We Did It!
We made it thru the alphabet again! We’re THANKFUL for that!
It’s Thankful Thursday with Brian at Brian’s Home Blog and one of the many things we are thankful for is that we made it to Z with our poetic challenge – the second time through the alphabet and today we finish up with Z. Then we’re going to do something a little different (for those who want to). But FIRST – let’s talk “THANKFUL” – if you’d like to join in Brians’ Blog Hop and talk about how thankful you are and what for, DO IT. Click on his badge above and use the LINKY tool and link up to the blog. Share with the world what you are thankful for.
Teddy is thankful for Mom’s printer…………..WHAT??? Yes, strange but true. He has a total fascination with the printer. He can hear her turn it on and he comes running…….he sits quietly while it purrs, roars, gets warmed up then spits out a piece of paper she’s printed. He’s fascinated. Totally. He doesn’t move………sometimes he will go over to it after she’s turned it off and try to turn it back on again. He can’t QUITE reach the button on top and he’s not QUITE strong enough to push it down so no danger in him starting it but he obviously considers it a MAJOR item of fascination!
Excuse Mom’s messy office…….!!!!
Teddy also is thankful for his torn up, messed up, beat up, used up, barely there red kitty cube. He plays with it until he’s exhausted then passes out partially inside on his back exposing his WHATEVER to the world! Mom will turn around in her office chair and frequently sees this site – she couldn’t resist snapping YET ANOTHER photo of the little guy halfway in his pitiful old cube!
And last but not least, the little guy is VERY thankful that Mom has a studio couch in her office and he can lounge about on it and watch her work………..this is the first time she’s caught him in this particular pose though………..WHAT WAS HE THINKING? Who knows. We don’t try and figure him out- we just love him and his LASER eyes!
Now on to other business – let’s talk POETRY…………….in fact, let’s talk my THOROUGHLY POETIC THURSDAYS!!!
First of all thanks for sticking with me through the alphabet for “Time #2″……….it’s been fun and you all (or at least more of you than NOT) want to do it all over again so we will but with a bit of a TWIST. Let’s do my “Z” poem though before we talk about “what’s next” OK?
“Z”
“Zany”
by Angel Sammy Kimmell, 6/7/17
Sometimes life just gets so busy
Every day can make you dizzy
Moving quickly to get things done
Busy days start well before the sun!
You don’t have to be real brainy
To realize that life is ZANY!
At the Bridge we take things slow
Here on Earth it’s GO GO GO
Even on a day that’s rainy
My poor Mom says things are ZANY!
Keeping up with the house, Teddy and blogs
She says her days “go to the dogs”
I think she’s feeling a little INSANE-EY
Which come to think about it, means she’s ZANY!
HAHAHA……not my best work that one but whatcha gonna do with Z? I could have done ZOO but then again………….Mom says “Zany” fits her to a “T”…………….
So in order to make things more interesting as we begin next week to start AGAIN with the letter “A” and work our way through to ZANY Z…………………….here’s the plan. If you would like to participate in my Poetic Thursdays, you can do one of the below:
- Continue as you have with ANY word of your choice for the subject of that week’s poem…….any “A” word you wish for instance for next week, OR
- You can write a poem about one of these PROMPT words for “A” A poem about: (1) ants (2) anger (3) apples (4) ankles
I will be using a prompt but you can feel free to do as you have done and just use any subject for your poem starting with the letter of the week!!!! How’s that sound? Fun I hope!!! So if you don’t want to use one of the prompts, you don’t have to! Just have fun – WRITE A POEM – and share it with all of us!
Until Next Thursday!!!
Love, Angel Sammy (and zany Teddy…..)
great poem!!! bravo! printers are interesting things… the foxterrier of my parents waited patiently till a page came out to make confetti ;O))) Teddy guess what? we found our favourite photo of you today… the one on the studio couch… it is printed in our hearts now like the one of Sammy and the bottle :o)

HAHA……we love that poem of Sammy with the plastic bottle too – – – glad you like the one of me on the studio couch – Mom almost fell out of her chair laughing at the post – I was quite COMFY! Mom said I looked like Cleopatra on her lounging couch…..HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Great Zany Zzzz. Do they have to be original poems? We’re pretty dull. Can we change from a prompt to our own word and back on a whimsical Thursday.
LikeLike
Sure you can combine a prompt and your own “A” word from week to week……whatever you choose is fine. I thought it would give us OPTIONS for poetry and ANYONE can write a poem because some poems don’t rhyme…..they are collections of words strung together about SOMETHING….and we all know something about something. HAHAHAHA

Hi Madi! Thanks for your poem today too dear girl – you are one of my loyal poem-writing buddies and I appreciate that! It’s tons of fun isn’t it? I hope others join in. I think my lounge pose is rather daring don’t you? Mom says I look like Cleopatra on her lounge chair but I am just a TAD insulted by that!

LOL, the photo of Teddy intriqued with your printer is a riot. Maybe in his previous life he was an office clerk. What a charming guy in his play tube, you must say dawwwwww several times a day. Zany poems can’t be easy to write so I bow to your brilliance ❤ You all have a fab day now! Love and hugs Boomdee xo

Teddy is a laugh a minute Boomdee…..he really is. Sammy was a doll and sweet as can be but Teddy is like our very own gingerized comedian! Anyway, he is in love with the printer so maybe he was one of those techs who works for copy places repairing equipment???? Ya never know!

Maybe, zany fits Mom Pam to a Z. It is hard to believe we have been through the alphabet twice…that means an entire year of poetry! Ankles sound like a possibility for next week. Many of us have had printer fetishes through the years. Angel Steamer probably more than any other kitty. Teddy, you are just too darn cute napping in your cube in that favored “ginger” position. We think that pose on the couch looks as if you were getting ready to do a wee bit of claw sharpening until you were caught in the act. All of us are sending love to all of you. Thanks for keeping our poetic juices flowing. Here’s the link to Astrid’s poem: http://www.thecatonmyhead.com/zoom-zoom-zoom/

Astrid knocked it out of the ballpark with her poem today! You know Raz also did a Zoomie poem! Mom really thinks it’s funny that I can hear the printer come on from anywhere in this house and come a-running to watch it. The studio couch position was so silly – I’ve never done that before – Mom said it looked like one of those “glamour shot” photos…….hahahahaha
Glad you will be pawticipating in the new “prompt” part of things next week – me too……..but you can go back and forth whenever you want……….I just think maybe the words are gonna be FUN!

Our angel kitty, Suki was fascinated by the littermaid we used to have here…if any kitty stepped in there so that the motorized rake went on…she too came running form anypart of the den she was in, even if she was fast asleep…eventually she got so meZmeriZed by it that she started to sit on the rake…she wanted to go for a ride, OMC! Now *that* is ZANY!!
We loved your Zany poetry, its like that around here too sometimes…wait…most of the time, MOL!
