SPARK on Monday

Standard

Hello Monday SPARK friends!  “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when she stopped blogging some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Although Annie isn’t currently blogging, a lot of us who enjoyed her SPARKS decided to keep posting SPARKS of our own.

We’re inching up to Christmas and I can’t help it – after spending a week decorating the house inside and out – it’s on my mind!   And I’m thinking about the spirit of Christmas that I have always had.   Always since I was a kid.   I admit the “important” things are different to me as an adult than they were as a kid.    Santa and what he was going to bring me was important when I was six but now……..I have a different perspective as we all do when we age.     Giving is just more important than receiving.   I enjoy finding something to give a friend – hoping they understand what about our friendship made me think of that thing as JUST RIGHT to give.    But it is much deeper than that………and I thought this quote by Winston Churchill contains that “deepness” I’m talking about.

Hope I didn’t get too off on a tangent with this one but I really do think it’s “right on” – at least for me it is!

Hugs, Pam

  1. How I loved that quote from one of my most favorite people, Winston Churchill. I admire him more than any one figurehead in his Country. He was the most wise and the best Statesman anywhere. He personified the British, to me… and at a time they needed him so desperately.
