Friendly Fill-Ins and Stuff

“And Stuff??”

Well the stuff is housecleaning….but the fill-ins are way more fun so let’s start with that!

The Fill-Ins is a really FUN blog hop hosted by Ellen of 15andMeowing and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader.    Do you “fill in” on Fridays???  If so, goodie – if not – give it a try!   Just visit one of their blogs and use the LINKY TOOL to hook up to the hop and share how YOU have filled in their challenge sentences.    That’s what I’m doing……..wanna see how I did????   Today was Mom’s turn to fill-in and her answers are in RED!

1. My nickname is “PJ” (stands for Pamela June!).
2. The first thing I ever won was a lamp at bingo at the Selma Air Force Base (Alabama) Officers Club bingo night (I was 9 or 10 at the time – I wasn’t all that thrilled to win a LAMP!).
3. I have never been to see the Pyramids – sadly things are so difficult in that part of the world now I may never get to see them but I always DREAMED of going since I was a very little girl .

4. Next year I will turn 70 – EEEEEEEEK! .

Thanks Mom – next week it’s MY turn!

Now, just in case you wanna know how the housecleaning is going today – it’s pretty much “same old thing” – the Broomhildas are doing an amazing job of getting all the dust bunnies out from under the beds:

AND, they found my toy stash behind the sofa…………. (darn)

And then can you believe it?   They actually asked ME to help by taking care of the clogged toilet in the downstairs bathroom!    Just because I unrolled a whole roll of TP into it and flushed – gosh – can’t a guy have ANY fun around here??

Remember, you too can use the Broomhildas for cleaning – they are available at their toll free number – they are highly recommended by me and Mom……….they may not be pretty but they get the job done!

Have a super duper Friday!!!!!!    Tomorrow is – BACON DAY and I have a brand new BACON MEME to share that some wonderful friends of mine made JUST FOR ME!    See you then!

Doing some cleaning of my own!

Doing some cleaning of my own!

Friendly Fill-Ins!

Time for Friendly Fill-Ins and Cleaning House

Hello!    While the Broomhildas are here busily cleaning my house from a whole week of fur, dust, and more fur (!), I thought I’d take a few minutes to do the Friendly Friday Fill-Ins which are hosted by my friends Miss Ellen of 15andmeowing and Miss Annie of McGuffy’s Reader.    This is a fun blog hop – if you don’t know about it, it’s easy peasy – they give us four sentences to fill in with our own answers then we hop around to see what everyone else had to say – it’s always fun to see.

Here are this week’s questions, and this week I myself decided to answer since I let Mom answer LAST week!   My “fill-ins” are in BLUE!

Friendly Fill-Ins Week 13

1. I am most proud of reaching the ripe old age of “almost” 17 – not bad for a feral kitten trapped in the wild!
2. I am embarrassed to admit sometimes I miss the litterbox even though Mom got a high-sided one for me in my old age (oops).

3. My super-power might be sensing when company is coming – somehow I just know and I’ll head for the basement stairs.

4. I really wish I could live for at least 17 more years – I’m enjoying myself!.

There you have it!  Another week of filling in – done.    You can click on the badge below to visit and join the Linky Tool if you’d like to post your OWN fill-ins or you can just hop around and visit all the other “Filler-Inners” and see what they said!
Now if you’ll pardon me, I think I’ll go see if the Broomhildas are about finished………..I’ve been waiting for them to be done so I can curl up and catch up on napping.   When they’re here, it’s not exactly QUIET – ya know what I mean???

Talk about NOISY!

Talk about NOISY!

We're just about finished Sammy - hang in there!

We’re just about finished Sammy – hang in there!

Yes Sammy - the vacuum cleaner is FINISHED!

EXCELLENT!   Time for my nap!

Ahhhh......NAP TIME!

Ahhhh……NAP TIME!

Happy Friday….. Hugs, Sammy

Filling In and Cleaning House

The FUN part of Friday is the

Friendly Fill-Ins hosted by

15andMeowing and McGuffy’s Reader!

I decided to be sweet and let my Mom fill in this week – we’re kind of taking turns and I think it’s HER turn!    Here are our challenge sentences of the week!   Mom’s responses are in GREEEEEEEN!

1. One quirk I have is ALWAYS having candles at the dinner table for meals!.

2. My favorite comic strip is probably one most people aren’t familiar with – “Mike Du Jour” written by Mike Lester – it cracks me up!.

3. I am really happy almost ALL the time – it’s just ME……but I’m also reall happy that my husband and I found Sammy at the shelter before anyone else did!.
4. If I could go anywhere on a road trip, I would go to Niagara Falls – have always wanted to see them!

OK Mom – thanks for filling in – next week it’s MY turn!!!    Thanks to Annie of McGuffy’s and Ellen of 15andMeowing for this fun fill-in every Friday!

Now – onward to the Friday HouseCleaning Extravaganza!    It was a big thrill to see the Broomhildas bustling around all three floors of my hacienda cleaning here, there, and everywhere.   They are a truly impressive cleaning machine and we’re getting afraid that they will be so popular soon that we’ll have to go back to cleaning this place OURSELVES (gasp!).

Or maybe these two would be interested in the job?

Or maybe these two would be interested in the job?

The Broomhildas said that they’ve been getting tons of calls on their 1-800 number ever since we posted their business card here on my blog……………if you missed it, here it is!

The Broomhildas have their OWN business now! They rate "FOUR PAWS" too so you know they're good!

The Broomhildas have their OWN business now! They rate “FOUR PAWS” too so you know they’re good!

They got all those nasty spots too where spiders hide and where I’ve stashed my toys and private stuff and even my toy box/wagon gets reorganized before they leave for the day!

My toy box is actually a toy WAGON!

Thank you Broomhildas for giving us a nice clean house every Friday……otherwise – well – who knows WHAT this place would look like!     Do you help your Mom with the housecleaning????????  Do you keep your toys nice and neat??????

Oh yeah....one last thing....putting new toilet paper in the human pottybox room!

Filling In on Fridays!

It’s that time again!   FRIDAY!   McGuffy’s Reader and 15andMeowing co-host this fun event every single Friday and we’re getting into the swing of it again this week…………..this week I thought I’d do the “filling in” myself instead of letting Mom do it…………..we certainly do have different thoughts on just about everything except maybe how wonderful PETS are – we agree on that one!

So, here are the four sentences to be “filled in” – and my fill-ins are in BLUE today!

Friendly Fill-Ins, Week 9, July 8, 2016:

1. Training my humans was easier than I expected.

2. Bucket list: 1. Celebrate my 17th birthday  2. Be in charge of bacon distribution when I get to the Rainbow Bridge some day 3. In my next life, I want to be lucky enough to be adopted by humans JUST like my Mom and Dad.

 3. I cannot believe I’ve been blogging since 2011 – where has the time gone?.
4. If I could stay here forever, I would love to!.

Now that was fun – and I’m going to head around to some of the other bloggers who pawticipate in this and see how THEY filled in!    You can join in you know – all you have to do is watch for the sentences to be posted on one of the host blogs (usually on the Thursday before) and fill in – join in the hop on their blogs – and that’s that…………..It’s amazing how much we learn about each other in an exercise like this……..Mom and I switch off (or sometimes answer together) every week.

Give it a whirl – it’s tons of fun…………………….Speaking of fun – I’m watching the cleaning crew right now – they’re whirling around the house like crazy people getting the place spic and span for another week……………I’m glad I can watch from afar………..I rarely get asked to do any cleaning these days – one of the joys of being OLD I think!

It’s exhausting just watching all this activity – YAWN – it’s inspired me to go find a nice cool corner for a nap……………a long one…………maybe lasting until dinner time!!!!!!

Happy Friday!

Hugs, Sammy

Filling In and Cleaning

I’m Filling In with 15andmeowing and McGuffy’s Reader!

The sentences we needed to fill in are below AND I’m letting Mom fill them in today since I did last week’s!   My fill-ins are in RED!

1. My feelings get hurt when Mom yells at me (although that’s a RARE occasion!).
2. I am excited about new bags of treats when Mom gets one out of the pantry – I go crazy!
3. Eat first, then have a nice long nap.
4. One time, I ran off and Mom couldn’t catch me down in the woods, that’s why I wear a harness and leash now!
That’s fun – I hope you are joining in on this fun Friday tradition – add your fill-ins to the one of the linkies at the above blogs who are our hosts and have some fun!   Even if you don’t play along, you can visit everyone else’s posts there!
Now for the MAIN EVENT today – cleaning the house!
So we had a couple of other cleaners who work for the same company as the Broomhildas come by today to help us get the house ship-shape………………..

Monster Day and A HOP!

The Broomhildas won’t be in charge of this activity today – they are on vacation so we had to get a substitute to help us get the house whipped into shape today.   When we told the maid service what we were looking for, they said they only had a couple of candidates……..I said “send ’em on over”…………five minutes later I answered the door:

Hello!  We’re from ACME Cleaners………Here’s our card:

We’re Sissy and Prissy and today we’re having a two for one sale…………we’ll both be filling in for you!   We even have a couple of others helping us out for FREE!   One is a whiz at cleaning dishes:

CLEANINGBULLDOGPUTTINGDISHESAWAYThen we have a couple who help us move buckets and cleaning equipment around for us:

CLEANINGSUPERVISORWe even have a supervisor!!!!!

So you all just sit back and relax and we’ll have your house cleaned in NO TIME……………………….we have “special equipment” that makes short work of the job!

Before you knew it – they truly HAD cleaned the whole house – even with all their noisy machinery none of us minded because they finished in like FIFTEEN MINUTES!    That’s right – three floors of house!

WHAT? You're done? I was gonna help out!

WHAT? You’re done? I was gonna help out!

So that’s that!   This crew won’t be back next week but who the heck knows if the Broomhildas will return or if we’ll get a whole pile of NEW cleaner-uppers?   I swear – NEVER a dull moment in “THE HOUSE OF KIMMELL”……………

Before I go……….

I wanted to pawticipate in my friends from 15andmeowing and McGuffy’s Reader who are co-hosting a fun blog hop on Fridays called FRIDAY FILL-INS!

FILLINSThey have four sentences and you just fill in the blanks then everybody sees what kinds of sentences we’ve constructed because it tells a LOT about us and it’s fun!   This Friday’s sentences are below and my  Mom’s “fill-ins” are in red!   You should join in and have some fun “filling in” !

  1.  Whatever happened to Friday night date night?
  2. I always have a cookout with all the trimmings for just me and my husband (and Sam) on Memorial Day ( or your country’s equivalent).

Ding Dong – Broomhildas Calling!

They’re HERE!

Oh…..it’s you!

The Broomhildas have arrived………Mr. and Mrs. and Baby Boomer again – their Kitty Nanny returns from vacation next week so Boomer won’t be back.    No matter how CUTE he is!   SuzieQ has a crush on him which could mean TROUBLE.

Mrs. Broomhilda

So now the fun begins……….I’m staying one step ahead of the cleaning crew today……….yep – I’ve already been in the bathroom……

That’s done so they won’t have to go in there to clean.   See?   Aren’t I helpful?    I even helped Mom pull the sofa out from the wall for them……………

uhoh......so that's where Dad's carkeys have been....WHOOPS

uhoh……so that’s where Dad’s carkeys have been….WHOOPS

I’m hoping they finish and get out of here before nap time.   I don’t want to worry about them finding me in my hiding spot or disturbing me at all…………….I’ll just pop on my headphones just in case and groove while they hoove(r).   HA HA HA

I sure do lead an exciting life don’t I?????

Well maybe not THAT excited but for an old guy, pretty danged exciting!   I hope you have an EXCITING Friday!!

Bye Bye Broomhildas!

Clean Team

You know who the Clean Team is here!

The Broomhildas

Mrs. Broomhilda

Mrs. Broomhilda

Mr. Broomhilda

Mr. Broomhilda

Such a lovely couple they are…….AND when they’re not arguing over who’s doing a better job of cleaning, they are quite nice really.  I’m getting used to them (what’s that say about me?!).   Today they showed up with a surprise though…………when I opened the door to let them in, they had a little something with them!

Their regular babysitter couldn’t make it to their house today so they had to bring their baby along………….A baby broom!   I asked what his name was and just then the phone rang so I never got the answer……maybe they named him “Whisk” since he’s a small Broom?   Naaaa……couldn’t have.

Anyway, they got to work right away round here…………………….

Before I knew it, they were packing up their cleaning stuff and were out of here……….so I don’t know what their kid’s name is!     Bobby?  Bongo?  Bruiser?  Barney?  Baby B?   Bubba?  Maybe I can ask them next week when they come.

My Dad took care of the one cleaning duty the Broomhildas DON'T do when they're here!

Good thing Mom wasn't involved....she has a "different" outlook on cleaning!

Good thing Mom wasn’t involved….she has a “different” outlook on cleaning!

Well that’s the excitement around here today – I’m guessing that no matter WHAT’s going on at your house, it’s more FUN than my house is today.   Yep……I’m guessing it’s the truth!

All that snoopervising was exhausting.....

All that snoopervising was exhausting…..

My Mom told me to put this in today's blog even if it's not got anything to do with our post. She just likes it......Mom, you're weird!

The Broomhildas

Oh boy………………talk about taking my life in my hands – having the cleaners in on Fridays definitely is doing just that when they are two bulldogs who are bossy and want me to stay out of the way!

Mrs. Broomhilda

Mrs. Broomhilda

Mr. Broomhilda

Mr. Broomhilda

Needless to say I do stay out of the way……………….sometimes on the stairs……….sometimes in the guest room……..sometimes in Mom’s room…………even the basement.

Vacuum can't reach up here!!

Vacuum can’t reach up here!!

Or here in the guest room (I'm under the bed)

Or here in the guest room (I’m under the bed)

Or on Mom's bed!

Or on Mom’s bed!

I’m SAFE!!!!!

Mom wants very much to do some cleaning OUTSIDE – which means “mow the lawn” – but with all the rain we’ve had – every single day – she can’t mow………………so we’re hoping at least for a few hours this weekend the sun will manage to break through the rain clouds and let Mom mow at last.

I did have to SHOOOO a few dust bunnies out from under the guest room bed though before I could move in there for a snoozie……….

I hope you enjoyed seeing our so-called “gardens” in the slideshow yesterday…….the plants are just teeny weeny right now but before you know it they’ll look like something I betcha!   Stay tuned because I plan to update from time to time.    Meanwhile, Mom was looking at some ideas for a new planter to put on our front porch.   Something artsy-fartsy and different…..there are some thrift shops around here and they might have something we can use – aren’t these cool ideas?

Well I hear Mrs. Broomhilda yelling at Mr. Broomhilda to bring the vacuum and stuff UPSTAIRS so now it’s time for me to move DOWNSTAIRS……………wish me luck!

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Hugs, Sammy

Vrooooom With A Broom!

It’s that time again!

Ah yes….the day we all love to hate unless you’re like me and no longer hear all that racket all the “cleaning machinery” makes.   I knew if I thought long and hard I could come up with something POSITIVE to say about my hearing loss!   HAHAHA

At least the cleaning crew is somewhat entertaining – Broomhilda has now introduced her helper/husband Mr. Broomhilda and the two of them are real work horses (oops I mean work bulldogs):

Mrs. Broomhilda

Mrs. Broomhilda

Mr. Broomhilda

Mr. Broomhilda

What a team………………Mom and I think that these two SCARE the dirt/dust away and don’t even NEED to use their cleaning equipment.   HAHA…….

I will make my rounds behind them making sure they do a good job…………….I won’t stand for any foolishness!   Everything MUST be done and done well!

I am a constant reminder to my Mom and Dad that having ME is a whole lot better than having things like dishwashers and refrigerators and stuff that need to be kept clean and tidy!

As for Mom asking me to help out the cleaning crew, or get out of the way because they’re coming to clean MY nap spots up – know what I say to that?????

SEE?  Monster Day is a piece of cake (with cat treats on top!)

Hugs, Sam the Snoopervisor
