Friendly Fill-Ins Hop

Standard

Happy Friday everybody.  It’s fill-in day with our two co-hosts Four-Legged Furballs and 15andMeowing.    Four sentences with blanks – WE fill in the blanks!   Fun?  You betcha!

Here are the four sentences we got (two from each co-host) for today.    Mom and I BOTH pawticipated – if the words are mine, they’re in GREEN and if they are Mom’s words, they’re in BLUE!

1. A product I would endorse is a cat to human translator – a little portable handheld thing so Mom could know FOR SURE what I need her to know.   AND of course for the cat, a little “charm” on the collar which would do the reverse – let us know what our Mom is saying.   GRANTED most of us read body language and human eye expressions BUT this would be a cool thing – right?.
2. If I had a boat, I would name it  The SS CATatonic.
3. When I had to give a ride in a car to one of my parents was one of the first times I truly felt like a responsible adult.
4. I struggle with change most especially when it relates to the loss of a friend or family member.

Well that was fun as always………………….I look forward to this every week – so does my Mom.   I bet you all enjoy reading what everyone says too right?    Right!!!
Oil painting of an old boat
My Mom painted this over 30 years ago in an art class……I think it would make a fine SS CATatonic!

  1. You might look into the app Meow Talk, Teddy, which comes (sort of) close to translation of your meows. Mama uses it and papa laughs at the translations, but often they are correct and your mama can change them to be closer to what you are meowing. It’s great fun, that’s for sure. Mama loves it because it DOES hit the mark every now and then. So frustrating to have anthros understand us, you are right!

    • Well my Mom and Dad don’t have fancy phones – just flip phones so no apps BUT Mom seems to be pretty good at figuring out what I’m saying between my squeaks, eyes, and poking her with my paw she seems to “get” what I want pretty well. Dad, however, is clueless!!! HAHAHAHA That app sounds like fun though!

  2. That is a gorgeous painting! I love the serenity/sereneness of boats and have a lot of pictures and paintings of them in my home. I used to go to the harbour when I lived on the east Coast and watch all the comings and goings of the various ships, both large and small.

You are right about the translator Teddy,…us pups could use that kind of thing, too. Esp I, Dalton, cause I need to learn that not all men are evil…petcretary gets so vexed with me when I bark with vengeance at my pawppy…I don’t know why I do that, cause he is kind to me and even feeds me and gives me my treats.

Is so amazing all the various responsibilities we take on when we are ‘grown up’!

  3. Teddy, Mom, LOVE the painting you did. I do drawing, or my mom does…a few watercolors too.
I couldn;t think of anything for the fill-ins this time. Usually I do. I certainly agree with your Mom’s answer to #4. And I would LOVE that translator thingy! I wish for mom and me bith that we had one. Although we do pretty well…

    • We can make ourselves and our needs pretty well known without a translator right Katie? That LOOK we give or the gentle touch with a paw…..says the same thing as words! Thanks for the compliment on Mom’s painting………Mom doesn’t do painting or drawing anymore but DID save some of her work that she never sold and it’s in “our” room where Mom and I hang out.

    • I love that painting too – and not just because Mom painted it – it’s just got the “right” sky and waves and the boat looks lonely like it would love someone to get aboard and sail……that would be ME!

  4. Thank you both for participating in the fill-ins. I enjoyed all your answers. I like your name for a boat and that would be a perfect one. Your mom is so talented, that painting is beautiful. And please get working on that invention, I would buy one. XO

    • Loulou says there’s an app that sort of does it – we don’t have a smarty-pants phone so know nothing about apps! Thanks for the compliments on Mom’s old painting. I like it to but I might be a little bit prejudiced!

    • Guys thanks for the compliments on Mom’s painting – that is an OLDIE but she saved it because it was one of her first ever paintings. We hope that you have a COOL weekend – you are some of the coolest cats around so you ought to be comfy! And I’m talking EVERY day!

    • Thanks for the compliment on Mom’s painting – and we agree about bad language between cats – humans hear enough rude talk these days, they don’t need to hear US with our own nasty language when we’re in a fighting mood!

  6. Wow – that is a pretty neat painting of the SSSS Catatonic.

What you said about being a responsible ad
ult reminded me of something Erma Bombeck once wrote about “When Did the Mother Become The Child.” It’s the first time you slam the brakes on and throw your arm out to keep your Mom from hitting the dashboard. (Of course you have to be old enough to remember when this was the thing to do before seatbelts )

  7. Teddy, that sounds like a great invention. Try as hard as we might, the peeps don’t always seem to get it quite right. We hope someone makes one of those soon.

    Happy weekend.

    • I’ve heard that there already is some kind of app that “sort of” translate kitty talk but we don’t have smarty-pants phones so we don’t know about apps!! Glad you like Mom’s VERY old painting.
