Hi Everybody! Oh not THAT kind of crash…………I mean the kind where all you do is lie around and relax and rest and hang out and SLEEP……………BECAUSE IT’S TOO DANGED HOT TO DO ANYTHING ELSE!!!
My Cousin Toby used to have a little natural pool in his backyard and THIS is how he kept cool!
Yesterday we were somewhere in the range of 105 – which is terribly hot when there’s not even a breath of air out there. And there wasn’t. Not a breeze…….But undaunted by the heat I bugged Mom two or three times to come out on the front porch with me – just BECAUSE……..I wanted to check things out – take a sniff of fresh air – make sure there were no intruders – you know – the usual “I’m guarding this house” kind of stuff.
Yikes – even the SHADE is hot!
Even in the shade on the front porch it was all I could do to handle a ten minute sit down on the concrete! I didn’t see a squirrel frolicking in the grass – no birds flying around – not a chirp or peep up in the trees even. Everybody was in SIESTA mode I think.
No sign of intruders AT ALL!
Today we’re having more of the same…………so I’ll be taking it easy………..my Mom and Dad have NO outdoor plans either. We’ll all just have a QUIET, CRASH OUT, KIND OF CATURDAY!
What? You want to know if I want to go outside? Are you CRAZY Mom?????
Boring? Yep……….but SMART when it’s this hot!!

Pee Ess……………Yesterday we learned that little MJ in the UK has been diagnosed with diabetes so her adoption to the wonderful forever home she had lined up is now on hold again. Hopefully she can be started on treatment and will find a wonderful family who knows of her condition and STILL wants to adopt her…………so keep your paws crossed for little MJ……..Savannah and Leo and MANY other people worked very hard to find a home for her and now we’re all back at “Square One”! Hang in there MJ………….

Yes it is……..but I think something good will still happen – somewhere in the UK there’s someone who has had a diabetic cat before and knows how to handle things and MJ will get her forever home……we all hope so!

We’ll say purrayers for little MJ. Mommy’s former kitty, Beezy, was diabetic and lived for a long time after they found out. Of course, my pawrents gave him shots every day. They’re good pawrents….!

We are suppose be hot too AGAIN but not as hot as yesterday, maybe 95 today. We have a two hour drive to St. Louis today if we don’t chicken out and stay home. It is HOT!!!! Sad about MJ. I don’t think I could take in a kitty I had to give shots to. I had to give shots to Z Cat every day towards the end and she started running away from me. Broke my heart. AND I am a good gentle shot giver. I have had to give shots to CH, our Holly Cat from way back, I gave shots to my horses and I worked as a vet assistant for a bit(no shot giving as a va). I think she just hated how they made her feel after the shot.
I can’t believe how green your grass is. Our grass is burned up and we NEED rain!
Take it easy today Sammy and keep it cool! A cold front is supposedly on the way!

I think the hard part about dealing with animals who must have some kind of daily treatment is a lot of them do tend to dread it so much they will run away from us – it’s an awful feeling I agree…..they just don’t WANT to be hurt (or especially pilled!) and I can’t blame them. It’s tough. Very. The green grass photo is OLD (tee hee)……it’s from early Spring a few years ago when our lawn looked grand. You don’t WANT to see it now – trust me – it’s brown and crunchy like yours and YES we all need rain. I just checked the week’s weather forecast and while they have t-storms in every single day’s forecast the chances are below 50% every single dingy darn day! BOO!
I’m keeping cool – Sammy too – the best place to be is INSIDE so that’s what we’re doin’ ! Have a good trip to St. Louis – at least it will be cool in the car! Hee Hee

We had a thunderstorm yesterday but it is still hot an muggy. The ice cubes in my bowl are gone in zilch. I was very sad as I read about MJ yesterday – but I hope she will find a furever home soon. She is such a cute girl.

Even the t-storms don’t cool things down – they just turn the air into a sauna! We were sad about MJ too – poor little thing sure deserves a furrrrever home and Miss Stella had lined up a GREAT one on a farm but the people can’t give MJ the daily care that she’d need with her diabetes……I hope somebody there decides that they CAN help her though and she won’t have to spend too long at the Blue Cross facility. She’s a beautiful panther lady I agree!

Hi Austin….yep – we’ve got AC alright and it IS comfy inside but incredibly icky outdoors. A guy could get fried paws out there and I’m interested in keeping my paws fry-free so am staying IN!

Well, we MIGHT get some rain – the word MIGHT was said about 50 times in the weather report so it’s sounding a little “IFFY” at best! I’m trying to stay hopeful from my cool spot on the kitchen linoleum!

Oh Misaki it’s just AWFUL here…..I keep going to the door to ask Mom to open it hoping that something miraculous has happened out there and it’s not 100 degrees!!! Sadly that hasn’t been the case. We are hoping for some rain this coming week and MAYBE – just MAYBE – slightly cooler temps. Sigh. Are any of us ever really HAPPY with our weather????

Hi there!! Gosh, for a second I just put my little ginger face up to the computer and felt that Australian chill – but then I backed up and got the heat again. DARN! Thanks anyway. Toby looked pretty hilarious in the pond didn’t he? He does look cool though……we’re hoping MJ’s diabetes doesn’t scare everyone away too – she SO deserves a happy home in the UK!

Mom and I just came in from doing a very quick “out” while she watered the back garden and filled the birdfeeders and birdbath. Then about five minutes after we came back in, a herd of deer came through the woods and ate everything and drank all the water! We can’t keep up! HAHAHAHAHAHA

Yow last week we had da bad heat n humidity n it felt well around 105 F Mum told me. Me waz so sick Mum wuud not let me out in da Condo in da daytime; only at nite n only fer half an hour…diz weekend waz much bettur n me waz out Caturday n Sunnyday & me bin out diz evenin hangin wif Cheekz da Chipmunk n da sparrowz….it iz a bit humid but not so bad me iz stuck in! 😉

Yow sammy…me iz a bit stronger today den yesturday. Able t eat a bit more n me bowelz not grumblin n rumblin like a volcano….diz iz a GUUD fing!! Still a bit tired tho’ so me must go reat again…Mum iz still not 100% either so me tryin to get her to rest alot too!!! We had company over da weekend n DEY were sick so Mum had to be a Nurse to her furend n she iz stressed out….so we iz tryin to have a quiet week! 😉
