make Poetry!

I look forward to Thursdays so I can share a little time with all of you.   I enjoy reading the poems you’ve written which were inspired by my weekly photos – and I think many of you are having fun writing a poem a week as well.     In case you’re new to this – I give you a photo to use as inspiration every Thursday and you have a whole week before we meet again to write a poem about the photo.   Easy?  Well yes it is!    So give it a try.

Here’s last week’s photo and my poem to go with it:

“In Sickness and In Health”

That’s a phrase from a wedding vow

If you didn’t think about it then – you may think about it now

Time marches on and the years pass by

We seem to age in the blink of an eye

Love is forever – in good times or in bad

Through happiness and hard times when we’re sad

Togetherness is company we value so much

An arm around the shoulder and a gentle touch

When we’re young we rarely think about how it will be

Love gets us through everything until our souls fly free…………..

SO – I had a million thoughts when looking at this photo – I had a million ideas of how my poem would move – yet in the end I just started writing and this is what “came out”.    I bet you wrote a poem to share didn’t you.   Just tell us in COMMENTS and give us your link so we can have a PEEK!

Here’s next week’s inspiration:

Ahhhh…..a fine old English country house.    A step up from the miniature version of a couple of weeks ago with the Fairy Garden isn’t it.    Well, lots of things go through my mind when I see this………not the least of which is that I wish Mom and Dad and I lived there!

OK gang – I’ll see you next week when we’ll share some more poetry……….OK?   Until then STAY SAFE, DO THE RIGHT THING, HELP THOSE WHO NEED HELP…………………..

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

ALWAYS Love………….always…………Angel Sammy

♥♥♥

Thanks Angel Sammy for taking time out of your Bridge duties to give us a poem every week………………..sending you a hug from me, Mom and Dad.

Love, Teddy

Just a brief note as we opened our email this morning – we learned our dear friend Miss Ellen of 15andMeowing

and her husband have lost another of their dear kitty family………Polar Bear.    He had a wonderful life thanks to their rescuing him off the streets and giving him a loving home, safety, security but most of all……….LOVE.    You may follow the link posted to their blog to leave them a message.

  1. I am thankful that we also are both keeping well and taking all possible precautions, Teddy.
This is a a lovely poem, Angel Sammy. It reminds me when I first became ill and was very depressed. Ivor had to do most things for me and I said to him that he must have been regretting the sickness and health part of our vows. He got quite annoyed and said he would always take his vows seriously. He has and still is a real rock for me, and always will be.
That is a lovely house with traditional rose gardens and lavender beds.

    • Yes – my Mom knows exactly how you were feeling when you first became ill – but luckily for both of you, your husbands honored their promises to you both that they would stand by your side through EVERYTHING. I think people become stronger and more able to face things when they have that loving support. Anyway, this photo kind of says it all – only without words. The photo for next week is so – peaceful – reminds us of some of the beautiful places you and Mr. Ivor have visited for B&B “breaks” !!

    • Polar Bear was so lucky to be a Pilch-Kitty. I had a feeling you would like this Photo for Poetry Thursday……I think all of us whether we are frequent visitors to the seaside or not, like the peaceful feeling from hearing the waves and feeling sea breezes. The photo reminded me (as if I didn’t always feel it) that love is a forever thing through it all.

  2. Thank you Angel Sammy for the poem. You always make mom smile when you write. And what you wrote is very dear. I wish that poem will come true for every friend here. Mom said she enjoyed the comments too; testimony to the love in several couple’s marriages and homes in sickness and in health. ❤️
I didn’t know about Polar Bear and I will head straight there.

  4. We too are happy that our peeps are remaining healthy too. And your poem says it all – the older one gets, the more one thinks about caring for each other.

That new photo reminds us of some of the jigsaw puzzles Mom loves to do.

  5. We are very thankful you guys are being safe! We’re trying to also! Dad did a grocery pickup yesterday and took Azzy to the vet today but besides that the people are just home home home. Today Daddy rearranged our living room. We’re not so sure we enjoyed that. Your poem was great!

    • Glad you liked our poem – rearranging our “nests” is sort of a nice change – when we can’t do much else to boost our morale, moving the furniture around works! 🙂 🙂 🙂
