Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Standard

Thankful Thursday time is here………………..Brian hosts this HOP – it’s where we share all the things in our lives we’re thankful for – you can participate by clicking on the badge and linking up if you like!

My “thankfuls” this week are much like they are every week…………..thankful for my home, my Mom and Dad, my friends, my really GOOD life compared to so many dogs and cats and other critters who have NO home and just live minute to minute.   It’s a huge thing to NOT be homeless or stuck in a shelter.    I am VERY thankful for that.

I’m also thankful that Angel Sammy’s poetry fun email arrived this morning so I can share it with all of you……………

Yoo Hoo It’s Thursday!

Thursday is my time to be with my friends – that’s YOU – for some poetic fun.    Writing a poem that’s based on something you’ve SEEN is a fun challenge.  I’ll give you a photo every week and you have a WEEK to write a poem based on your thoughts about the photo – then we share the following Thursday.  Easy right?   Well it is – AND it’s fun.

Here’s the photo I gave you last week to write a poem about – followed by my poem – followed by a NEW photo for you to do a poem to share with us NEXT Thursday!

“Sasquatch or Crazy Watch?”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell      ©June 15, 2022

It’s not easy being me

These transit rides are far from free

I have no pockets in my Sasquatch suit

No free rides allowed even if you’re cute!

The frightened lady sitting next to me

Looks like she’d move if a seat were free

Alas the bus is wall to wall full

Until someone grabs the cord and gives it a pull

I know these people think I’m a nut job

I’m in this costume to make a few bob

Sasquatch is apparently a fun dinner guest

I’ve been booked all week and could sure use some rest!

Who knows if this guy is supposed to be the Abominable Snowman, Sasquatch, or an Alien – if he can handle going out in public like this who are we to make a judgment call right?   LOL

Anyway, it was fun to come up with a poem for him.    Here’s your challenge for NEXT Thursday – you have a whole week to figure out what you want your poem to say about it!

OOPS……..accidents happen!    Have fun with this one – I know I will.   In the meantime – hope you have a wonderful week ahead until we meet again next Thursday.   I look forward to reading your poems…………….

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love Forever, Angel Sammy

♥♥♥

That was a good one Angel Sammy!    I know one thing – if that guy sat next to our Mom she would have taken her chances standing up (at the other end of the bus!).    Anyway, it was fun reading your poem………I’ll look forward to seeing you again next week.

Hugs, Teddy

  1. Well, I guess I am judgemental…because I didn’t want to stay next to him…
I love your take on that dude, Imagine having to wear that costume in this heat!!?! OMC!

    Riding the Tram

On Halloween, if you get on a bus, or maybe a tram,
Watch out for silly dudes in fur,
    and I don’t mean a lamb…
If such a peep sat beside me,
I think I would have to scram!

  2. If that was my job I don’t think I would be riding public transport. If he sat next to me I think I would have to ask him why he was dressed like that. A sensible answer and I would stay for a chat, otherwise I would move well away.

  4. Jiminey! Imagine being nekkid out in that.
    I wouldn’t have the nerve.
At least put on a concealing (!!) hat
Or be ready to be called a perv!
