YAY YAY YAY! It’s Friday! Time for Friendly Fill-Ins with our two cohosts! If you wanna join in – click the badge above and go to 15andMeowing and LINK UP! All we have to do is fill in the blanks on four sentences each week. EASY PEASY. Here are this week’s sentences (two from each co-host):
Mom and I both filled in this week……….if a word is Mom’s it’s in GREEN and if it’s MY word, it’s in BLUE!
1. My day is not complete until I get Mom or Dad or both to take me outside with them AT LEAST TWICE!!!.
2. It is time to put my cold weather clothes AWAY at last!.
3. _Mom made me change my mind about trying some canned wet food – I ate prescription dry all my life but had to change and Mom tried about 87 kinds before I cooperated and ate some canned stuff – I’m gonna TRY to be more cooperative!
4. I simply refuse to think we will have to change/cancel our plans to go to Maine in October – Hoping by then things will be MOSTLY NORMAL AGAIN!.
SO there you have it – another week’s worth of words from me and Mom. Today is a beautiful sunny day and I think I’ll get Mom to take me out again………..I didn’t stay out long my first trip this morning because a Fed Ex truck came up my driveway and scared me! That turned out nice though because it was a package with two catnip/silvervine toys Mom got for me!!! A TACO and a SHRIMP! Cute toys and they smell divine! HAPPY FRIDAY everybody.
we hope normal is with us soon… we are very cooperative to follow all rules, no matter if they make sense or not, but now we are at the limit… all paws crossed for a wonderful fall howliday for you in maine…

I do hope everything goes well and you can enjoy your holiday in Maine. Also for us for our mini cruise to nowhere in August.
I won’t be putting our winter clothes away just yet, we had a very hard frost last night! I wish the nights would warm up so I can plant out my summer bedding.

Our weather is pretty much settled – we are still having some coolish days but I haven’t needed to wear heavy clothing – just some layers. I HOPE Spring is finally here. Things are looking good here as far as Covid goes and our Inn is fully open in Maine. Fingers crossed for YOU and US!

Be careful about being too cooperative, Teddy. Always keep them guessing! 😀

You are spoiled, Teddy. Frankie is lucky if he goes out twice a week. I understand the wet food hunt. I also tried 87 different wet foods before settling on Earthborn Holistic Chicken Catitorrie. Of course, even that they get tired of so I have to switch it around. I also give them homemade wet food which they love but it is a bit of a pain to have to make it all the time. Now I give them canned in the morning and homemade in the evening. I hope you get to take your trip to Maine. Perhaps Rose and I could reschedule our trip to Maine and Nova Scotia someday soon.
LikeLike
Yep – traveling is happening again and isn’t that great. You and Rose should reschedule – they say we’ll even be able to go to Europe this summer (although we wouldn’t go until next year anyway). Someone told me they heard one of the problems with wet cat food is that there’s an aluminum shortage for canning (HUH????)…..I don’t think so – I think it’s a conspiracy to charge ridiculous prices! LOL

It sure will be nice to take a trip again. We have plans this year to go to our house in WV but next year maybe. I haven’t noticed a price increase on cans yet but I did see a chart showing the money supply in the u.s. it went from 4 trillion in 2020 to 7 trillion today. That means the government is printing money like mad which means inflation is coming.
LikeLike
Yep – inflation was bound to happen with all the stuff that’s “NEW” going on. Oh well…..I think it will be nice for you all to go to the WV house – hopefully you have someone keeping an eye on it when you’re not there?

Not only great Friday Fill-Ins but great fun nip toys. A taco and a shrimp! Now I am hungry for shrimp tacos! Putting away cold weather clothes and bringing out summer clothes… a chore I don’t miss but I miss wearing cold weather clothes. Maybe we can take a trip some place cold in the fall. I hope you get to go to Maine this year. Good that you ate the wet stuff, Teddy B.
Good Mooorrrrrrrrrrrrrning, Virginieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I know where you could go in the Fall…….MAINE! LOL Shrimp tacos sound good – don’t think I’ve ever had one – I love tacos though and it’s been YEARS since I had one. David doesn’t like them – how could I have married someone that doesn’t like tacos????? HAHAHAHAHA

I don’t know if it is so much the shrimp but the creamy cilantro sauce. I use cold shrimp only as a vehicle for SSNS awesome dipping sauce… ketchup, mustard, lots of buttah and parm mixed up and served warm for dipping.

Yep – I getcha…..we would never drive to Maine from Virginia (although about 20 years ago we would have). We’re fine in planes – but then since we have a plane we have to be fine right? HAHAHA If we flew up there in our plane it would take three weeks to get there (not really). We do think we’ll make it this year though. YAY!

I’m confident that you will make it to Maine in October – but beware, a cooler than normal week is ahead. Hey Teddy …. hand in there with the food. Maybe more trips outside will make the transition easier!

Yes and we start the cooling trend this afternoon with rain moving in to be visiting us for next three days. Still, 60s are better than 30s! Teddy is getting his fill of outside time and it does seem to keep his mind off food. Also the two new toys I ordered for him came yesterday which helped as well!

Teddy is so much like our Kosmo. Twice a day a walk in the yard with dad. Why to eat wet food is not interesting, Teddy.

I think I was just so used to my prescription weight management dry food…..four years of it…..then just like that I had to switch to wet food. I’m trying hard though Kosmo – I really am. I don’t want to disappoint my vet or my Mom!

Teddy do tell us what was the 88th flavor of canned you liked? MOL MOL Angel Madi was a Fancy Feast pate gal with about 4 flavors she liked a lot. She did not like the diced or sliced variety…you know divas don’t like to work too hard for their food.
Yes indeed Pam I am with you for sure you can take your trip in October

The one I have sort of liked was a tilapia/tuna VERY WET combo. It’s “ok” but not “spectacular” and Mom wants me to have SPECTACULAR meals so I’m doing my best to cooperate.

Great fill-ins you two. Teddy you need to get them to make you a Cat Yard. We can zip in and out anytime at all. Of course if Dad still walked well we would be going out like you are. Dad put his gloves that were in his sweatshirt away today. We think you will be able to go in October no problems. Have a nice weekend friends

A cat yard would be swell. Dad did “enclose” the back deck so I could go out there by myself with the gate up where the stairs down to the yard are BUT I am not crazy about being on the deck. I prefer being in the yard. Mom and Dad wind up having to spend a lot of their day with me out there though and I think they’d RATHER not have to do that.

Hi Ernie! I was only eating the prescription dry stuff my doc wanted me to eat for the first four years of my life so it was just tough switching to wet. I’m going to be brave about it though Ernie! Really I am!

2 catnip/silvervine toys! You are one lucky cat! I would give Mom a bad time, but she did bring home some YEEOW fishes when she went to the big city this week. We LOVE your answers to the fill-ins. To get Queen Nellie to eat wet food, Mom had to put warm water on it and make it soupy. After a while, she would only eat the wet food and no crunchies! We do hope your folks can get away to Maine in October. We are wondering if we will ever to get to go any where here in Canada by then. We can’t wait for bacon tomorrow! YUM!!!

Mom makes my food super soupy too and I do kinda like that – she’s tried all kinds of wet food but I’m not crazy about any of them. Her one trick (temporarily only!) is to put a squirt of soft treat (Churo) in with the food and mix it up. I’ll eat it that way but it’s extra calories so Mom doesn’t want to keep doing that. Sigh. It’s not easy being me!

I don’t do a very good job of eating the wet – Mom has to put a wet treat in with it and mix it all up but at least I get some ACTUAL FOOD instead of just the treat. I’ll try to do better I promise!
