Waiting….Waiting….

Standard

So I think I may have mentioned that my parents were NOT home for yesterday’s celebration of Thanksgiving?  Well in case I didn’t let me tell you they were NOT here.  They were up in the mountains of West Virginia with family having a fine old time while I was HOME ALONE.

However, I forgave my parents in advance for this faux pas on their part because they PROMISED me they would bring home leftovers.  Well, they’re due back here around noon-ish or one-ish today and I simply cannot wait.

I do enjoy turkey………and Mom promised me that even though she will be bringing me some leftovers from their turkey extravaganza, we will in fact be having our OWN turkey feast this weekend.  That means probably Sunday.  Can you tell we like turkey in this house?  Well we do.  Including me.  Yup – I’m a VERY fussy eater….VERY….but I can pack away some turkey when given half a chance.

Now that I’ve bored you with MORE turkey talk (thought you’d heard it all by now I bet!!), why don’t you tell me about YOUR Thanksgiving (if you had one).   Was it turkey?  Was it ham?  Was it vegetable lasagna?  Was it roast beef?  Was it Chinese take-out?   I REALLY want to know!

Know what I’m going to do until my parents get here this afternoon??????

If I sleep the time will go fast and my parents will be here SOONER!

Was there any doubt in your mind this would be the case?????

    • Hi Mollie……well, kibble isn’t bad stuff – not QUITE as yummy as turkey though….my parents did bring some back from their Thanksgiving dinner and we’re having it tonight. Then Mom’s making ANOTHER turkey on Sunday. Before you know it, I’m going to grow FEATHERS! Tee Hee

  1. Aw, poor Sammy, still waiting after having been left Forever!! At least you’ll be getting two lots of turkey – that should make up for it all.
We don’t do thanksgiving here, so standard old dinner on this side. We’ll have to wait for Christmas for our big feast.

    • Hi LLCD! We’ll be feasting again this weekend (turkey) and again at Christmas as well (probably MORE turkey). Christmas isn’t far away though so you don’t have a long time to wait for your big feast!

    • Hi Misaki! You look spectacular in your Christmas scarf from Mollie’s Mum! I did get that promised turkey when my parents got home late this morning – I’m so glad they remembered poor pitiful me here at home!

  2. I figured a nap would be in order to help the waiting along. Time flies when you’re asleep. Mom ate turkey at a restaurant, so no turkey dinner here, either. Not even on Sunday! I had to settle for some extra treats of bacon and beef and cheese. YUM,

    Love and licks,

    • Hi Cupcake! At least you got extra bacon beef and cheese treats although you were “turkeyless”…..My parents brought home leftovers as promised and I’ve already had one chunk of turkey………will be asking for more later no doubt!

  3. Aw, Sammy: wish we lived closer, I would come visit you while you pawrents are away! 😉 My folks were busy yesterday: Motor Mommy cooked breakfast and my step-brother, Marshall, came and ate with us! Then last night, my Mom’s furriend came with this little tiny person…..he made strange sounds – nothing like the purrs I’m used to. I think it was a BABY. I might write a post about the experience…
Hope your pawrents are home very SOON with lots of turkey for you!

    • Hi Sundae!

My parents got home late this morning and brought leftovers…..YUMMY ones. I wasn’t TOOOOOOOOOO lonely without them – I just had extra naps which made the time fly. I am glad they’re home though. So what did you think about that tiny human? Sometimes I hear that they are known to make a LOT of noise and that they have absolutely NO fur on them! Weird huh?

  4. Awww Sammy… Well I hope you have lots of turkey (not too much, but just lots).
The humans didn’t have turkey because my human was too lazy to cook one (her bad excuse: these birds are too big for three humans – er, hello, what about the kitties?!).
But they gave us special canned food for the occasion and it was delicious!
Hope your humans are back real soon.
    Lots of purrs

    • Hi Texas! I’m so glad you had some special canned food even though your Mum didn’t do a turkey this year. My parents brought some leftovers home from their Thanksgiving meal AND Mom’s making a turkey breast of our very own on Sunday. Since it’s just the two of them and ME she usually just buys the turkey breast and it’s just the right size for a big meal with some leftovers! YAY!

Am so thankful for your friendship………..please give Milou and Kitshka a hug for me too will you?

    • HA! Well, I might (and I mean MIGHT) be able to polish off a little roasted quail or MAYBE cornish game hen but a whole turkey? Probably not. Still I’m glad you think I DESERVE the whole thing!

  5. You gonna have some bacon with that turkey? I know you LOVE your bacon.

We had our Thanksgiving way back in October. I dont remember what I had exactly but I expect it involved some Fancy Feast and treats. The peeps had Wild Rice & Mushroom Soup for theirs. I remember THAT ’cause it WASN’T turkey! MOUSES!

    • Hi Nissy! Hmm….bacon stuffing – perhaps I can get Mom interested in making that for our next turkey dinner??? Fancy Feast is a fave of mine too but this turkey was pretty darn swell. Wish I could send you some but I have a feeling it would be confiscated! 😉

  6. My human went somewhere else for dinner, but she came home with some turkey for us kitties! Yum! She needs to make it here one of these days (she and her boyfriend have only done it once or twice since I’ve been here). She DID say she may make Christmas goose for us this year!
