Thankful Thursday Time
(then we’ll be creatively poetic!)
Time again to join Brian’s “Thankful Thursday” blog hop – and you can too if you just click the badge above and use the LINKY tool when you arrive to add your blog link and SHARE! Today I’m thankful for bunches of things………..I’m thankful that I have a COOL house to live in because it’s been unbelievably HOT around here and it makes me worry about all the animals that don’t have a home to be safe and cool in. I know Angel Sammy is cool – he says it’s perfect temperature all the time at the Rainbow Bridge……! We are lucky AND we are thankful. I can stretch out in Mom’s office and enjoy the perfect temperature…………..
Being CUTE before I went over to my beat up kitty cube to snooze…..
In La La Land snoozing………
Now for Angel Sammy’s Thoroughly Poetic Thursday and today is the FIRST DAY so we will start the alphabet ALLLLLL over again for the THIRD time! You have a choice of doing a poem about ANYTHING you pick which starts with the letter “A”, OR, using one of Angel Sammy’s prompt words to write your poem about for “A”. The words he gave us last week are:
(1) ANTS (2) ANGER (3) APPLES (4) ANKLES
Sammy decided to do a poem with one of the prompts and chose ANKLES!
“A”
Ankles
By Angel Sammy Kimmell, 6/15/17
When I was just a little kit
It’s Mommy’s ankles that took a hit
I’d wait for her to walk on by
Then leap and grab a leg in a flash of an eye!
I’d wrap my arms and hold on tight
Then bite her ankle with all my might!
I know it was mean but it sure was fun
Mom would usually laugh – THEN RUN!!!!
What is it about an ankle that’s hard to resist?
I’m just not sure but I will insist
That kitties deserve a good ankle bitey
To settle for less just wouldn’t be righty!
HAHA Angel Sammy – that was a good one………………..!! I can’t wait to read everyone else’s poem today and you all can give us your blog link to your poem in our comments OR even compose and show off your poem in our comments…..but for heavens’ sake, give writing a poem a try because it’s GOOD for your creativity and FUN for us to read!
Angel Sammy gave me four prompt words for NEXT week’s poetry challenge which will be with the letter “B”………………remember you can do ANY “B” word for your poem or use one of his prompts – it doesn’t matter – just write!
(1) BANANA (2) BATH (3) BRAVE (4) BALLOON
Now, what’s tomorrow???
FRIENDLY FILL-IN FRIDAY with co-hosts 15andMeowing and McGuffy’s Reader…….see you then!
Angel Sammy and Teddy too…………….
Dear Teddy, you do have the most deliciously round tum!

We love your poem and I apologize for mom being such a rebel today. I’ll try to get her on the straight and narrow soon.

You guys CAN continue to do your own thing on Poetic Thursdays – that’s one of the options – you don’t need to do one of Angel Sam’s prompts!! We loved your APE poem – it was WAY fun……..

Angel Sammy, your poem gave mommy the best smile this meowning. And I know it made her remember all the times the her kittens have done the same. Little teefs and little arms. 💗

Yes and Mom says she often thinks that little kittens think they are BIG JUNGLE HUNTERS and “taking down a human” is the ultimate hunting trophy! HAHAHAHAHA

What a purrfect thing to be thankful for, Teddy. We, too, have been having some dangerously high temperatures, and we are so very thankful for a cool house in which to live. We purr and pray for those kitties and pups not so lucky.
And we love your poem about ankles and just how tasty they are! When mancat Evan here was a kitten, he enjoyed a good ankle chase, too. What fun! This was our first time ever to participate in your Thoroughly Poetic Thursday, and though while this human is the farthest thing from a poet, she had a lot of fun! Purrs!

So glad you came by to read our poem today! We’re on our third go-round with the alphabet although we changed it up this time just a little….you can write a poem about ANYTHING that starts with that week’s letter OR you can use one of Angel Sammy’s “prompts” for your poem. You don’t have to be a “poet” to write a poem – one of the coolest things about poetry is that it doesn’t HAVE to rhyme! Anyway, come back any old time to say howdy doo!!

Ha, Angel S. Ankle biting is SUCH a kitty thing to do. I came to live with Mom past my puppy nipping age. Plus, all nipping and biting is tough because of my bucky teeth.
Love and licks,

HA! That’s a goodie! I imagine apples are tastier somehow than ants – but I admit to having eaten an ant or two and regretting it when I was outside and didn’t know any better. I’ve not tried to bite my vet’s ankles yet but I bet they don’t taste as good as Mom’s…….hers are delish! Thanks for joining in on poetry Thursday – we LOVE your poems SOOOOOOO much! That was a fun poem, Angel Sammy. I was lucky, Eric and Flynn never attacked my ankles. I think they were too busy catching mice instead.
Teddy, you are so cute. I used to love it when Flynn would lie on his back with his paws in the air.
