No, I Didn’t Sleep Late!

Standard
We call this the Grandma Chair - Sam thinks it's a great nap spot.

This was NOT why I didn't get my blog posted earlier!!

Hello Friends and Fans!  No, I did not sleep late this morning and am only just now getting around to putting my paws on the keyboard.  I tried to do my usual blog at the usual time BUT WordPress was doing some kind of “regularly scheduled maintenance” and I had to wait!  Then Mom wasn’t here to help me for a while because she had to go to the store and do a bit of shopping (per my request) to get a birthday card for my Dad.  Tomorrow’s his birthday.  He’s going to be….er…..um….well….OLD(er).  I’d better not tell how old he’s going to be for real – some people are kinda sensitive to that stuff.  🙂

SO, anyway, I had a rough night.  Well, I guess we all did.  My poor old tummy was upset and I had a bit of a rough time.  Mom and Dad had to get up and help me get the carpet cleaned up…..well, actually THEY did all the work and I sat there and cheered them on.  Now that I’m officially an eldercat, some stuff I eat just doesn’t always “agree” with me!  I feel OK this morning though.  I’m so lucky my parents understand that I don’t do that kind of thing on purpose!  Who would?!?!?!  🙂  My vet told us last checkup that I have a sensitive stomach….hmm….I have had that since I was a baby so that wasn’t news.

The guy who comes and does stuff to our lawn is coming this morning…..that means noisy machines…..so before he gets here, I’m going to go find a nice quiet spot and begin the first real nap of the day.  With luck, by the time I wake up he’ll be long gone!

  1. We’re so sorry to hear that you were sick all night, Sammy! You have great parents who take such good care of you. I hope you’re feeling better today. Mommy said I kept her up half the night because I kept sitting up and watching the far corner of the bedroom, like someone was there. She’s been working on a ghost story and I think I spooked her. Love, Eddie (the JR)

    • Eddie! How’s it going guy? Nice to hear from you……doesn’t your Mom know that we see stuff humans can’t see? I’m sure it was just your Dad remotely viewing to make sure you were all OK! 🙂 You’re a good guy to stay on the alert though – our humans need us to keep an eye out at all times!

  2. Sorry to hear about your stomach problems last night, Sammy. Hopefully it will be a long time before it happens again. Better still, maybe it will never happen again.

You have the right idea, just sleep through the lawn guys loud noise until they are gone.

    • Hi Uncle J. I’m much better this morning. Hopefully that issue has “passed” (if you’ll excuse me saying so). I’m following Mom around as usual and all is right in my world. Lawn guy hasn’t shown up YET though – I may have to take another nap…..just so I can truly be asleep when he arrives!

  3. Aw, Sammy, sorry about the tummy situation. Those things will happen; we just have to hope they’re few and far between!
Gotta love our parents who take care of us and know that that isn’t something we can prevent!
Take care – get lots of rest today!

    • Hi Sundae……yep – I think you and I are BOTH pretty lucky to have such great parents. I’m doing my thing with the rest believe me. You know I have lots of swell nap spots and perhaps I’ll rotate around the house and visit ALL of them today while I pursue the “rest” issue!

    • Hi Miss Layla! I’m feeling chipper as can be today…..whatever was wrong is OK now thank heavens. It’s no fun for anyone when my tummy is in an uproar! I’m gonna check out your contest……I LOVE contests! Thanks so much for worrying about me…….this getting old thing isn’t always so much fun (I’m guessing Merlin knows just what I’m talkin’ about!!).

    • Hi Miss Dee……..I AM just dandy and full of vim (whatever that is) today! Thanks for worrying about me. The yard noise wasn’t as bad as it sometimes is even though they had TWO machines instead of the usual one. They were doing some weird thing called aerating and reseeding……hmm……all I know is it’s over with for now and life is good (just like my tummy is).

    • Aloha right back atcha Pedro! I’m doing much better thank you. We sensitive types have to watch what we eat and how quickly we eat it I guess. The lawn guys came and did their thing – TWO noisy machines instead of the usual one. I like the idea though that one day, when WE rule, there will be no landscaping – I vote for that too!
