Friendly Fill-Ins Hop

Standard

Happy Friday and Happy fill in the blanks day………..one and the same!    We have co-hosts for this Friday event – 15andMeowing and Four-Legged Furballs.    If you’d like to join in the fill in fun, click the badge above which will take you to 15andMeowing and look for the LINK to link up with us.

I am letting Mom do all of the filling in this week.   Why?    I like to give her little treats once in a while even though this is MY blog (or actually it’s mine and Angel Sammy’s!) but Mom keeps us going.    My way of thanking her a little.     Her words in our co-hosts’ sentences are in GREEN!

1. I wouldn’t mind if we had a gardener who would plant and take care of all the outside plant stuff – I’m getting too old for all that bending!!
2. I want to hug my Teddy all the time but sadly he really HATES to be picked up (however he does hug my legs ALL the time!).
3. Others come to me when they need advice – it’s been like that since I was pretty young.
4. My honeymoon with David is a memory that I regularly think about. (I love traveling and our honeymoon was a fabulous trip across Europe on the train with some wonderful stops – I’d love to go to Europe again……fingers crossed).

OK Mom – don’t expect these little treats all the time……………I don’t mind SHARING Filling In with you because that’s what we USUALLY do, but today I decided to give you a BIG PRE-MOTHER’S DAY TREAT!     Actually I’m hoping if I’m nice to you, you’ll reciprocate with EXTRA TREATS for me!!!   See?    There’s a “method to my madness” !!
Seriously though Mom – good job filling in and just know that I love you and Dad TONS……….maybe one day we can get HIM to fill in the blanks?

HUGS, Teddy

  1. I agree with your mom, it would be nice to have a gardener. Ivor does the heavy digging for me though, but it is the only part of the gardening he will do.
I hope you do get back to Europe, Pam. We would have been taking a 27 day cruise to Canada/New England in October but that has been cancelled so it is unlikely we will ever get back to the US.

    • It’s really sad – those of us who love traveling and seeing the world will just have to look through our photo albums and talk about our trips….I do feel fortunate to have traveled as much as I have but I could definitely do MORE if I could!

    • I wish we had a beautiful garden (with a gardener to take care of it) with benches and fountains and all sort of plants and flowers….I just never had the ENERGY to do that in my own yard!!!!!!

  2. No green-garden-thumbs here, but we continued to try! A “gardener” by my side to “teach” would have been wonderful … and more travel was always a dream, now one that sadly will remain a
dream. Life doesn’t always work the way we would like for it to work …

    • Very true about life….but we will always have our memories of trips from the past and photo albums too. We are truly hoping that we might be able to do one last river cruise in Europe maybe next year before we put away our suitcases forever. There is ALWAYS ALWAYS hope!

  3. I can understand you not wanting to be picked up. Has to be strange to have your four feeties off the ground and up in the air. I hope you do get to travel to Europe again, Pam Great photo of you checking out your world from the porch, Teddy Boop!

    • I hope everyone gets to travel wherever they want to again…..it seems like 10 years instead of one. We just want ONE LAST CRUISE through France then I’ll hang up my suitcase!!!!!

  4. Oh how I would LOVE to have a real garden. Heck, I’ll even take a flower bed. I always had one but my back and knees forbid my kneeling and duckwalking around it weeding etc. Even planting. My back just did it’s thing on me. My knees are a result of many injuries through the years on the range.

    • I hated giving up all my garden areas here as it’s the first place I’ve lived where we had ROOM for big gardens. When I no longer to keep up I switched to gardening in pots on the deck.

  5. I wish I had someone who could make our garden look better! I can do the basics and get things trimmed but it doesn’t have that “finished’ look. Noelle doesn’t like being picked up either.

  6. Those were really good answers. Our peeps never go anywhere, the Dad refuses to fly in a plane. He doesn’t mind the plane ride but he hates the process these days. Looking good Teddy.

    • Actually since they made it so you can check-in online and even get your baggage tickets online (at least at some airports) it’s much easier. Security is the only hold-up but if you plan ahead and get there early you can get through quickly then spend some time in the shops and food places!!!!

  7. Thank you Teddy for letting your mom participate in the fill-ins, great answers. I think my hubby would love a gardener to help him. he keeps cutting back with what he grows every year. And yes, you are my go to person for advice. That is so sweet that Teddy hugs your legs. Have a nice weekend. XO

  8. I’m surprised Teddy doesn’t like to be picked up, I am truly shocked! I think your honeymoon sounds as if it was delightful!! Traveling by train? OMG I would LOVE that!! xoxo

    • Teddy is like a squirming big (a big pig) when I pick him up (not to mention that a squirming 25 lb. pig is tough to hold on to!!). If I “insist” on holding him he eventually stops squirming and trying to get down but he’s not happy. He’s the opposite of Sammy. But he’s still a lovebug.

  9. Teddy Teddy Teddy…this line gave me a case of the giggles: “I like to give her little treats once in a while”.
Finger’s crossed we can all travel again sometime. We haven’t been out of NC since 2017.

  10. We do have a gardener because if left to my human, everything would be overgrown and dead… yes, it’s possible to have both! That’s what the backyard of her first house looked like until she hired one. She is terrible with plants. Except, luckily, catnip. Catnip seems to like neglect.

    • One of these days we may get a gardener – we do have someone who takes care of fertilizing the lawn (I still mow with my tractor though!), but I’d like to have a pretty garden that someone else weeds and keeps looking beautiful! We may just have to do that – I always had a green thumb my whole life but arthritis and lack of energy seem to thrive better than my plants!!!!

  11. We loved your fill ins, Miss Pam. Thanks Teddy for ‘allowing’ her to do them!
Wish we could travel, even to nearby places, now out of reach due to border closures (I can’t get to see my Canadian family members…)…let alone to see my Dutch family, and traveling around their places.
And someone to do the yard work and to tend to the gardens here would be SO wonderful! I just mainly have patio planters, and a couple of raised garden boxes, so I don’t have to do a lot of bending…but they are awful to clean out each year! Even just a lawn mower would be great…I hate that job, and hubby can’t so it anymore due to his recent surgery…too bad our boys don’t live with us, LOL! (Maybe they are smarter than we give them credit for…LOL! Actually they have way more smarts and brains than we DO give them credit for!!)

  12. We LOVE your fill-ins Pam! Especially the #1. Marv will lay beside you and will sort of cuddle on a lap. But as soon as you even attempt to pick him up he goes nutso! And Travel, sigh, our province is locked down, I would love to go to Vancouver and see my sister and brother-in-law (he is ill and nothing can be done), But I am not allowed. But Life is OK. I am safe, I am happy and I can travel the world “visiting” wonderful friends every day! Sending you LOVE and virtual hugs! Barb

    • Everybody says Teddy looks so cuddly and I wish he was – he loves to hug our legs and “head bump” us which I know is his way of hugging. He follows us around and loves to be close to us but no laps and no picking up or the TIGER comes out! LOL We have been fine with no travel but are happy that we WILL be traveling to Maine in October – something we missed last year as we’ve gone every year for a long time. Friends all over the world make it seem like we’re visiting and traveling though I agree!!!

      Sending you hugs too!

  13. We sure like those fill ins Pam and that is a fine treat for Mom Teddy. Hope you got yours too. PS no worries it took Buddy Budd months to switch from kibble to wet food. Once he did he really enjoyed it and you will too. Many more flavors and fun

    • Oh Timmy I sure hope you’re right about Teddy and his food. I feel so badly for him…..he cries for his old food and looks at me like I’m torturing him when I put the new food down for him – I’ve even tried mixing the wet food with liquid treats and he will lick up the liquid and leave everything else (even though I chop it up super fine). I will keep on trying though.

    • The only problem with me doing gardening is that squatting or sitting on my little rolling garden bench and bending over, etc. HURT these days thanks to arthritis. It’s more that I can’t do it than I don’t want do. I think it would be wonderful to have a young enthusiastic gardener who has the energy to tend to a garden’s every need to stay beautiful. BUTTTTT having said that I’m sure it’s not “cheap” !!!! LOL

  14. Teddy, we kitties NEVER give without expecting something equally good in return. Our mom totally agrees with your mom on #1. She is getting too old for all that hard work; though, she does enjoy the results. Wouldn’t it be fabulous to be able to travel again. Our mom would love to return to Europe as well. Teddy, let your mom hug you sometimes. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer & Kizmet

    • We don’t think Teddy had any human contact for his first 11 months and maybe (?) that has something to do with it? He has gotten better – when we DO have to pick him up (like for a pawticure) he doesn’t squirm the entire time – just about every 60 seconds (hahaha).

  15. Teddy, your mom’s fill-ins are fantastic! But…won’t you let her hug you a bit more? Us humans just really like to hug you kitties. Purrs!

    • Sometimes I let her have more than five seconds but usually it’s less. I’m just not used to hugging or else in my first year before I was adopted someone hugged me a little HARD or tried to hurt me? Not sure, I just am not happy when someone picks me up.
