SPARK on Monday

Standard

Happy Monday!   Time to SPARK together!    What exactly IS this Monday SPARK thing we do?   Well, most of you know that Annie of McGuffy’s Reader – who started SPARKS – was hacked and has been on an extended break from blogging although her idea to spread some inspiration on Monday of every week goes on.   Many of us who participated in her SPARKS Blog Hop and found value in sharing a thought on Monday continue doing that to hopefully give each other a “Monday boost” – perhaps something to think about to inspire us in the week ahead OR help us deal with something that’s on our mind.    Why not join us by sharing something that SPARKS you?   It might just start a spark in us too.

I’ve been thinking a WHOLE lot about patience lately.    Sometimes I think I’m running out of it – sometimes I’m amazed at how much of it I have.   Somewhere in the middle is where I want to be.    This quote speaks to me………maybe it will speak to you too??

We’re all ready to get our “old” lives back but maybe even BETTER……..maybe we will have learned something after this is over……….maybe we will be rewarded for our PATIENCE??

Happy Monday!   Hugs, Pam

  1. This situation seems to bring out the best in some and the worst in others. I think a lot of people would like things to change for the better rather than just back to the way they were.

  2. It is hard to have patience with so many places seeing new spikes. If only all would follow the rules so we could get back to some sense of normalcy.

  3. Sometimes (well, lots of times) Mom feels like she’s losing patience with everything. We think the “new normal” will be somewhere in between what we’re doing now and what we used to do.

  4. This a good one. Mom says when she was younger, she had zero patience, and she is happy that over the years she has learned to have more. She thinks it is really necessary if your family includes cats, and it is particularly handy under our current circumstances. • I think that’s precisely what my Mom had in mind when she found this SPARK – she says she’s needed more patience in ALL THINGS including with Dad (what’s that mean????????).

    • Well I hear ya on that one….Patience may be a “virtue” but it can be kind of elusive. I’m an incurable optimist (as you know!) and I just have to believe that there’s better days ahead and if I’m patient I’ll see them. At my age, I want to finish up with a flourish and not a whimper! 🙂

  5. The Human has been talking with herself about gratitude lately, and also about finding ways to live a meaningful life for the next six months or year, until there’s a vaccine or an effective treatment. Patience is a huge part of that. At the first lockdown order (March 16 for us) she thought, Oh a month or so, it’ll be fine. Yeah, not so much. On the plus side, I think part of what got her blogging again was the need for more connection so no complaints from me for a change. My life is actually BETTER than it was before!

    • Spitty I’m so happy to hear that……..my Mom kept on doing my blog even though sometimes it felt like walking through quicksand. Now it keeps her motivated every day….connecting with the world keeps our world BIGGER than the one we have “in our head”……and that connection gives us strength. It’s just nice to have you BACK!!!

  6. I have to put on the cloak of patience every time I go to my work…sometimes I have several ‘pounds of patience’ in my pockets, and that stuff gets used up pretty fast some shifts…then I need another layer of that cloak to surround me.

Yes, Patience is a skill well learned, and I sure wish it was practiced more by all. This current age of instant gratification has a lot to do with flaring tempers of impatience, in my opinion…even for me at times, MOL!
