Happy Monday……………here we are again, sharing a bit of inspiration at the first of another week hoping maybe we can carry the message with us in our hearts all week and MAYBE forever AFTER that! SPARKS was the brain-child of our friend Annie of McGuffy’s Reader who is on an extended break but so many of us love the IDEA of Sparks, we continue with it each Monday. Spreading a little light and a little inspiration is never a bad idea is it.
My Spark today is one that I can really identify with personally – worry. Worrying is something I have come to learn maybe the hard way, is a total waste of time. Worrying changes nothing. It makes you miserable and keeps you on the edge of your seat and robs you of joy and peace. The words “WHAT WILL BE, WILL BE” come to mind in fact. When looking for a poster that “grabbed” be to use in my post today I found SO MANY that spoke to me but this one perhaps spoke the loudest. I love it. I hope it speaks to you too if you are a worry-prone person!
I absolutely DO NOT want to carry my umbrella around forever……………….I’m putting mine back in the closet – how about you?????????????
Wow – we’re FIRST!
We think our Mom needs to print this one out!!

that is true…Carl Valentin said once it’s not worth to worry, the rain will come anyway if we like it or not…. and sometimes the rain be a cure too it can wash away some sorrows…

That’s right – if we LOOK for it, we can find something GOOD in what we initially think is BAD…..like the rain washing away sorrows…….. 🙂

I’d love to put my umbrella in the back of the closet, but not today!! It’s pouring! Your spark today is a new one to me, well worth remembering.
It also reminds me of a couple of similar ones that I’ve found:
“Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but doesn’t get you anywhere.”
“Worry gives a small thing a big shadow.”
Have a good day!

I almost posted the rocking chair one for my SPARK today – there are so many that resonated with me it was tough to pick “just one” !!

I will put it in the closet but I’m going to keep another one handy… 🙂 I have found myself worrying here lately that I’m not worrying… Ha! I don’t need to tell you about my worrying! I work at it every day, not worrying, but learning strategies to not worry. Meditation, staying busy, SHOPPING (and I am not a fan of shopping but I have found Wayfair), a walk around the neighborhood, been clicking pictures with my big girl camera again and editing pictures, I found a cat rescue to volunteer at, and cleaning the expansive square footage of the Casa Venetia… LOL! But, I hear you Pam and I love the graphic. Could I borrow it?

My human has always thought worrying was a big waste of time and energy. Oddly enough, her parents loved worrying and wore it like a badge of honor. She always thought they were a little bit nuts.

Summer my Mom’s parents (particularly her Mom) were like that too – worriers. My Mom says she always thinks of that old song “Que Sera, Sera” and knows worrying doesn’t change a dingy dang thing!

You are so right, Pam – worry can really drag one down. Save that umbrella for a true rainy day:)

YES indeed……I think we all grasp this concept but grasping and LIVING IT are two different thing. Worry sneaks up on you and grabs you and won’t easily let go – the trick is not letting it sneak in the first place! LOL

OMC. This Spark is so true! Though the mom says if she brings her umbrella, it never rains. And vice versa. If she doesn’t bring it, it does!

HA! People have said that about umbrellas for years and years. Carry one and it won’t rain…….same with washing your car – if you wash it then it WILL rain! LOL

Pam, that is the purrfect Spark. I used to worry about everything, but many, many years ago, my sister and aunt made me realize that worry accomplished absolutely nothing. I abandoned the practice then and there, as it really is a waste of time. Sending love and hugs, Janet.

I stopped worrying too some years ago – health issues that were things I simply couldn’t influence if I tried got me to QUIT worrying. I am someone who thinks positively so worrying does not MESH with that at all!!
