Pre-Teaserween Monday

Hello Students!  Ready for class?

Yes – we are all present and accounted for Sarge!

Good because the Professors are here!

Good Morning – just a little reminder

that tomorrow is TEASERWEEN……

the day we all get to dress up in our costumes

and have spooky snacks AND get a photo to figure out too!

The Teaser photo tomorrow will be a GUEST TEASER………………….and we will also have a very special slideshow of you students who wanted to be in the official DING DONG SCHOOL TEASERWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA.

Now let me go over the ground rules for pawticipating in our Teaser and what it takes to WIN WIN WIN a badge!

First of all there will be SPECIAL BADGES tomorrow in honor of Halloween.    Be on the ball and you just might get one to display on your blog, or your Facebook page, or Pinterest or your bathroom wall or in your closet or WHEREVER you wish to display it.

If you are the VERY FIRST to comment on tomorrow’s Teaserween post, you will get this badge – remember all you have to do is comment to get the FIRST COMMENTER badge!

So hurry and get here when you get the magic DING on your computer saying you have incoming mail – you wanna be here first tomorrow right?  Right!

The RULES:

  1. In order to be right with your guess you will have to tell us what CITY/TOWN/VILLAGE the photo was taken in as well as what COUNTRY (if not USA) or STATE (if USA) the photo was taken in…………the whole ball of wax gang – we want to know it all!
  2. We ask that you NOT use any kind of GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH program – or anything LIKE that – to pop in the photo and have your computer tell you where the photo was taken – use your brain – use your eyes – look for clues and see if you can guess it without HELP from your computer!!    That means everyone has the same chance………..YAY!

Assistant Prof Teddy – do you have anything to tell the students?

We are excited about tomorrow’s class!   All of us will be in costume (yes, even Suzie and Sarge) and we will be having special SPOOKY snacks from our Ding Dong School Cafeteria before recess!!

Speaking of Suzie – would you like to give our students a little encouragement about class tomorrow Suzie???

Tomorrow is Teaserween!
My costume will be seen!
You’d better be in class
Or I might have to kick your…….toe.
Special badges we have made
We’ll have spooky lemonade!
I can promise you some fun
Don’t be a hot cross bun!

Thanks Suzie…………………….I think……………………anyway, we hope to see you tomorrow – remember our TEASERWEEN post will pop up at a time unlike our USUAL post time of 3AM EST.   It will be different and you’d better be on your toes (or at least AWAKE!).

I wasn’t gonna show you the Teaserween badges but Professor Angel Sammy and I thought you might need a little extra incentive to show up for class tomorrow – here is what you might win if you’re lucky!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Cool?  Oh yeah!    So we’ll see you tomorrow in class…………………………BE PURRRPARED FOR A SPOOKY GOOD TIME!

I Can’t WAIT !!!!!!!!

See you in the AM!

Bakin’ with Bacon in Baconia

I May Be King, But I’m Also Head Baker!

Seems our fabulous Chef here in Baconia is not fond of baking – he loves all his other specialties (and so do we!) but baking is not his fave SOOOOOOO, I told him that I would happily take over baking chores even though I am the KING!

First I thought I’d make a Chocolate Bacon Bomb Pie – just the name sounds like something we should all try at least once right?   Bacon and chocolate are a good combo!

Chocolate Bacon Bomb Pie

  • 3 cups pretzel twists (you can use whatever pretzels you have, I used twists)
  • 2/3 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 stick of butter, divided
  • 1 package Fudge Stripes Dark Chocolate Cookies from Keebler (11.5 oz)
  • 12 oz package of bacon, cooked and diced (1/4 cup reserved)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 TBSP vinegar
  • 1 TBSP flour
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  1. Preheat your oven to 350.
  2. Crush your pretzels and in a large bowl combine them and 1/3 cup melted butter and 1/3 cup sugar.  Mix to combine.
  3. Press the pretzel mixture into a pie plate and bake for five minutes.
  4. In the same large bowl (no need to clean it out) crush your chocolate cookies.  Now add the remainder of the butter (melted), the bacon (remember to save 1/4 a cup), eggs, the remainder of the sugar, vinegar, and flour and mix well.
  5. Gently pour the mixture into your pie crust.
  6. Top with the remaining bacon and the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over it and bake for 35 minutes or until the edges of the pie begin to turn golden brown.

Alright – so that’s kind of a complicated recipe but doesn’t it sound NOMMY?????

Every Saturday I will share a recipe with you Baconians………………how’s that for a SHARING and CARING King?

Thanks boss…..that’s a load off my mind!

I think we deserve a few laughs now don’t you?    Some of our favorite giggles!!

And since Tuesday is Halloween (even here in Baconia!)

I thought you’d like to see my Halloween outfit!

Think this will scare all the little ghosties

who stop by my throne room for TRICK or TREAT???

Have a snack before you go????

A little BRAIN food perhaps?

YUM….FINGER sandwiches!

Spidery DEVILED eggs?

Don’t put your hands in the punch…oops….looks like somebody already did!

Happy Bacon-Ween everyone!

Where’s the door to the throne room???

Bites and Hugs, King Teddy

Tuesday Teaser

Hear Ye, Hear Ye

School Is Now In Session!

OOPS…..’scuze me – I just finished cleaning the classroom!

Time to Tease…….!  Remember – quick go comment on this post – you might be FIRST and win a badge!

Sometimes more than one student comments in the first 60 seconds of class so we award badges to all those who are “FIRSTS” in that first minute.    THEN we move on to the main event which is our geography test (aka THE TEASER!).    If you are new in class (and we know we have one new student with us now, Cooper Murphy) or are tuning into class via videolink from the screen in the back of the classroom – here are the rules for TEASER guesses!

  1. When you make a guess as to where the photo was taken, you have to tell us what TOWN/CITY/VILLAGE as well as what COUNTRY (if not in USA) or STATE (if in the USA) it was taken!
  2. When you are figuring out where the photo was taken, PLEASE don’t use some program to do it FOR you – like Google Image Search.   Loading a photo into a program that will tell you where it was taken is NOT CHALLENGING………..we are trying to challenge you……….see if you can’t figure it out for yourself using your very own brain – not the computer’s brain OK???   That also makes it FAIR for everyone.

Now, remember that we have a GUEST Teaser today and tomorrow when we tell you where the photo was taken and WHO took it, we will also tell you who guessed it right FIRST.    But there are more winners than just the FIRST RIGHT GUESSER…………if you ALSO guess right but aren’t first, you still win something and you even win  something if you are WRONG!   This is an equal opportunity classroom alright – everybody gets SOMETHING.     We’ll tell you who gets what tomorrow……….but it will be one of these…………..

Sarge, will you ask Suzie to come on in and give us a cheer to inspire the class please?

Front and Center SuzieQ – time to cheer your buns off!

I can’t believe it’s Tuesday!
I call it “Got No Clue Day”
I’m excited about next week
We’ll get to BOO and SHRIEK!
It’s Halloween in class
With costumes that have some sass!
EVERYONE will be dressed up
Whether kitty, human or pup…..
So let’s get on with the guessing
Winning badges is a blessing!
I’m done now so you can CLAP
If you don’t, with claws flexed I might WHAP!!!

I knew you wouldn’t be able to resist a little PUNCH in your cheer somewhere – as usual we had to wait until you were finished for your fangs to come out Suzie!    HAHAHA

Here comes our SECURITY GUARD with the photo for today – he’s had it locked in a briefcase under lock and key so nobody can CHEAT and have a peek.    What a guy……….

Here is today’s Teaser Professor Sam and Ted

Remember – we want ALL the info!!!

Just as Suzie mentioned in her cheer, we are going to have a fun slideshow of all of you in your costumes in class next Tuesday which is HALLOWEEN…..(or TEASERWEEN as we will be calling it!).   All of us will be in costumes including Sarge and Suzie……….but YOU must send ME in email a photo of you in your Halloween costume (.jpg format please) NOT LATER THAN OCTOBER 29th!!    That is the deadline!

Miss Dingleberry is going to give us some creepy snacks before we head outside to recess next Tuesday…………..so make sure you are here for that – meanwhile, GET TO GUESSING ON THE PHOTO ABOVE – you might win a badge.

I hope you have your thinking cats on!

See you in class tomorrow!!!   GOOD LUCK!!!

Angel Prof Sam and Assistant Prof Ted

Greetings Fellow Baconians…..Let the eating begin!

Last week we had an EPIC bacon harvest in our greenhouse which many of you not only attended but also helped to harvest!  Because of that we have a bumper crop of delicious bacon to be eaten and enjoyed.   Our traditional day to do that here in Baconia is TODAY.

There’s no mistakin’ the aroma of bacon!    The chef here at the Baconian Castle is cookin’ it up right now!As you can see, we have plenty of seating in the Baconian Banquet Hall……………have a seat after you fill up your plate with bacon goodness!!!

Bacon delights as far as the eye can see………………..please partake your fill of any and all items – there will be seconds, thirds and fourths coming out of the kitchen ALL DAY LONG………..

Well Done Chef!!

I thought I’d better give you the scoop on what’s going on in the Bacon Greenhouse over this past summer………….we had a great crop of bacon seedlings growing and we are a week away from HARVEST time.    Our usual Greenhouse Crew has been working hard maintaining, fertilizing, raking, hoeing, weeding and in general keeping the place looking fabulous as always.    Here are some photos I took so I can share them with you!!

We will enjoy some harvest fun after we finish working…………….you may remember if you were at last harvest that we WORKED HARD but we also reaped the rewards of our hard work with a wonderful feast and fun.

But if you CAN photo edit, please “do it yourself” !!  Please send photos in .jpg format if you can!

P.P.S.    My sweet friend Phoebe from 15andMeowing could use some purrs and encouragement – she has Stage 4 kidney disease and her Mom and Dad are trying everything they can to help her get her appetite back……….if you have a minute, please click HERE and visit – we know they would appreciate a HUG!!

Phoebe as Rapunzel!

Friends……….

The Angels called and he heard their song of welcome…..

My very good and very sweet friend Sharon of Friends Furever said the long goodbye to her husband Bill yesterday.   He’d been hospitalized for two months and had been on the ventilator for a long time – the doctors did all they could but Bill’s struggle to overcome was not enough to keep him here.   He passed into the arms of the Lord yesterday afternoon after the vent was removed.

I know Sharon would appreciate your words of comfort……..and thanks to Ann Adamus we have a beautiful badge to honor the love Bill and Sharon shared for so long………you can click on it and visit Sharon’s blog if you like.   Sharon was so brave……their love will live on in her heart forever………..that’s what love is – FOREVER.

Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

It’s “Double Up” Thursday!

Thankful Thursday and Some Poetry Too….

First up will be our Thankful Thursday post for the Blog Hop hosted every week by our buddy Brian and YOU can pawticipate too if you just click his badge below – then use the Linky Tool to hook up for the Hop!   Thanks Brian for hosting this – seems we have a lot to be thankful for and this is a nice way to SHARE.

We are very thankful that things are beginning to be put back together again in Texas and Louisiana although there’s still a lot of people who need help……….at least it’s coming!    Now if we could just REDIRECT Hurricane Irma back out to sea to her demise, we’d be even more thankful.

Another thing I’m thankful for is that my Mom and Dad will cave into my demands (!) to go for a walk around the yard on my harness even if it’s raining like mad.    They just grab an umbrella and out we go.   I get soaked (but I don’t mind that) while Mom or Dad are under cover.   Still, I know a lot of peeps who wouldn’t take their kids out for a cruise in the rain.   I guess I’m lucky right?

I’m also thankful for all my wonderful friends………….I just love visiting everyone’s blogs every day………..keeping up with what’s going on around the blogosphere………….

Now let’s move on to my FAVORITE part of Thursday which is when I can share the Poetic Thursday poem that I receive each week from my Angel brother Sammy.    He never lets me down.   He loves writing poetry and since he’s got great wi-fi at the Rainbow Bridge, we’ve never missed a Thursday since he went to the Bridge!   Here’s what he transmitted to me last night!

♥♥♥

Hello Friends!   It’s ME, here at the Bridge!

It’s another Thursday morning and last night as I was floating around at the Bridge on my cloud – before I curled up for the night, I wrote my poem for today.    You may remember that each week those of us who are participating in this round of going through the Alphabet and writing a poem about something starting with that week’s “letter” write a special poem and post it on our blogs.   You are free to write about ANYTHING beginning with that week’s letter but in case you can’t think of something, I give you some “possible prompt” words to get your ideas flowing!

Last Thursday I gave you four prompt words which were:

(1) Mom (2) Mud (3) Marvelous (4) Meow

I bet most of you thought if I used one of my prompt words, it would be “MOM” because she and I were so very close………….but guess what – SURPRISE – I’m using my very OWN “M” word this week!

“Magic”

By Angel Sammy Kimmell, September 7, 2017

YES I believe in magic!

There’s magic in a baby’s cries

There’s magic in a lover’s eyes

Find magic where you can each day

Find magic in the words you say

Bring magic to those all around

Bring magic to the LOST you’ve found

Make magic when you hug a friend

Make magic in each message you send

Magic comes in many ways

Magic comes to those who pray

LOOK for magic – I guarantee it’s waiting…….

LOOKING for you and anticipating…….

A life that’s lived believing in magic

A life with no belief is truly tragic………..

Angel Sammy Kimmell………..BELIEVE IN MAGIC !!

Oh I hope you’ve written a poem this week!   If so, you can give us your link in our comments – we’ll go visit your blog to read your poem!   OR, you can even print out your poem on our blog in our comments – we can ALL read it right here.   Please remember to NOT be afraid to write a poem…..poems don’t even have to rhyme……………just reach down in your heart and words will come – trust me – in fact I do believe that it’s just a touch of:

MAGIC!

See you next week for more poetry – your prompt words for next week are:

(1) Naughty (2) Nice (3) Normal (4) New

With Love,

Your Poet in the French beret……Angel Sammy

♥♥♥

Thank you Angel Sammy!   I believe in magic too – every time you visit me to help me do something or give me an idea or tell me not to worry because things will be alright………….that’s magic too right?

Tomorrow is Friendly Fill-Ins Blog Hop with 15andMeowing and Mcguffys Reader co-hosting so we’ll be back tomorrow with that!   Meanwhile……………………….BELIEVE.

Hugs and Love, Teddy

Before we go may we ask a special favor?   We know our super pals Raz and Allie at FRIENDS FUREVER blog would appreciate an extra prayer – not only do they live in Florida so may be effected by the hurricane that’s coming, BUT Raz and Allie’s Dad Mr. Bill is still in the hospital after two months – he needs all of us to send STRENGTH and HEALTH and RECOVERY vibes so he can come home.    If you click below, you can visit their blog and leave a message…..it will mean a lot to THEM and to ME too!!
