Friendly Fill Ins on Friday

Standard

Happy Friday – it’s a great day for filling in the blanks don’t you think?    Even after we had SNOW all day yesterday I’m still in a Friday mood and ready to complete some sentences.   Only this week I’m letting Mom do ALL the filling in while I rest.   It’s exhausting being me (hahahaha).

Take it away Mom!

1. I can’t wait to have a day with family and great food on Thanksgiving.
2. I am thankful for being alive.
3. When it comes to pie, I’m a major pumpkin pie girl – but I’ll happily settle for pecan!.
4. A feast is not a feast without friends or family (or both), laughter, and good food.
Thanks Mom – good job.   I know you will be gone Thanksgiving Day but that means I will be able to SLEEP all day anywhere in the house I want to.    Just as long as you bring back a “Teddy Bag” with some goodies for me I’ll be just fine.   Now all we have to do is hope that it’s not snowy next week like it is here today!    This is the earliest snow we’ve had in MANY years.    Hopefully it’s not a HINT of things to come!!!

I’m working on my Christmas Wish List – are you?

Hugs, Teddy

  1. Great answers from your mum, Teddy. I agree with all of them except #3. I don’t like pumpkin, but chocolate does it for me. Pecan is good too.

    • Mom says her Dad “insisted” on pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving dinner so she grew up with it as a “required dish” for turkey day! Chocolate pie, pecan pie, blueberry and even peach are all just as delicious. Come to think of it, there are very few pies my Mom doesn’t like!

  2. Pumpkin pie is good! My biped is planning on making one soon, along with some more pumpkin bread. I’ll be helping.

One of our Mulberry’s nicknames is pumpkin pie. I think it’s because he’s the same colour as the filling and is sweet! 😀

  3. Great fill-ins Miss Pam! I love pecan pie, myself, or apple, not a huge fan of pumpkin. We already had our Thanksgiving in Canada, back in October. We are having our very first snow storm today, it started last night. Calvin looked out the window and immediately went back to sleep, he’s not ready for snow, I don’t think.

  4. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I have never had pecan pie, I should try it because I love pecans. I hope the weather is good for Thanksgiving so you can enjoy it with your family. I am thankful you are alive too. Have a nice weekend! XO

    • IT’s really delicious……….I should do that recipe – maybe next Saturday. Tomorrow The King of Baconia is doing a NON-BACON recipe on the blog tough – I’m making sweet potato/pineapple casserole instead!

  6. We are excited for Thanksgiving too. All the family but one will be here for the big day. That makes it very special. And we sure hope to score some turkey!!! Mom will make a pumpkin pie, but apple pie is her favorite.

    • Oh how wonderful you will have a house full of family. That’s what Thanksgiving is about – love, family, and of course good food and being thankful for all the wonderful things in our lives (!).

  7. I am pleased to say we are have reservations at Angus Barn for T’giving dinner. It is our first time trying this. Bryan’s Train Buddies have been telling us a bout it for years. I made our reservations in June and (it is quite popular) I got one of the 2 remaining reservations. WooHoo
    Love me some pumpkin
    too

    • Have a perfectly wonderful Thanksgiving dinner – not familiar with Angus Barn but I say “let someone else do all the work and I’ll just EAT EAT EAT!!”…..we will expect a FULL REPORT on what you had and how it was after you and Mr. Bryan enjoy your dinner.

  8. Teddy, your mom completed the fill-ins with perfect answers. Our mom had some similar ones. Her mouth is already watering for both pumpkin and pecan pie, which she’ll be making again this year. The only thing she’s not looking forward to is the long drives on Tuesday and Saturday. Sending lots of kisses for you from her. • The drives will be a pain but what fun your Mom and Dad will have with your Dad’s family – she always says she has a super good time! My Mom and Dad only have a little over an hour and half to drive so that’s a lot better than the drive your parents have. I just hope EVERYONE has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

  9. I can’t wait for Thanksgiving either! It will just be me and David here, but it is going to be a wonderful day anyway. 🙂

Pecan pie is great! I will be making one for Thanksgiving. We plan to have a cheesecake sometime this week, too, but I won’t be making one of those until I can get the correct pan for the job.

Have a blessed weekend and a very Happy Thanksgiving!

  10. I’m with you Teddy, The Male and Female Human will be driving to Seattle to have Thanksgiving with relatives. While they are gone we will have a most excellent cat sitter and I know just how to manipulate her with my saddest face to get extra treats and petting!

  11. Petcretary is going to try a paleo styled Pumpkin creation, likely un-crusted to decrease the carb count. And a spicy cranberry sauce, more like a salsa. Mmmm! And sliced and baked acorn squash. Probably some roasted Brussels sprouts as well. They taste so yummy that way instead of boiled, (ugh)!
And we snagged a nice organic turkey! YUM!

  12. You are so sweet to let your mom take a turn with the fill-ins, Teddy. And she sure did a great job! This human here is also a huge fan of pumpkin pie, with pecan as a close second. Thanksgiving is such a perfect time for family, friends, and good food.
