Time for “SPARKS”. “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when she stopped blogging some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Although Annie isn’t currently blogging, a lot of us who enjoyed her SPARKS decided to keep posting SPARKS of our own.
I hope everyone had a lovely holiday – we sure did. Part of our holiday included spending time with our wonderful neighbors. They feel way more like family than neighbors! Anyway, I wanted to do a SPARK reflecting the value of people like that in our lives.
I’ve always been grateful for friends in my life………….and as I’ve aged, I value that more than ever before. Now – ONWARD TO A NEW YEAR!
Well, you three certainly have a little family over here in our chilly little village! Good thoughts for a brilliant New Year…onward and upward.

I know that – and you have one in Warrenton, Virginia………..distance doesn’t matter when hearts are joined.

That’s a wonderful spark.
I have some friends though I hardly see them we are about as close as sisters.
One couple even got to be like an extra set of parents, since mine were a bout 100 miles away form where my work was.
Another family I got to be close too so much so that when I would go and help her with her young sons so she could go to her job… I would fold her laundry and wash her dishes! We still laugh about that!

That Spark certainly hits a nerve today. From the time I told my brother I had cancer I haven’t heard from him Maybe he couldn’t handle the news but I have to! Apart from Ivor and a few close friends, my blogging friends are my family.

No my friend – you absolutely are right – even when people can’t handle bad news they can still be SUPPORTIVE of a family member who needs to know they care. Having cancer is heartbreaking for the one who has it and to not have FAMILY express support is almost too much to bear. What family I have was very supportive but it was the support of the blogging community I absolutely FELT every day. You – my dear friend – will always and forever have my support and love.
Hugs, Pam

So true, again. When reading those comments, I felt just like you, Pam. It is interesting how we find in this blog world friends, even we have not met them ever.

A good one fitting for the holiday season. Good start to the week, but I may not be in class tomorrow. 😦 Hopefully Irish Mint Cake is NOT on the menu.

I’ll let Miss Dingleberry know you won’t be present and not to bother making a dozen Irish Mint Sheet Cakes since you won’t be there…… 🙂

What a terrific Spark. Mom was looking for one about friendship, but then her energy just was zapped and she gave up. Also, her site is so messed up. But today is Boxing Day, so she’s going to find something to post later. We truly value your friendship and send lots of love and warm hugs. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, angel Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh and our mom

This really is a from the heart to the heart powerful Spark. I have to say that I have one exceptionally close friend that I have known since kindergarten and she is a true friend. But the people I have met blogging, some of them are better than family. All of my family have passed or I just have no connection to them. I have blogging friends that are better than family to me and I treasure them. They are gifts and are dear to my heart. Pam, you were more than a friend from this first time I met you. You know you are family to me and for that I am thankful… and also to the other blogging friends that I love as family, I am extremely thankful for them♥ And I have to add that the pet blogging community is a group of kind and exceptionally accepting and caring group of people.
