Happy Thursday world! It’s time to remember all the things we’re thankful for – just as we do every Thursday thanks to Brian’s Hop. If you’d like to join us, click his badge above and link up.
My whole family is thankful that we’re having the most beautiful Fall ever! Mom and Dad have lived here a lot longer than I have of course but I agree that it’s really pretty this year with the leaves more colorful than ever AND the weather pretty nice for Fall. Even though Mom was disappointed that it rained like mad on Halloween I was thankful because there were only a couple of trick or treaters out in the rain and we didn’t have the DING DONG DOORBELL ringing all evening. I was happy to have Mom and Dad to myself for most of the night.
We are also thankful that we received Angel Sammy’s poetry post which we will be happy to share with you!
♥ ♥ ♥
Hello my poetry friends!
Time to get together as we do once a week to share poetry! It’s a lot of fun to look at a photo and let it inspire you to write a poem about what you see and what you think about what you see in a photograph isn’t it. I read your poems every week and think how TALENTED you are too!
Here’s the photo we all used for THIS week’s poem – followed by my poem.
“House Husband”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©November 2, 2022
Watch out Honey, I’m coming through
Lift those pretty legs – thanks for the nice view!
Today’s your day to relax and be spoiled
This vacuum is noisy – it needs to be oiled!
Let me bring you an ashtray so you don’t have to get up
Now we don’t want a rug burn – do we Buttercup!
I see you gave yourself a pedicure on your dainty little feet
A day of spoiling for a hard workin’ gal is tough to beat.
My Mom and Dad both clean house – but my Mom says she remembers when she was a little girl her Dad never helped with housework. I’m sure he would have if he’d been home more but he was in the Air Force and the commute and other travel kept him away from home MOST of the time. This was a fun photo to work with and I’m anxious to read what you wrote so please let us know if you penned a poem – you can post it in comments or just give us a link where we can read it.
I have another goodie for us to use for NEXT Thursday………………..
Fun huh? This will be a good one to work with I think! Hope you will write a poem to share next Thursday when we get together again – in the meantime, let every day inspire you in some way. Life is short – don’t waste a minute of it!

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!
Love and Hugs From The Bridge………Angel Sammy

Another great poem my brother……….I wish I could write poetry but it’s all I can do to keep up with a blog every day! Sending you lots of love from this side of the clouds.
Your Teddy………
I had a hard time coming up with more than a little ditty, but here it is:
Hubby, my dear.
Please clean under my feet.
And be of good cheer
Cause when its all neat,
You’ll get your beer!
Next week reminds me of the song, Singing in the Rain, LOL! Except those ladies are dancing in all the puddles, hilarious!

Love your poem – that would be the case around here when my hubby does the cleaning – it’s that cold beer after he’s done that he really wants vs. a clean house! LOL I love the photo for next week – makes me smile!

I have to say that Ivor does help me a lot with housework, but it was unheard of in days gone by. Next week’s photo reminds of us yesterday, but there was a LOT more water!

You’re right – in the 50s or even 60s housework was not for the guys in the family. I’m glad Ivor (and my David) believe in it being a “SHARED” responsibility these days. I can just see you and Ivor dancing through the puddles yesterday to get to that bus! 🙂 🙂

This got sent before I was finished and before I even tried to correct it. “thanks to my mom” of course was what I was about to correct. But I LOVE your poem, Angel Sammy. THAT was the intent of the picture. Mom? You need to lighten up! XO to you both and your mom.

I prefer to do housework when my wife is not here so I don’t have to have her “help.” 🙂

It was a cute pic for today, and interesting that there is more than one way to ‘interpret’ it. I guess it’s that way with many photos. Love the one for next week! Thanks again for hosting each week; I always look forward to Poetic Thursday. Here’s my blog post link for today: https://thesedaysofmine.com/2022/11/03/poetic-thursday-the-bet/

Your poem is perfect – everyone had fun with this one I think and next week’s will be fun as well we think!! Today it’s in the mid-70s and literally raining leaves – the trees are getting naked by the minute now and every breeze brings another layer of color to the yard!

You must also be thankful that you didn’t have to wear a Halloween costume, T. I wore my butterfly costume all day long on Halloween. It was fun, because I am so used to being dressed up. Costumes are not as good for kitties.
Love and licks,

Sammy, that poem reminded Mom of her Mom, She laughed and laughed! Her Mom did NOT do housework (much), she worked and so it was done by a cleaning lady (once a week) and her Dad did vacuuming and cleaned the oven. Mom and her 2 sisters all had designated chores. Thanks for the fun memories! Keep on being AWESOME! Purrs Marv

Mom loved your poem. It was basically the opposite of hers. She says that when she was a kid, she and her sisters did all the chores. Her mom just did the cooking. After she dies, our mom did the cooking. Here’s the link to our poem. https://thecatonmyhead.com/switching-places-ghostly-thankful/
