SPARK on Monday

Happy Monday.  You know what Monday means – SPARK!     “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when she stopped blogging some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Although Annie isn’t currently blogging, a lot of us who enjoyed her SPARKS decided to keep posting SPARKS of our own.

I’ve told you all before that I sometimes spend an incredible amount of time looking for the “RIGHT” Spark to post on Mondays.    It has to be a part of me, something that means something to me, something I hope others can relate to, or even something amusing that might bring a smile to someone other than just me.     My SPARK for today is one that I’m pretty sure everyone “gets” but probably doesn’t think about but it’s OH SO VERY TRUE.   It doesn’t mean you have to be on the edge of your seat every second waiting to make sure you have your timing right……………it just means BE AWARE.    Time and its’ travel is quick enough in our lives without us getting so caught up in it that we MISS a chance to acknowledge what might be important – to us or others.    Don’t be in such a hurry.   Before you know it, time is UP.

Speaking about the passage of time – my sincere thanks to those of you who wished me a Happy Birthday…………………..another year has come and gone and I am grateful for each and every year I’ve had.    There were plenty of times I didn’t know if there would BE another year.    Just like my SPARK says!!!

Happy Monday!

Hugs, Pam

Sunday Selfie Hop

Happy Sunday and we’re about to join up with The Cat On My Head’s Sunday Selfie Blog Hop.   If you’d like to do the same, click the badge above and link up with us.

Miracle of miracles, Mom remembered to drag the camera out of her desk drawer and snap a photo of BIG OLD ME at her feet as she sat at her desk in her office…….so that means  as you know, yet another photo of yours truly on his back snoozing.    You’d think I’d offer up some other fun shots of me for her camera but NOOOOOOOOOOOO, my favorite thing is airing out my underside so there’s a million photos of that on the computer.    THIS one was taken yesterday morning though so at least it’s current!

See?   I bet you can’t tell from this photo that I now weigh 28 lbs.   That’s what the vet said last week.   He doesn’t lie either – even though I’ve asked him to!    That’s a whole lotta cat.   AND I’m on prescription diet cat food.   I tell ya – I’m not 100% housecat I am most definitely part cougar or mountain lion or SOMETHING!

Anyway, we popped it into Lunapic and jazzed it up a bit and here’s what we came up with this!

AND yes of course we made a puzzle out of the ARTSY version……………………………………..good luck!   Might be a bit of a challenge!    I love how my belly looks don’t you???????

Click this mini-me and get the puzzle!

SO that’s it for me – oh yes – one other little thing – well, alright it’s not a little thing it’s a BIG THING…………………today is my Mom’s birthday.    My Mom who loves me, spoils me, puts up with my silliness, hugs me even though I hate hugs, keeps me calm when we’re on the way to the vet in the car, keeps me company outside and plays “throw the acorn” with me.   Yep – she’s another year older………and wiser……….and I hope she’s around for another million years because I love her!

Friendly Fill-Ins Hop

Alright!  Time for our weekly fill-in-the-blanks challenge.    Lots of fun – four sentences with blanks to fill with our own words then join the HOP to share info.    We do learn a lot about our friends this way so give it a whirl.  You can click the badge above and do your fill-ins and have fun with the rest of us.     My Mom and I shared “fill-in” duty this week.  If the words are my Mom’s they’re in RED and if I’m filling in the blank my words are in BLUE.

This week’s four sentences are:

1. Getting old should come with detailed instructions!
2. And just like that summer disappears and fall arrives – I like almost all weather as long as I can go outside.
3. I get funny looks from others when I gather up stray grocery carts in the grocery store parking lot and push them up where they belong – a lot of people seem to think once they get their groceries out of the cart they can just LEAVE it where it is (usually blocking a parking spot!!).
4. I once tried to climb a tree, and I failed

There you have it – another Friday filling in event courtesy of Mom and me………………..I like sharing the duty with my Mom.    Just my way of keeping her entertained.   HAHA

Hugs, Teddy

Thankfuls, Poetry and MORE on Thursday

What a busy day today is in the blogosphere – we have our usual Thankful Thursday, our usual Poetic Thursday AND today is also REMEMBER ME Thursday.   We’ll try to cover everything!

We’re always happy when Brian’s Thankful Thursday Hop is on our agenda because it is VERY important to be thankful for things we have in our lives.   We are very blessed so we want to voice our happiness about that every week.    If you’d like to join the Hop – just click the badge above and link up.     We’re thankful for the stretch of incredible weather we’ve had because it’s allowed ME to go outside more than usual and Mom and Dad have indulged me and let me even fall asleep under my favorite Dwarf Maple Tree and have a nap (under their supervision of course).   I’m also thankful that the mornings are in the 50s – it’s a great thing to have a frosty morning again.    I’m thankful that I have my vet visit over with and got the shot I needed in order to stay at the Paws A While Pet Hotel while Mom and Dad are on vacation next month too.   Done!

For poetry – we always look forward to Angel Sammy’s poem that he sends and that I share with you so let’s do that next THEN we’ll get to REMEMBER ME THURSDAY.

Hi Poetry Fans – it’s OUR day!

Thursday means poetry – and I do hope that you used the photo I gave you last Thursday as the “springboard” for a fabulous and fun poem to share with us today here on the Poetry Podium!

Below is the photo I gave you to use followed by my poem for the photo.  If you wrote a poem this week – let us know in comments (or give us your link) because we would LOVE LOVE LOVE to read your work.

The Mountain and the Mole Hill

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell      ©September 21, 2022

Hey little guy you’ll not move me

I’m the great big dog and you’re a little flea!

I am somewhat of an immovable object

Pushing me down will be a HUGE project!

I admire your determination and standing your ground

But you need to put on about three hundred pounds!

I absolutely love that photo – when I saw it I knew it would be FUN to work with…………………and it was – I’m sure you thought so too and I hope you wrote a poem for the photo.    I have another gem for you for NEXT Thursday!

Cute photo right?   Do you remember seeing a dinosaur for the first time?   Hard to believe there were creatures so huge when you’re a little kid.    This little one isn’t too sure about touching those teeth!

So we’ll get together again next Thursday – you have a week to write a poem………..YOU CAN DO THIS!

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

See you soon – until then be kind, be safe and be happy!

Love, Angel Sammy

And now let’s talk about the other special occasion today – REMEMBER ME THURSDAY.

Now going into its tenth year, Remember Me Thursday® aims to unite individuals and pet adoption organizations around the world to be an unstoppable, integrated voice for orphan pets in need of forever homes.

“Over a million beautiful, adoptable pets will lose their lives in 2022,” states Mike Arms, President and CEO of Helen Woodward Animal Center. “We all come from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, but together, we can raise our voices and share one life-saving message and literally save millions of pets on this one day.”

Want to find out ways you can honor this most special day in the lives of so many people AND adoptable pets?    Visit this website  (CLICK HERE) – light a candle while you’re there – and remember there are so many lives that can be saved by sharing a little love.

My Angel brother Sammy and I were adopted from a shelter here in our County and had we not been adopted – even though it was a no kill shelter – it’s very hard to say what our lives would have been without the love and willingness to help that we received from our Mom and Dad.

Please be part of the solution of so many orphaned pets – open your heart – your life and THEIRS will never be the same!

SPARK on Monday

Monday SPARK time.  So what’s this SPARK thing?   “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when she stopped blogging some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Although Annie isn’t currently blogging, a lot of us who enjoyed her SPARKS decided to keep posting SPARKS of our own.

I saw this graphic on Facebook last week and it was EXACTLY what I wanted for a SPARK this week.

Oh boy is this ever RIGHT ON!    I think it’s almost the only way you can live a really full life.   Stop trying to fix things and just move on.   You do what you can and let it go.   Well I wish I’d had this imprinted on my brain YEARS ago.   Better late than never – right?

Monday Hugs, Pam
