Thankful that we’ve had a pretty week so far which means I must be thankful that the weatherman was WRONG with his predictions every single day this week.  He said rain – we have sun.   We do NEED rain though so I’ll be THANKFUL next Thursday if we have some before then!

I’m thankful that Angel Sammy’s poem for this week arrived last night – I’m sharing it below.   Hope you wrote a poem to share!  It makes Angel Sammy happy when people participate in his poetry day.

Wow this place is pretty cool!

Not a tub – you call it a pool!

No soap is there to get in my eyes

No heavy diaper chafing my thighs!

A bathing suit and matching cap

I’m quite the dashing chap…..

I see a little blonde with lovely curls

This swim thing is fun if there’s pretty girls!

 

Ah yes……we learn things at a very young age.   The little kid in this photo is looking quite comfortable in the water – maybe he’ll grow up to be an Olympic Swimmer one day!   Now here’s your photo for NEXT Thursday’s poetry day.    

Looking for a private weekend on the canal?   This might not be it!

 

Love this photo – the narrowboats would be a fun way to sightsee – but not if there’s a traffic jam!   Have fun with this one……….I know I will…………………….

Tuesday Teaser Class Time!

Hello Class.   Hope those of you who celebrate Memorial Day had a nice peaceful and quiet one.   We did.    It was rainy here so we had lots of time to prepare for class today.   We have a TEASER lined up for you today and guess who found it…..?   US!    That’s right, your Professors found today’s Teaser photo so watch out!

SPARK on Monday

Happy Monday.    You know what Monday means – SPARKS!  “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when she stopped blogging some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Although Annie isn’t currently blogging, a lot of us who enjoyed her SPARKS decided to keep posting SPARKS of our own.

I found two SPARKS to share today………they both say what I want to say on this day of remembering.

Sunday Selfie Hop

Happy Sunday.    You know what Sunday means – Hopping with The Cat On My Head for Sunday Selfies.    Since tomorrow is Memorial Day and because Mom didn’t take a new photo of me this week – Mom and I decided we should let her Dad – my Grandpa – be the star of our Selfie today.

My Grandpa is no longer with us – and in fact I never got to meet him – nor did Angel Sammy.    Grandpa went to the Human Bridge on October 23, 1992.   His grave is at Arlington Cemetery.    Many of you have seen photos of him before – with my Mom mostly – OR you’ve seen his high school graduation photo which my Mom has.    Since it’s Memorial Day, we’re going to have Grandpa be the star of our show.

We also aren’t doing an artsy version of Grandpa.   We just want to remember him this Memorial Day weekend…………………..Mom misses you Grandpa and I’m sorry I never got to meet you.
