SPARK on Monday

Standard

Here we go with another week……the days fly by……and we’re still here!  Monday means starting out another week with a light heart and a right attitude.    At least that’s what I try to do.    What is SPARKS?   Mondays are the start of a new week and why not start that week with a thought or message or reminder of the fact that Mondays set the tone for the week ahead – why not make it powerful.     That was the idea that Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader had when she began the SPARK posts a few years ago – before her blog was hacked and she stopped posting. We hope she will be back soon – we miss her but in her honor many of us have been carrying the SPARKS torch on Mondays.   Just something to make us stop and think – prepare us for facing a new day – and facing a holiday that will be here before you know it!   Christmas!

OK – before YOU say it – I’ll say it. “Isn’t it a little early to talk about Christmas??”………………..well, yes and no. For one thing I think most of us who celebrate Christmas are MORE THAN READY for it this year. It’s been a hideous year – we need something to make us smile and “let the kid out”. My inner kid was itching to decorate earlier than usual so I did my front porch decorating and that helped. But that wasn’t ALL I wanted to do. I wanted to find a SPARK that contained all the enthusiasm I have for what is my favorite holiday and time of the year………………….

I found this and thought it was really what I wanted to say and how I really feel:

And I believe in Santa Claus – yes I do.   Santa Claus is a FEELING………..and I’ve always had that FEELING.   I intend to hang on to it until my last breath too!

Hugs, Pam

  1. You found a great Spark for this Monday. I love the idea of making wishes and having faith they will come true and finding some joy or lots of joy in everything we do. I do believe in Santa Claus, yes I do. Very sweet Spark. I have my buds in and I am listening to Chris Standring and Kathrin Shorr singing their album, Send Me Some Snow! No snow here but rain is almost at our doorstep… big old squall line. So, you got BIG RAIN! Hope you do get to nap under the Christmas tree, Teddy. Tell your Pop to drag that box up from the basement ’cause I think your Mom is ready to decorate that tree! Get ready, get set, get FESTIVE!

  2. I believe in Santa, too! He is the Spirit of Goodness. He is the Global Ambassador of Goodness that crosses all boundaries – race, gender, age, religion, nationality, and more. So, I’m right with you on this one, Pam! Have a good week. After all, I know Teddy hogs the blog most of the time.

    • Well I started the blog for Angel Sammy and when we got Teddy after Sammy left us I figured maybe we’d SHARE it – Teddy is supposed to be THE GUY – I’m just the power behind the throne! HAHA Santa Claus is in our hearts from a very young age and he remains in various forms for our lifetime (if we’re lucky). He’s goodness, and love, and hope, and believing…. Bring on Christmas!

    • Oh wow…..I think we all might have a favorite Christmas from our childhood. I can remember how excited I was to find a dollhouse under the tree one year. I become a child again every Christmas!

  3. Believe it or not, I have ALWAYS believed in Santa Claus!! When I was 7 I was sleeping and heard bells jingling outside, I stood up on the bed and I SWEAR I saw Santa and his sleigh in the sky and NO I was NOT still sleeping! Have remained a believer ever since! xoxo

  4. Yup, its going to be a lot like Christmas!! Here and there and everywhere!
But unless hubby can start using the stairs safely again, we can’t decorate the living room…its too full of pull-out couch! Can barely get to my wall clock to pull up the weights…so we’ll have to find another way to get the Christmas-y going here…yes, we need the spirit! We believe in Christmas!
I love to make the house look festive, esp this year we need it:)

    • You have the Christmas spirit Ingrid and I just bet you will figure out a way to add some Christmas to the living room…..festive pillows or garland – We are all needing the spirit of the holiday this year and I am SURE you can do this!!!

  6. I thought I had come to the wrong place! I like your elf on the shelf.
I have ordered a lot of Christmas goodies to be delivered, but it will be very different this year. We can’t even mix with others indoors and only a maximum group of 6 outdoors. If it is cold and frosty that won’t happen!

    • Same here……no group get-togethers and in fact only supposed to “mix” with those in your own home. That’s not a problem for us other than we’ll miss seeing our next door neighbors. We will just have the three of us and a Christmas ham, and lots of happy Christmas tunes…….and be glad we’re OK !

      Love, Pam
