Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Double Post Day!  Being Thankful and Being Poetic too!

First up is being THANKFUL…….well in a world that sometimes feels like a place where people have forgotten to take their blessings seriously, and a world that has senseless violence at the drop of a hat…….it might seem like it’s getting HARDER to find things to be thankful for.   But in fact, these things just make us realize that here in our own homes most of us are terribly lucky to have what we have – including peace for most of us.    There is a week between our “Thankful Thursday” posts in this hop and when you look back you realize that things are almost always in an uproar – changing, evolving, becoming just a little more “edgy”………but there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for.    That’s why we like hooking up to Brian’s every Thursday – to tell our thankfuls and read other bloggers’ thankfuls – makes you realize there really, truly IS much to be thankful for.    If you’d like to share what you’re thankful for, just click Brian’s badge above and go to his blog, fill out the LINKY form and share.    Just think – reading your list of thankfuls MIGHT make someone else realize how THANKFUL they are too!!

The second part of my blog post today is another super duper favorite event and that’s when my dear Angel brother Sammy shares his words of wisdom that he’s thought about this past week from his vantage point at the Rainbow Bridge.    You know our Angels can see all from there – human Angels AND our animal Angels too!    He’s never been one to be short on words either so I’ll share with you what he sent to me via his wi-fi connection last night shall I ??

♥♥♥♥

Hello from the Rainbow Bridge my friends!!!!    I have another clear night here at the Bridge so wi-fi is perfect as usual.   I’ll get my email sent to Teddy and then have plans to visit the Rainbow Bridge Buffet because it’s “cooking with bacon” night………………………

Just a reminder that as we sneak down to the end of the alphabet, I am going to be telling you about my idea for how to continue with our poetry on Thursdays.   Hope you will like my idea – if I can come up with SEVERAL ideas we’ll do a poll and see which is your favorite.    Also, please do remember that it’s really not that hard to write a poem – I’d love it if more of you would give it a try.   Poetry is just a way for you to express a feeling or thought or make someone laugh or remember – it doesn’t even have to RHYME because there are a lot of free-form poetry formats.    If you DO write a poem for my Poetry Thursdays, share it with us on your blog – tell us in comments you wrote one and put your blog link – we’ll visit and read it – OR you can put your poem IN comments here.   Either way, you will have been CREATIVE and CREATIVE keeps the brains working AND we get to share a little of ourselves.

Last week I gave you some prompt words (not words you HAVE to write about but things to get you thinking) for this week’s letter of the alphabet………..the words were:

(1) Vicious (2) Vanity (3) Vigorous (4) View

Well, I decided to use one of my own prompts this week for my poem – I hope you like it.   As you know by now I tend to write about the Bridge or my family or what my life used to be like when I was with them……..this week is no different!

“VIEW”

By Angel Sammy Kimmell, Nov. 9, 2017

The view from the Bridge is ever changing

For memories and current events start interchanging

We’re watching from afar what’s happening now

But the view blends with our earthly memories somehow

I think because we miss what used to be

We find TODAY a bit harder to see

We watch the sadness, the pain, the violence down there

Unable to help when we hear your prayer

The view sometimes is cloudy and dense

What we observe from here sometimes makes no sense

Destruction and hate and it seems unfair

That we can’t be with you to help – we can’t be “down there”

Just remember all things happen for a reason it’s true

Even though sometimes the reason’s not obvious to you

We will watch from the Bridge, and send our love to you all

Though the sadness may continue, you will stumble and fall

Continue your prayers – don’t change that view

Look up to the sky, we’ll be watching out for you…………..

Just remember that we will do what we can to keep you safe and happy……………..but a lot of that has to do with what humans do for themselves too.    STAY POSITIVE……….keep that VIEW upwards!!!!

Next week we will have the letter “W” for our poetry.    Anything that starts with the letter W will work but here are a few ideas if you need some help!

(1) Window (2) Wink (3) Worry (4) Wiggle

So, I hope you have written a poem to share with us today and I hope you’ll pawticipate next week too!     I’m sending everyone a BIG SAMMY HUG………….A specially  BIG hug for my little brother Teddy who posts my poems for you every week!    Thanks ‘bro !!

Love, Angel Sammy

Ah…..me in my French beret – I feel like a famous poet !!

♥♥♥♥

Thanks Angel Sammy!!!    I hope everyone will join with us too – we’re almost finished with the alphabet……I can’t believe it!     Well friends, I’ll see you tomorrow for Friendly Friday Fill-Ins and anything else I can think of to say…………meanwhile, Happy Thursday!

Hugs, Teddy

Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

We Are Thankful……and We Are Poetic!

Thankful on Thursdays?   Well, in reality we are thankful EVERY day but we join this special HOP on Thursdays courtesy of our host, Brian!   All of us share the things we’re thankful for and it turns out many of us are thankful for a lot of the same things…….our forever homes, our humans, our health…….and then we know that we are all members of one big happy family of animals that are LUCKY to be cared for.    I’m thankful for that…..and also thankful that Brian is hosting this chance for all of us to share.    If you’d like to join up and tell us your “thankfuls” – please do!   Just click on Brian’s badge above, use the LINKY tool there, and tell us what you are thankful for this week!    Since my last post, I did find out that my ears are now healed – my doctor said the second medication I had worked and my yeast infection which has haunted me for a while is GONE.

The second part of my Thursday blog post every week isn’t really “MINE”………….because my brother, Angel Sammy at the Rainbow Bridge is in charge of that part – he writes a poem every single week as he makes his way through the alphabet letter by letter – his poems are about ANYTHING he wants to write about as long as it’s the right letter of the alphabet.   This week we have made it to the letter “U” in the alphabet – getting closer to the end!

He didn’t let us down this week either – last night he transmitted the following poem to me via his laptop at the Bridge……….so may I present to you, Angel Sammy’s poem for this week?!

♥♥♥♥

Greetings Friends from the Rainbow Bridge!

Here I am – as usual – to give you a little poetic inspiration from my vantage point of being an Angel now – I’ve been here at the Bridge almost a year now………December 2 it will be one year in fact and that is NOT far away!    Not that I’m GLAD I’m here – I do miss my Mom and Dad and my home and yard and I wish that I could have played with my little brother Teddy.    But I am GRATEFUL to be at the Bridge and to know that life DOES go on for all of us.    I can watch over him and still visit my friends and family.   It’s what I’d hoped the Rainbow Bridge was like!

Thursday is Poetry Day……….we’ve been working our way through the alphabet for a while now and we are getting close to Z.   I am going to come up with a NEW poetry challenge for all of us after we’re finished with the alphabet.   BUT for now – let’s talk about writing poetry.   ALL OF YOU can write a poem if you WANT to and TRY to.   Poetry doesn’t have to rhyme or be a certain length.   It just has to come from your heart.    Give it a try – I promise you will enjoy it.   You will have CREATED something and SHARED a part of you.

This week we are celebrating the letter “U” and I gave you some POSSIBLE words that might inspire you for this letter but please remember, your poem can be about ANY “U” thing – and even if you choose to use one of the words I give you to consider, you don’t have to use ALL of them.   Some of you are able to write poems using all the prompts – I am impressed!!!    Here are the words I gave you to SPARK your imagination for this week:

(1) Ugly (2) Under (3)Uncle (4) Until

“Unique”

By Angel Sammy Kimmell, November 1, 2017

Each of us is special

In our own unique way

It may be in the way we look

Or in the way we play

Some of us are quite friendly

Some of us are shy

But deep inside we’re all the same

And I’ll gladly tell you why!

We love to feel your kindness

We need to feel secure

We like to know you care for us

With motives that are pure

We flinch when we are threatened

We sense when danger is near

We want to feel we’re safe with you

We TRUST you hold us dear.

Unique we are in some ways

But for us all one thing is the same

We want to feel SPECIAL

When we hear you call our name.

Animals deserve kindness – humans deserve kindness – the world would be a better place if we could wrap it up in kindness and keep it safe from evil……………..at the Rainbow Bridge we watch over you and try to keep danger and pain away but we can’t do it all – humankind must look out for itself.    When nobody cares, evil moves in.     Just some thoughts from the Rainbow Bridge this Thursday morning from your old friend Angel Sammy.

I hope you’ve written a poem to share with us – if you have, please leave your blog address in our comments here and let us know so we can visit and read your words!!   OR if you want to, write your poem in our comments – we can read it HERE and NOW!    Whatever you do, give writing a poem a try.   It’s a super way to let your feelings out – and it can be about ANYTHING you want to express.

Next week we will be celebrating poetry with the letter “V”……………..oh boy!   Your poem can be about ANYTHING starting with the letter “V” but if you need a little PUSH or an IDEA, here are some possible prompts for you:

(1) Vicious (2) Vanity (3) Vigorous (4) View

OK my friends…….that’s it for me this week.  I’ll see you next Thursday……………..meanwhile, please think about writing a poem to share – it’s fun and might just make someone think about something they wouldn’t otherwise THINK about!    See you soon……………

Love and Hugs, Angel Sammy the Poet

Ah…..me in my French beret – I feel like a famous poet !!

♥♥♥♥

Thanks Angel Sammy.    Another great poem!    Now, it’s time for me to say goodbye too………….I’ll see all of you tomorrow though for Friendly Fill-Ins with 15andMeowing and McGuffy’s Reader!

HAPPY THURSDAY

Me in my spaceship……haha

Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Thankful with Brian and Poetic with Angel Sammy Day!

We are joining up with Brian today even though we know their household is still mourning the loss of beautiful Sister Sascha.   We are sad about that as well but will try to remember to be thankful that she knew love in her time with Brian and the rest of his family.

I’m also thankful that Mom and I are writing this post today TOGETHER – last week I had a blog post but only  because Mom and I worked on it before she deserted me and went with Dad to Maine while I was at the kennel.    I have to admit, I had it MADE at the kennel but I missed my home sweet home and I’m so THANKFUL that I have one!

Angel Sammy didn’t let me down on the poetry either – he transmitted his weekly offering via wi-fi at the Bridge last night.    This week’s letter of the alphabet for the poetry challenge is the letter “T” and I can’t wait to see what he does with it – can you?

♥♥♥♥

Greetings from the Rainbow Bridge Friends!

As you know, today we celebrate the letter “T” in our journey through the alphabet in our weekly poetry fun.    There aren’t all that many letters left in the alphabet for us to get through – I’ve already been thinking about how to keep the poetry challenge going and I hope you will like my ideas.    I’ll talk about those soon.   MEANWHILE, please remember that when I give you some “Prompt Words” every week that doesn’t mean your poem has to be about one of them – – – they are just ideas to get your creativity flowing – you can come up with a poem about ANYTHING that starts with that week’s letter.     These are the “idea words” I gave you last week for “T”:

(1) Tiger (2) Tummy (3) Tired (4) Travel

I didn’t use one of those though……………I used my own favorite “T” word……………I bet some of you can guess what that might be????

“Teddy”

by Angel Sammy Kimmell, October 26, 2017

Ginger youngster so full of fun

He might be big but he sure can run!

He’s not even two and he’s twice my size

I hear we gingers can be pretty big guys!

We don’t really know how he wound up at the shelter

Sometimes the intake process is helter skelter…..

Mom knew he was special though in his little cage

When he was adopted his life began on a new page.

He’s had some challenges with his health so far

Which means trips to the vet in the “evil car” !!

He’s good as gold as the vet cares for him

They take blood, work on his ears, and sometimes call him “Slim” !

He’s 17 pounds of pure, sweet, loving

He loves Mom’s lap where he gets lots of hugging

I think if we’d been together we would have been best friends

Instead I’ll help him in his dreams until his story ends.

Yep – I bet you aren’t surprised that my “T” was my little brother.    What a character he is.   Mom loves it when Teddy is out in the front yard on his leash with Dad and she comes out the front door and calls his name…………..he looks at her from the bottom of the yard and Dad lets go of his leash and he runs like a little demon all the way up to Mom and hugs her legs.    Know what’s funny?   I used to do that VERY THING!

Did you write a poem today?   If you did, please put your blog link in my comments so everyone can come visit your blog to read your poem today.   I hope you have written one – it’s such a FUN thing to do and great way to express yourself……………poetry doesn’t even have to RHYME – it’s just you being YOU.    There are so many forms of poetry……..GIVE IT A TRY!     You can even post your poem in my comments if you don’t have a blog to post it in.    LET’S ALL SHARE SOME WORDS AND FEELINGS WITH A POEM!

Well, time for me to go…………I am super busy here at the Rainbow Bridge.   I have a lot of duties to perform including welcoming newcomers, teaching classes, and I’m even teaching the Bridge Chefs all kinds of recipes using my favorite thing – BACON!    Before I go, here are your PROMPT WORDS (just ideas for you!) for next week’s poem – about ANYTHING starting with the letter “U”!

(1) Ugly (2) Under (3) Uncle (4) Until

SEE YOU NEXT WEEK MY FRIENDS!

Love, Angel Sammy, The Poet

♥♥♥♥

Thank you Angel Sammy………..wow………..do I have to tell you that I really love your poem this week?   Tee Hee…………………Thank you for helping me every day and showing me how to grow up and be a great cat like you.

Hugs, Teddy

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

It’s time for double post Thursday.   First up is our Thankful post for Brian’s Blog Hop.   If you’d like to share what you are thankful for this week just give a little click on the badge above and you’ll go to his blog where you can use the LINKY tool to join up!     I do have a lot of  thankfuls for this week but allow me to FIRST thank Brian for hosting this Hop.   It’s a good chance for all of us to spread our wings and FLY about what we are thankful for.    One of my thankfuls this week is that I’m thankful I remembered to join the new Hop that McGuffy’s Reader is doing called “SPARKS” – you post something that gets everyone feeling positive or happy or inspired and it can be a meme a special quote or verse or ANYTHING you feel will “light up someone’s day”.    You can check that one out at McGuffy’s Reader and the posts are on every Monday.    We did our first one this past Monday.

Secondly I am thankful that my white cell count is in NORMAL range…….not HIGH NORMAL like last check but NORMAL NORMAL – I’m glad because my Mom and Dad and my vet were a little concerned because both of my prior blood panels were OFF for white cell………Mom says I will never be NORMAL (hahahahaha thanks Mom) in many categories (like my weight) but at least my white count is NORMAL!

Now for part two of today’s blog and it’s where  my dear Angel brother transmits his weekly poetry challenge DOWN to me (which he did last night) so I can share it with you.    We are working our way through the alphabet and have made it to the letter “R”.    We are not far from the end of the Alphabet Challenge…….Here’s what I received from Angel Sammy courtesy of his Rainbow Bridge Wi-Fi connection!!

♥♥♥♥

Hello Friends!   Hugs from the Rainbow Bridge

As you all know we are up to the letter “R” and I gave you some possible words to use if you want to for YOUR “R” poem…………just some hints but you are supposed to write your own poem about ANYTHING that starts with the letter “R”!    I hope we have some new folks joining in the poetic fun this week – several people said they “might try” to write a poem…………..I say ANYONE can write a poem – just let your thoughts flow – poems don’t even always rhyme remember – they just EXPRESS!

Here are the words I gave you as “prompts” if you needed them:

(1) Rain (2) Run (3) Ruin (4) Rabbit

I’m using one of my own prompts this week………!!

“Rain”

By Sammy Kimmell, October 12, 2017

There are stories about rain that some children are told

Like at the end of rainbows there might be a pot of gold

Some think rain is really angels tears

They cry with worry watching us down here!

Rain brings renewal, lets buds open wide

Flowers will bloom, the gardeners great pride!

Some get depressed when the rain comes down

Nothing will cheer them, not even a clown.

But rainy days can sometimes be the very best

At reminding all of us just how much we are blessed

Rainy days bring us together because we don’t go outside

We can play a game, write some letters, read through a travel guide!

We can talk over tea in a quiet room at home

No need to go out in the rain – no need to roam.

Rainy day indoor picnics are REALLY the best!

No bugs to bother you – no sign of a pest!

So remember that RAIN is a sign from above –

To just SLOW ourselves down and feel all the love……………..

So that’s my thought of the day everybody.    Rain is not a BAD thing………..it may dampen your plans but it can’t dampen your spirit if you don’t let it.   I miss my Mom and Dad’s “indoor picnics” in front of the fireplace.    Mom would spread a blanket on the floor with the fire going in the winter and I’d make myself at home in one corner and Mom would put piles of pillows around and she and Dad would have a “picnic” for dinner right there.   Usually sandwiches and stuff like she’d bring along in the picnic hamper IF they were outside in a park.    Sigh………………..

Here are some words for next week’s letter of the alphabet, the letter “S”…………..you may use one of these or one of your own – whatever you want to do but please give writing a poem a try.   Short, long, rhyming or not – ANY poetic form will do……….just let your inner thoughts fly free (like I do when I practice my flying at the Bridge!).

(1) Sunny (2) Shrimp (3) Shoe (4) Snuggle

I hope to see you NEXT Thursday sharing your own poem – this week you can put your poem in our blog comments OR just give us the link to YOUR poem in our comments – either way we can see your work and enjoy the fun!     Until then…………remember:

I give you LOVE and HUGS, Angel Sammy

♥♥♥♥

Thanks Angel Sammy!    I liked that one…….and today is a rainy day too – I heard Mom tell Dad that they would have an indoor picnic so maybe I can see what Angel Sammy is talking about tonight at dinner!!!!

See you all tomorrow for Friendly Friday Fill-Ins with McGuffy’s Reader and 15andMeowing!

Big Teddy Bear Hugs to you!

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

It’s a “Two-Fer” Day!

We’re being THANKFUL with Brian and POETIC with Angel Sam

First up – Thankful Thursday which is hosted by my buddy Brian – if you click his BADGE you can visit his blog, and use his LINKY tool to hook up your “Thankful” post to the Hop.   We share all our thankfuls every Thursday.   After such a tough and sad week with the tragedy in Las Vegas all I can say is that I know everyone there was THANKFUL that there were so many concert attendees as well as First Responders who helped EVERYONE who needed it……..we are so sad for those who were killed and those who were wounded.   It breaks our hearts………….truly.

On a lighter note, my Angel brother Sammy didn’t let me down this week – last night he transmitted via his trusty computer which he took with him to the Rainbow Bridge when he left in December – his weekly THOROUGHLY POETIC THURSDAY poem and post…………..and HERE it is!!

♥♥♥♥

Greetings from the Rainbow Bridge my friends……..

We’re working our way down (up?) the alphabet to the end – this week we’re all writing poems about ANYTHING that starts with the letter “Q”………….I did give you some prompts if you needed them to help get your creativity jump-started last week……….these were the prompts which you could use if you needed to!

(1) Quiet (2) Quarrel (3) Q-Tip (4) Quack

If you wrote a poem this week, you can put your blog link in the comments here and we’ll follow the link and read your MASTERPIECE or you can even just type your poem in our comments and we’ll read it here!    I hope you wrote something though – if I can write poetry my friends, YOU can write poetry.  Give it a try – you might surprise yourself!!!!

“Quiet”

By Sammy Kimmell, October 5, 2017

Late at night when you’ve gone to bed

You might have visions of me in your head

In that twilight time before you sleep

We Angels visit – into your beds we creep!

We snuggle up close and let you know

We miss you too – it’s love we show………

We’re quiet and careful not to wake you up!

We won’t knock over the clock or your water cup!

We just want to be with you for a little while

Even though you’re asleep, we can see your smile….

We cannot stay, we must all be quick…..

But on your hand or your cheek we might give a lick!

A kiss of love, a promise that we will keep

To be with you on your journey for your FINAL SLEEP………….

We Angels will be with you – our beloved humans – when your turn comes……it’s what we do……it’s our turn to take care of YOU like you took care of us when we were with you.   Now if that’s not TRUE LOVE, what is????

Next week we will be celebrating the letter “R” and I’ll give you four prompt words to help you get your imagination going and thinking of what YOU will write about next Thursday!   Ready?

(1) Rain (2) Run (3) Ruin (4) Rabbit

Maybe those will give you some ideas………..you can write about ANYTHING that starts with an “R” though………use your imagination – we animals have good imaginations !!!!    I hope you have a great week and I’ll look forward to reading your poetry next Thursday!    Give it a try – you might just have FUN writing a poem!!

I Love and Miss You All,

Angel Sammy

♥♥♥♥

Thanks dear brother……………..I know you’ll inspire at least a couple of our friends to give writing a poem for Thoroughly Poetic Thursday a whirl next week!    Meanwhile, thanks to everybody for stopping by today…………we hope you have a THANKFUL and POETIC day today!

Yep – it’s me – with my torn up red cube AND my “Mr. Rag” that is my best buddy and pal

Love, Teddy the Butter Bean

Remember Me, Thankful, and Poetry Day

So Busy This Thursday!

Today we have Thankful Thursday with Brian, Sammy’s Thoroughly Poetic Thursday, and the MOST special remembrance today which is “REMEMBER ME THURSDAY”…….. a day we set aside every single year to remember all the sweet pets who are waiting to be rescued and have a chance at having and enjoying for their rest of their lives a true FOREVER HOME.    Shelters are full of sweet animals who have been taken to shelters be they no-kill or kill and who wait and hope that someone will give them security – sometimes for the FIRST TIME in their lives and sometimes because they have sweet memories of “home” in the past and wish for it again.     There are a million videos honoring this day but one of the most poignant ones is below – please take a couple of minutes to watch it.    It touches your heart and soul…………..

Actually today’s Remember Me Thursday is a great way to move right into THANKFUL THURSDAY at Brian’s!    I so easily could be one of those waiting in a shelter for my FOREVER but happily, my Mom and Dad came to the shelter last February and took me home where I have enjoyed my truly FOREVER……just as Angel Sammy did.    I am thankful that I am not languishing in a cage at the shelter but so many are and they need YOU to save them.      If you click the badge below, you will be transported to Brian’s blog and you can hook up and join in the THANKFUL blog hop he hosts every week!    THANKS Brian for being our host!

The last bit of our 3-way post today is my big brother Angel Sammy’s THOROUGHLY POETIC THURSDAY post – which, as you know – he transmits to me via his wireless connection on his computer at the Rainbow Bridge every week.    I know he’s getting excited this week because he will be transporting down here for our Saturday post this week which is our BACON DAY and this Saturday we’re having a BACON HARVEST on our blog!   Somehow I doubt that’s what he wrote his poem about this week though.   This week’s letter of the alphabet is “P”……he gave us all four prompt words but of course we can write about ANYTHING starting with the letter “P” !

Here’s Angel Sammy’s transmission!

♥♥♥♥

Hello Buddies and Pals!!   It’s MY poetry challenge day!

Yes, every Thursday I make an appearance to share the poem I’ve written for my ALPHABET POETRY CHALLENGE.    We are fast working our way through the alphabet and already at the letter “P” so I am wondering what you came up with to celebrate the letter “P” this week.    The prompts I gave you to help you come up with something last week were:

(1) Princess (2) Poet (3) Promise (4) Party

You can write about any “P” thing in your poem though.    I actually DID choose one of the prompts that I gave to you – mainly because I wanted to write about today’s REMEMBER ME THURSDAY occasion which is something near and dear to my own heart as I was rescued from a shelter myself by my Mom and Dad who made a PROMISE to me when I went home with them!

“Promise”

By Sammy Kimmell, Sept. 28, 2017

I was just a wee kitten in a tiny wire cage

Found under a house all alone – nobody home

That day my life began on a fresh new page

I would be safe and happy with no need to roam.

Abandoned by my cat MOM?   We would never know

Brought to the shelter by someone – a passer by

I looked out the bars waiting for someone to show

The shelter was quiet and some animals would cry

A man and a lady came there one cold February day

Would they see me?   My cage was way way up high

I had a small ball with a bell – with it I would play

The lady heard it, looked up and I caught her eye!

I stuck my paw out – extra toes she could see

“It’s a polydactyl!” she said to the man by her side

He touched my paw and said “Hi” very tenderly

Out of the cage I was brought and handed to the man

I was smart, I was cute, and I licked his face

“This is the one” she said, I would smile if I can…..

They signed papers and soon we were out of that place!

………..AND WE ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER…………

Funny how 17 years AFTER my Mom and Dad adopted me they found themselves back at that same shelter, in the same month, and found another little ginger boy to take home – my little brother Teddy.    I wish I could have stayed there to meet him………..but my time came to leave in December, 2016 just two months before he found his FOREVER with my Mom and Dad.

Remember Me Thursday is near and dear to my heart and to his as well as my Mom and Dad…………..my Mom cries BIG tears for all those animals in shelters who wait and wait and sometimes never get their homes.     Teddy and I were lucky…………….and we know it………………

Next week we will celebrate the letter “Q” which is a tricky letter isn’t it?!     Well, I’m giving you four prompt words to think about but you can write ANYTHING you want to with the letter “Q” so feel free to do that………..THEN, come here and post the link to your poem so we can all read it OR if you want to, post your poem in my comments OK?    I love poetry and please don’t say “I don’t know how to write a poem” because you CAN………..poetry is from the heart and doesn’t even have to rhyme!    OK?

(1) Quiet (2) Quarrel (3) Q-Tip (4) Quack

There you are – a little help if you need it.     I hope you will have a great week and I hope that you will remember TODAY is the last day you can send in a photo of YOU in your Bacon Harvest Outfit so we can put you in our Saturday BACON HARVEST PARTY post!     We had a ball last harvest and hope you’ll be with us for this one.    I’m flying down from my cloud for the day.   Can’t wait to see you there!    Email your photo to my Mom ASAP!!

I Love You All………..Angel Sammy

♥♥♥♥

Thanks Angel Sammy!    As always, I love your poem because YOUR story is exactly MY story.    Same shelter, 17 years apart and two baby gingers found their FOREVER in the same home.   If you haven’t looked at the video link we posted above, please do.    This is a very special day to REMEMBER………….

Hugs, Teddy

Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Thankful Blog Hop and Poetry From Angel Sam

Today we have TWO things going on here – one is our joining in on the THANKFUL Blog Hop at Brian’s – which you can join too by clicking his badge, using the LINKY TOOL and hopping along with us as we talk about what we’re thankful for!    I’m so thankful that Irma is GONE………she was a horrible storm and certainly did more than her share of damage as she tore through Florida and lashed out at other states on her way out of Florida.    Life will get back to normal for everyone but it will take a lot of time and help.    Just as with Harvey through Texas and Louisiana – one thing has been proven – YOU CAN’T KEEP PEOPLE’S SPIRIT DOWN!    We pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and keep on going.

The second part of today’s blog is the part that my brother, Angel Sammy transmits to me every Wednesday night from the Rainbow Bridge………because it was HIM who started the Thoroughly Poetic Thursday challenge and he’s still writing even though he left for the Bridge before I could meet him and before he got through the whole alphabet for the poems.

Just in case you aren’t familiar with the challenge, every week we have a new letter of the alphabet to use as our “KEY LETTER” to write a poem about something.   It can be about anything as long as the subject of the poem begins with that week’s letter!     We started at A and we are now up to N.     Angel Sammy sends me HIS poem and I share it with you on Thursdays and he will give us some “prompts” – words that start with the next letter – sometimes it helps to get some ideas but you are FREE to write your poem about ANYTHING at all that begins with that week’s letter!

Got it?    OK, here’s what Angel Sammy sent me last night!!

Hello my friends!   It’s me, Angel Sammy coming to you from the Rainbow Bridge courtesy of our great Wi-Fi service!     It’s time for us to share our poems with each other – please feel free to put a link to your poem in my comments here OR you can even put your poem in my comments if you like.    But I do hope you’ve written a poem this week – give poetry a try – remember poetry doesn’t have to rhyme – it’s an expression in words and it comes from your heart!    The prompt words I gave you LAST Thursday that you might use if you need some help were:

(1) Naughty (2) Nice (3) Normal (4) New

Doesn’t have to be about one of those words but I give you four just to JUMPSTART your own creative process if you need it!     Want to see what I wrote for “N” ?

“Name”

By Sammy Kimmell, Sept. 14, 2017

Your name is something you’ll have all your life

Unlike some friendships or maybe your wife!

Your name follows you around from town to town

Like Sampson the Great or Bozo the Clown!

We don’t choose our name, it’s chosen for us

That makes it all easy, so much less of a fuss

When I joined my family they called me “Sam”

It suited me perfectly, like Seuss’s “Sam I Am” !

My Dad chose the name and it felt just right

I loved hearing my name – I was high as a kite!

My Dad is a name guy I suppose you might say

When they adopted their next kitty, it was the same way!

Dad chose the name and it fit to a “T”

He knew right away what his name should be!

He would be  “Teddy” and that name just plain fit

He’s a dear sweet ginger, a most special kit………

The family is complete though I’m now far away

But the four of us know we’ll be together some day…………

So that’s my poem for this week – how about you?    Want to share your poem with us?  I hope you do……………….and if not THIS week, maybe NEXT week you’ll join in the fun?    If you have problems coming up with ideas for next week’s letter which will be “O”, here are some ideas to get you started – remember you don’t have to use one of these words – you can use any “O” word you like!

(1) Open (2) Octopus (3) Olive (4) Odd

There you have it my friends……………..another poetry day has come and gone…………….it’s always fun sharing my poem with you.    I’ll see you again next week here on the blog with my little brother Teddy…………..until then, WRITE A POEM – YOU’LL BE GLAD YOU DID!

Your Friend and Angel, Sammy the Poet !
