Monday is SPARK day. Just a little thought to get you through………the next hours, next day, next week or WHENEVER. “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when her blog was hacked some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Sometimes we need a little “spark” in our lives and these posts were meant to at least be a PART of that effort. Those of us who enjoyed sharing a SPARK with Annie have continued doing so on Mondays – and we hope one day soon Annie will be back blogging with us again. Please feel free to post a SPARK of your own and let everyone know you have…….we get energy from each other that way!
My SPARK today is unusual – it’s short and may not even inspire you in a particular direction – but it will make you stop and think – and I think it will make you SMILE. Ready?
Somehow just thinking this makes seeing that snow coming down outside ENDLESSLY (for some of us!) seem less – threatening maybe? I like it………….it’s different indeed but it packs a bit of a “punch” all its’ own I think.
Have a GREAT week……………………..we expect another load of butterflies to come this week in our endless Winter here in Virginia. Oops – did I say butterflies? Well you know what I mean!
ummmmmm…. yes… but some are like da yellow jackets and can sting LOL

We don’t like yellow jackets or wasps either but butterflies – so gentle and Angel Sammy loved them so much.

OH, that is priceless!!!! And mama went to school in Virginia but only one year. Long story…
LOVE the butterfly snowflakes but thank heaven we do not have those. And no real butterflies either but they do come in summer and the ones that we had in California turned into HORNWORMS. Another long story….Here no worms. France has only beetle type creatures that eat the cabbage.
Love from Loulou and famly.

I think it’s a really cool thought too – Spring has butterflies and Winter has snowflakes. Can’t WAIT to see Spring here though – lots of snow and ice have made it challenging this year!!

Snowflakes are just as lovely as butterflies, especially when they pile up on the ground for me to play in! 😀

Hope you are getting your share of snow to play in Clowie! I’ll be happy when the butterflies are back here in Spring……….

A beautiful and thoughtful Spark inspiring hope for many who are being pounded with frightful and dangerous winter weather. The idea of looking at snowflakes as the butterflies of winter makes me happy and makes me smile. Your Spark today may be short but it’s mighty!

That’s PRECISELY the feeling I got from this one – made me happy and made me smile and it was not so painful to look out the window at the very light snow coming down! I’ll have to remember this when the snow is LESS “gentle” and it makes me think of falling boulders instead of butterflies! HAHAHA
HELLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FLORIDAAAAAAADOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Love, Pam

Snowflakes coming down are beautiful, like butterflies. If they weren’t so darn cold I could really enjoy them.

Yes………you can “see” the thought like I do but you’re also right about the cold – however – when all is said and done, we have it pretty good in Virginia – this is our first “notable” winter in years!

I guess it is relative. I grew up north of Chicago so compared to that, Virginia (and West Virginia) are pretty mild.

Happy Monday, Pam. I can see the relationship between snowflakes and butterflies. BUT – I don’t think all the people getting dumped on this week will appreciate the thought. 🙂 Have a good week and I hope you are still ahead of Norm.

I’m way ahead of Norm – he’s limping along and I’m flying along! We are one of those dealing with the DUMP of snow and ice but if it made me smile thinking of those flakes being likened to butterflies in the Spring maybe – just maybe – at least one other person out there will look at that white stuff falling with a smile on their face instead of the proverbial winter scowl! LOL

Good point … and that pleasant, straight-down snow can be a beautiful sight. Cheers to being way ahead of Norm!

Love this Spark. I’ll be thinking of this today as I watch the snow. We’re getting a big snowstorm starting today and lasting overnight.

I love this one. We still have the 27 below zero stuff. The outside cat that comes has not shown up yet. I am worried about him. I have not been able to catch him. You have a wonderful day and stay warm and toasty.

Hope your outside cat appears soon – I worry about the two that visit us too but lately they have been on the front porch every night and morning and sleeping in the heated enclosure out there.

Well now that is a very good helpful visual for Snowflakes…seeing Monarchs in your mind’s eye in lieu of snow

We cats are over the top of our backs in butterflies! I don’t think the “butterflies” will be gone for a long time! (we got another 5″ of butterflies this morning and they are still floating down..
Mom, however, was laughing so hard when she read your Spark that coffee came out her nose! We LOVE it when that happens. Have a Marvellously Happy (and Snowflake free) day!”

Glad it was a LAUGH inducing SPARK……we thought it was an interesting “take” on snowfall…….sadly much of what’s coming down around the nation is NOT gentle like a butterfly !!

Well I like butterflies as much as the next person, but with the Polar Vortex, I think someone got a bit carried away. All seriously aside, that’s a lovely sentiment-happy Monday.

I think it may be more about the “gentleness” of slowly falling flakes than the actual COLD and difficulty of snows. Interesting thought though even if it’s not how most of us think of relentless snow!!

Can’t say that I blame you! Until this year we would have said the same as we usually skate by here in our area with maybe one or two 1/2 inch snows during winter. NOT THIS YEAR THOUGH!!!!! LOTS OF BUTTERFLIES!!!!

I love that thought! There must have been a large heavenly explosion of butterflies, cause the sidewalk which I cleared at 6pm is totally covered in several inches of fallen butterflies! And more are coming to join this butterfly convention. Wait, don’t butterflies know anything about social distancing??
The flakes we are having are tiny and crystalline…so at least it will not be too heavy to dig out of, but the real pretty snow-butterflies are those big, soft and fluffy one!
See ya! Hope the teaser pic is a nice and warmth giving one:)
