Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Another Thursday rolls around and it’s time for being THANKFUL and reading a poem Angel Sammy has sent to us…………………………

Starting with thankfuls as always – which reminds me – if you want to join us, click the badge above and link up!     I am SO VERY VERY thankful that so far we are remaining healthy in my house.   My Mom and Dad aren’t exactly “young whippersnappers” and are in the high risk group but they are doing all the important stuff like masks and distancing and pretty much just staying home.    They are making an exception next week just for one day – to celebrate their anniversary.     Other than that we are just hoping and praying that things will begin to get back to normal soon.

It’s also time to share the email I got from Rainbow Bridge courtesy of my Angel brother Sammy.   Thursday is his Poetry Day.    Below is his poem for the week:

Hello My Friends!   Let’s Make Poetry!

I look forward to Thursdays so I can share a little time with all of you.   I enjoy reading the poems you’ve written which were inspired by my weekly photos – and I think many of you are having fun writing a poem a week as well.     In case you’re new to this – I give you a photo to use as inspiration every Thursday and you have a whole week before we meet again to write a poem about the photo.   Easy?  Well yes it is!    So give it a try.

Here’s last week’s photo and my poem to go with it:

“In Sickness and In Health”

That’s a phrase from a wedding vow

If you didn’t think about it then – you may think about it now

Time marches on and the years pass by

We seem to age in the blink of an eye

Love is forever – in good times or in bad

Through happiness and hard times when we’re sad

Togetherness is company we value so much

An arm around the shoulder and a gentle touch

When we’re young we rarely think about how it will be

Love gets us through everything until our souls fly free…………..

SO – I had a million thoughts when looking at this photo – I had a million ideas of how my poem would move – yet in the end I just started writing and this is what “came out”.    I bet you wrote a poem to share didn’t you.   Just tell us in COMMENTS and give us your link so we can have a PEEK!

Here’s next week’s inspiration:

Ahhhh…..a fine old English country house.    A step up from the miniature version of a couple of weeks ago with the Fairy Garden isn’t it.    Well, lots of things go through my mind when I see this………not the least of which is that I wish Mom and Dad and I lived there!

OK gang – I’ll see you next week when we’ll share some more poetry……….OK?   Until then STAY SAFE, DO THE RIGHT THING, HELP THOSE WHO NEED HELP…………………..

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

ALWAYS Love………….always…………Angel Sammy

Thanks Angel Sammy for taking time out of your Bridge duties to give us a poem every week………………..sending you a hug from me, Mom and Dad.

Love, Teddy

Just a brief note as we opened our email this morning – we learned our dear friend Miss Ellen of 15andMeowing

and her husband have lost another of their dear kitty family………Polar Bear.    He had a wonderful life thanks to their rescuing him off the streets and giving him a loving home, safety, security but most of all……….LOVE.    You may follow the link posted to their blog to leave them a message.

Farewell Angel Polar Bear

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Thursday!  Time for all of us who participate in Brian’s Blog Hop to share what we are thankful for this week.    If you want to play along, click the badge above and link up with us won’t you?    I am super thankful that we actually got a couple of raindrops this week – two days we had lots of noisy thunder and some decent rain but each of the two events lasted about 15 minutes.   Not enough to break the drought OR do much for all the outside stuff like grass, trees, and shrubs!    Oh well………it’s summer.   Guess we should be happy we got ANY “wet” at all.    I’m also very thankful that my Mom and Dad are still healthy – I am keeping a CLOSE EYE on them believe me!

I also got to be thankful that Angel Sammy’s email with his poem for this week arrived.   Let’s see what he’s got to say shall we?

Time for Thursday Poetry!!

Hello friends…………….hope you are all hanging in there and making sure you are taking care of yourselves as best you can.   Staying safe – using your masks – socially distancing AND washing your hands or paws!!    If you’re doing that then GOOD ON YOU!

Last week’s poems for the little baby eating watermelon were so adorable…………but I have a feeling the poems for THIS week are going to be really fun too.    So let’s get this party started shall we?    Here’s your photo that I gave you last week to use for today’s poem:

“Uh Oh!”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell    ©July 29, 2020

Wouldn’t you know this would happen Tom?

On our way to the Senior prom?

All dressed up and we get a flat tire

We’ll probably get there just under the wire!

Now don’t get grease on your new dress pants

You’ll smear it all over ME when we’re having a dance!

Don’t worry though – it’s really not that tragic

Our Senior Prom night will still be MAGIC!

Nice that she didn’t heap too much angst on poor Tom – after all it wasn’t HIS fault they had a flat!   Talk about bad timing though.     Anyway, these two will have a wonderful evening – one of those that every human remembers always – and the flat tire will make for a really FUNNY story they can tell their kids and grandkids many years from now (assuming they survive the Prom and decide to “get hitched”!!)

Now here’s the photo I found for all of us to use to write a poem for NEXT Thursday……………..I hope you’ll participate with me – Poetic Thursday is just a pile of fun!

Mom has a friend who will love this photo I know – she’s a horse aficionado and this is a very beautiful photo indeed.    But what kind of a mood will you use for your poem for this photo everyone?   It’s rather dreamy but is she out to give her dogs exercise or is she part of a hunting party or is she meeting someone special in a clearing in the woods?????

It’s up to you to figure that part out.    I’ll have my poem ready for you next Thursday and I hope you have fun with this one………………..

Take care everyone – keep safe and well.    It’s a MUST!

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love always, Angel Teddy

Love the poem Angel Sammy and thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule every week to play poetry with me and our followers.    We have a lot of super duper poets who tune in on Thursdays don’t we?!

Hugs, Teddy

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Thursday and time for thankfuls with Brian.   If you click his badge you can go to his blog and join/link up to be thankful with all of us who participate.    First Thankful:   Thanks Brian for being so generous as to host this Hop!    Second Thankful:   Mom, Dad and I and all of our family and friends are healthy.    We have all got to remember in these times to be thankful for our health and if we DO know someone who is fighting the virus – or any other illness – we must be thankful that they are getting care and stay hopeful they will be well again soon.

I always am thankful when I see an email from Angel Sammy on Wednesday night or Thursday morning because it means he’s sent me his POEM for the week!    Here’s his email below.

It’s Thursday and I’m THANKFUL !

I’m thankful that I can still have fun with all of you who enjoy poetry even though I’m at the Rainbow Bridge and have been there since December 2016!    I was able to get a great wi-fi connection to my little brother Teddy and that’s why I can still send you and him my poem every week along with a photo for NEXT week.    It’s so much fun writing a poem with an interesting photo as inspiration isn’t it?   If you haven’t done it – give it a try – just let us know you wrote a poem and either share it in our COMMENTS or give us a link to it so we can read and enjoy it.

Here’s the photo I gave you LAST week to use as inspiration for your poem for TODAY:

“Midnight Magic”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell    ©May 13, 2020

When the park is quiet and midnight approaches

When the people have gone home in their cars, boats or coaches

The magic begins at the midnight hour

Under streetlight glow giving darkness it’s power

The carousel horses who worked hard by day

Magically slip their harness and poles and run away

To romp and run in freedom as drives their spirit

Until the dawn bell rings as only they can hear it

The signal to return to their place on the wheel

Remembering their night and the freedom they feel

But the magic returns every night in the park

When carousel horses dance in the dark………………..

Oh how I loved this photo the second I saw it.    It inspired a million thoughts and frankly – a million different poems and ideas but I settled on just this one.    There is so much magic and beauty in the artwork and I wanted to capture that with my words.    Hopefully I did!

I also found a goodie for your inspiration in writing a poem to share with us NEXT Thursday.    Here it is – I hope you like it too!

Is this a winner or WHAT?    Mom couldn’t stop laughing when she saw it after I sent it in an email to Teddy.    Anyway, have fun writing a poem inspired by this photo for next week!

Please take care of yourselves and do all the things you know you MUST do to stay safe and healthy in these tough times OK?    It’s important……….somebody somewhere NEEDS YOU to be here so do what you should do to stay safe.

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love and Rainbow Bridge Hugs, Angel Sammy

I sure loved your poem this week Angel Sammy and that photo for next week – well – it knocked my socks off (if I wore socks I mean) !!!

Love You Sammy……….From your brother Teddy

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Hi everybody.    Happy Thankful Thursday.    I think if you’re reading this blog post as well as all the other “Thankful” posts hooking up to Brian’s Hop today, you will see that in spite of all the turmoil these days, a lot of us are very thankful.     I continue to be thankful that my Mom and Dad and everyone we know is so far healthy and taking all the proper precautions to stay that way.     Mom got an order of paper masks today AND some cloth ones that take filters – so she’s thankful they came.   My Dad is thankful for the new DVDs he and Mom ordered which they are using to pass the time in the evenings after dinner………….some favorite British mysteries.     So yes we are THANKFUL here.    Also THANKFUL that Brian hosts this wonderful hop every week.

My Angel Brother Sammy wrote his weekly letter which contains his poem for Poetic Thursday too.     Hope you wrote a poem for last week’s photo too!    Here’s what HE had to say…..

Hello From The Rainbow Bridge My Friends!

I’m happy to see that you are all doing fine……………..that means all our prayers are being answered and everyone is patiently waiting out the “storm” from the virus.    Hopefully all of you have family and friends who are doing the right thing to stay safe and healthy.     We don’t have the virus up here at the Bridge but that doesn’t mean we aren’t “involved” as your Angels.  Oh yes – it’s a full time job keeping those we love safe.

But I had time to write a poem this week to go with the photo I gave you all LAST week as inspiration.    Did you write one?   If you did let us know in our comments so we can read it!    Here’s last week’s photo and my poem:

“Cookie Cutter-ville”

Never have we seen such a strange and lonely sight

Like the entire place was abandoned overnight

Fact is it was never even occupied

I’m sure the financier and builder must have cried!

They look like they all came out of a “house machine”

All facing the same way on tiny lots – no space between

A strange sight this makes – so bereft of life

Like the Chef ran out of icing for his pastry knife!

Absolutely the strangest housing development EVER…………if you really would like more of the story, you can CLICK HERE.     I can’t wait to read YOUR poems…………….and I also can’t wait to show you the photo I found for all of us to use as NEXT Thursday’s photographic inspiration for another poem.     You have a whole week to think about what you want to write!

My goodness – times have changed in the “bathing beauty” swimsuit competitions haven’t they.    Anyway, fun photo and I bet we can come up with some fun poetry for this photo for NEXT Thursday!

In the meantime – please keep your humans happy and safe………………it’s our job!!    Whether we’re at the Bridge or side by side with them in life now, we protect and guard them and always will.

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love and Angelic Hugs……….Angel Sammy

Gosh thanks Angel Sammy for keeping an eye on us…………..Mom, Dad and I all feel you with us all the time………………..we thank you for taking care of us always!

Love, Teddy

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

YAY!  Thursday is here – time to Hop with Brian ‘s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop – this month with Thanksgiving coming is the perfect month for THANKFULNESS!    This week I’m really thankful that we are enjoying a “real” Fall.    What’s “real” ?   We have crisp mornings and days and very cool nights………..and best of all – lots of beautiful leaves.   I’m sure our landscaper doesn’t like all those leaves so much since he’s the one who has to get them all OUT OF HERE (or blown into the woods) since Mom and Dad gave up that chore last year.

I’m also thankful that I received Angel Sammy’s poem in time to post it today.    I always worry that something will interrupt the wi-fi at the Bridge but I should know better – they have SPECIAL CONNECTIONS there so no worry about weather or problems…….they ALWAYS get through!!!

♥ ♥ ♥

Happy Thursday My Poetic Friends!

Time for us to share our poetry – you know – the poems we’ve written based on the photo I gave you last week for inspiration………………I bet you have some doozies don’t you – well share share share…….just put in our comments that you did a poem and give us your blog link and we’ll HAPPILY read it.    I thought it was a “cute” photo I found for you so let’s see what you did with it.

Here’s my contribution AND after it, I will give you the photo for NEXT Thursday – just think – you have a whole week to be inspired and write a poem based on the photo.   It’s a lot of fun and if you haven’t done this before – TRY TRY TRY!

“We Promised”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell      ©November 6, 2019

Once upon a time we promised devotion

We declared our love with REAL emotion

The years rolled by and yes we got older

We may not be HOT but neither did we get colder!

Our love is as bright as the moon up above

Getting older is NOT the end of our love

Our bodies have changed and our hair is now gray

But I still feel a thrill when these words you still say

“I promised to love you forever and a day….

and you’re still the one who takes my breath away”…………….

Aging is tough on people and animals.    Our health gets more fragile, our bones break more easily, our bodies wear out but in our hearts and minds, we are forever young.    I remember the day Mom and Dad helped me make my trip to the Bridge – in my head I was a kitten but my body no longer could support the kitten I was in my mind.    Mom says it’s that way for humans too.   The best thing is that one day we will all be back together again…………because WE PROMISED.

Now, who wants to see next week’s photo?

Isn’t this a GREAT photo?    It looks like this man actually has a smile on his face too.   Interesting choice of SNOW CLOTHES!    Well have some fun with this one – I think you will – I know I sure will!

So we’ll meet again next Thursday and do this again OK?    It’s a date!    Please give writing poetry a try.    There are all kinds of poetry forms – you know poetry doesn’t even have to rhyme – it just is a way to express yourself however you want to and photos give us GREAT inspiration.   We see all kinds of things and feel all kinds of things when we look at a photo!   I bet this guys is feeling COLD!!!   HAHA

See you next Thursday!   Until then – hug someone – just wait until you see them smile when you do………………………it’s magic.

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Hugs from the Bridge, Angel Sammy

♥ ♥ ♥

I hate to say goodbye but I know I’ll see you again next week Angel Sammy……………………visit me in my dreams please…………………………
