Sunday is Bacon Day at Castle Baconia!
That’s right – we find some sort of recipe to share with everyone then whip it up in my kitchen herein the castle………………and there you have it – something new to try out in YOUR kitchen! I’ve got a really easy one for you today. I mean REALLY. This is a great “watching TV” snack. I’m sure many of you have made this before but just in case, here’s the recipe.
Bacon Carbonara Appetizers
INGREDIENTS:
2 Italian pizza crusts (6 inch)
1/4 cup any brand alfredo pasta sauce (I used CLASSICO)
6 slices cooked and crumbled bacon
3 Tbsp. chopped red onions
2 tsp. grated Parmesan cheese
2 tsp. chopped fresh parsley
Directions:
Heat oven to 350°F.
Place pizza crusts in single layer on baking sheet; spread with sauce.
Top with remaining ingredients.
Bake 8 min. or until crusts are crisp and golden brown, and pizzas are heated through.
Doesn’t that just sound delicious? We are pizza fans here at my house (well Mom and Dad are – me – I like to sniff it). If you like the ingredients – bacon/cheese/onions/alfredo sauce then you’ll love them all piled on a crispy pizza!
Add this one to your collection……………trust me………..you’ll be glad you did!
That sounds tasty!

Well, mama makes our pizza from scratch but we can surely put anything on it!! Sounds delish. She makes the tomato sauce, too. SO easy. In a saucepan, put a splash of olive oil, a cut up sweet onion, a can of Italian tomatoes (or two – this goes fast), a pinch of sugar and some salt. Simmer for 15 minutes and then pureé it in a blender or use a wand mixer. There’s your sauce for many more dishes and it’s really best made at home.
Sauce Alfredo in Italy is only butter and cheese on fettucine, no tomatoes.
Off to make pizza…mama is inspired so thank YOU. Happy Heart Day.

Alfredo sauce here is also without tomatoes…..it’s a nice change from tomatoes really – and Mom sometimes has a “problem” with tomatoes. She has found if she sprinkles some sugar on top of her pasta with tomato sauce she has a better time with her tummy!

I am going to try this tomorrow! Alex (my son) is allergic to tomatoes and we have been making pizza with pesto sauce. I have used Alfredo, but not since we moved back to Midway. A change would be nice and this sounds terrific! Thanks for the new recipe! You are AWESOME! Have a fabulishious day!

Hope you and Alex LOVE this as much as my Mom and Dad do……………pizza – yummy!

Son would like this. I don’t care for alfredo sauce. It’s snowing here. 2 inches when I shoveled and still coming slowly. Have a wonderful day.
