It’s Friday and time for us to fill-in some blanks! The sentences are given to us every week by our co-hosts, Four-Legged Furballs and 15andMeowing. If you click the badge above, you will go to 15andMeowing and you can join in the hop if you’d like to. Each of our co-hosts provides two sentences and they are ALWAYS fun to fill-in!
This week Mom and I BOTH filled in – her fill-ins are in GREEN and mine are in RED!
1. I refuse to shop in a Mall – I prefer going into little shops to do my shopping – I know a Mall is MUCH more convenient but I really enjoy my “small town” shopping a LOT more!.
2. A store I wouldn’t mind being trapped in overnight is a bedding store – just think of all those comfy spots to snooze in!!!!
3. I’m dreaming of turkey and “fixins” again for Christmas dinner – yes I know we just did that for Thanksgiving but I go through it ALL again for Christmas.
4. I wouldn’t touch getting in a pet carrier with a thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole. (I like being on my harness and leash WAY better if I have to go somewhere!)
♥
There you have it. Mom and I both filling in on a Friday. I know this weekend we will be busy around my house. Mom says it’s time to “Christmasize” the house and front porch. I like having a Christmas tree and my stocking will be on the mantle along with Mom and Dad’s. Santa Paws will visit me this year – it will only be my SECOND Christmas here in my forever home. LUCKY ME!
Ho Ho Ho

I agree with your mom, Teddy. I don’t like shopping in malls either. Apart from anything else, they all have the same shops whichever town or city you go to. The small shops have lots of different things you don’t see anywhere else. We also don’t go to Starbucks or any of the big chains and prefer to go to the small locally run cafes. Much friendlier, and better value too!

You’re right Miss Jackie….big stores in big malls are rather impersonal somehow but “small town” markets and shops are so much more friendly! You do see the same stuff in the big stores but in small shops you see unique things that you know someone will appreciate!!

a bedding store? that is no bad idea… what will we do after we ate chocolate or tried shoes when locked in such a store… the night can be long… specially with new shoes and chocolate in your belly ;O)

My cats say you’ve made a good choice on question 2. I think I would prefer the butcher’s shop! But the bedding store would be nice after I’ve eaten my fill. 😀

Oh yes a butcher shop might be interesting…..it’s hard to choose….I guess it’s all about priorities (!)!!

I prefer to be on my leash and harness when I go outside too. Unfortunately, there’s nobody to hold the other end of the leash, so all I do is pull myself around with it all day…

Mom avoids the Mall too. Actually, she thinks the whole Mall is geared to the 20 year old and under crowd!!

It’s true….it’s more of a fashion show with the kids there than it is a place to buy things you need. Mom admits that if she can’t find it in one of our shops in town, she gets it from the internet! Malls??? Won’t go in one PERIOD!!

Local stores will love you Pam! We have a bit of a difficult time here in France at the moment. A movement called the Gilets Jaunes (Yellow Jackets) has started a protest against the steep rise in tax on diesel and petrol. It involves roads into towns, motorways and centres of towns being blocked every Saturday. The poor shopkeepers are having a very hard time making a living, especially at this time of year 😦 We’re trying to buy everything locally, when we can get to the shops!

Oh yes – we’ve read about the Yellow Jackets and I must say the gas costs there are out of sight. Right now in my town we pay $2.29 for a gallon of gas and that’s DOWN about 30 cents from four months ago. I can remember MANY YEARS ago (!) when gas was sixteen cents a gallon when it was on sale. Imagine that. Buying locally is good to support the “little guy” who has a business but if you don’t have “local” then it’s tough isn’t it. Hopefully something will change there soon………………

My peep’s father knew the oil business and said “Gasoline is a buy, only the tax is high”, He moved from a state where right on the pump was a breakdown, this much for gas itself, this much for state this, this much for federal this. When he moved to another state, they didn’t have a breakdown. He asked and was told that doing so was illegal and people might figure out that they were charging sales tax on the other taxes.

Somehow that doesn’t surprise me one bit! The oil business is pretty darn slick (pun intended).

Great fill-ins! We usually go to the mall to eat, actually. There are a lot of restaurants located at the mall. But we rarely ever venture inside to go shopping.

The food court in a mall is just about the only GOOD place in a Mall – you can have a little of this and a little of that for your meal………. and it’s great for people watching while you eat too!!

YEP – that’s why I won’t go near one. I think small shops are so much more interesting…….I can’t even remember that last time I was in a Mall! Maybe that’s a good thing!

Mom doesn’t like the malls anymore either. Much easier to run into a shop and then back to the car. Most of our malls have junky shops now anyway.
Misty and Timber don’t mind “carriers” or crates, but Lightning wants no part of them.

A bedding store sounds like a meowvolous idea. Our mom totally agrees with your mom. She DOES NOT like the mall. We need to get Mom to look for our Christmas badge Miss Barbara made for us. Mom started the Christmas decs today and almost finished the indoor garland. The mantle is done and all our stocking are hung. I hope to see my stocking hung today – Mom and Dad are going to start decorating and will probably get it all done. Once they start they’re like crazy people getting everything done and the boxes put away. Then of course presents will start appearing under the tree and MY stocking will get lumps in it! (not coal!)

What great answers! I wouldn’t mind a bedding store neither. TW says cooking a turkey for 2 is too much work to do it twice a year. Gramma would have it for Christmas too. I may be visiting you for Christmas.

Teddy, you and your Mom have such purrfect fill-ins! A bedding store sounds like the most cozy place to have a slumber party. And we’re like you and often have nearly identical feasts for Thanksgiving and Christmas. But, since we love all that food, we don’t mind one bit! Purrs and warm wishes!

I say if it’s good enough to have once, it’s even better to have it twice (those great big feasts!!!). Thanks for being a co-host for Filling In – everyone loves Fridays!!
