It’s official………………it must be early Fall………….it was warm yesterday (almost 90) but even though it was warm, leaves were falling from the trees! That means Fall right? RIGHT???? It won’t be long before my yard looks like this…….I just know it!

Mom even put the Fall wreath on the front door……that’s another sure sign……..see? I may be old but I notice stuff! That means the leaf machine will be coming out of “summer retirement” down in the basement soon. Dad will haul that thing up and jam it into the garage.

I even changed my Blog Header to something Fall-ish…………..another sure sign.
Mom moved all the summery stuff in her closet to one side and all the Fallish stuff to the other…………yep – that means something too!
I don’t care about all this truly – makes no difference to me…….I’m just happy to be here!!! No matter what season it is……………How about you? What’s your FAVE season????

Hi Summer! I think summer HOT is gone for good around here……..this morning it’s 65 and we’ll probably sneak up to the low 80s but days are shorter, the cool evenings feel cooler – Mom wears a sweater on the front porch now in the evening………it feels good to have a break from heat but still it’s a reminder that SNOW is on its’ way in a few months!!!!

My Mom made all the wreaths for the seasons herself…..craft store – buy bare grapevine wreath – fake ivy, flowers, leaves, ferns, whatever – bow – and VOILA! Done! Typist could do it…..I’m sure!

I’m ready for fall, it’s still as hot as in hell here, but our fall decoration is arranged and I’m waiting for howl-o-ween. It’s great when it is dark in the morning and we always watch how the mist is raising and how the world becomes visible bit by bit. The only bad thing are the leaves, it’s annoying to remove them… and I feel sorry for your daddy when he has to start the leave-a-thon :o)

Mom and Dad USED to love doing the leaf thing with the leaf machine on the back of the tractor but as they’ve gotten older “the thrill is gone” !!! HAHAHA…..It’s 64 here this morning and breezy…….easy to imagine Fall is just around the corner!!!! Soon we’ll be having fires in the fireplace and I won’t be complaining about THAT! I like when the family room is toasty from the fire. Hopefully your chimney is now in perfect shape?????

Oh yes! Same here……..my Dad especially loves Fall. A couple of our trees are dropping leaves already but we think it’s mostly because of the drought….poplars are almost always FIRST on the leaf drop parade!

Tell your Mom to make her wreath and then she’ll have one EXACTLY like she wants. My Mom got a plain grapevine wreath from the craft store and bought stuff to put on it for each season! It was EASY PEASY……she didn’t even use a glue gun. Trust me – if my Mom can do it ANYONE can (tee hee).

YES we saw all that snow – our blogging friend Nellie from The Cat From Hell had some photos of BIG SNOW in Calgary. EEEEK! Believe me I have not put any Sammy Whammy action out there in the globe so I’m innocent! Mom made our Fall wreath (all the wreaths in fact) – just a grapevine wreath from the craft store and then she decorates it however it should be for the seasons! It was fun – although they’re like 15 years old and she’s itching to make a whole NEW batch now! This may be the last year for this wreath!

Summer was too darn short here too CK. I’m kind of looking forward to fires in the fireplace though. I sit on the end of the sofa closest to the fire and enjoy the heat blast. Normally I don’t sit in that spot – just in the winter when there’s a fire. When I was young I liked going out IN the snow – WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?!?!?!?!

I’m glad you’re warm though……I agree with you though about snow because when you get lots of it when there’s still leaves on the trees the trees BREAK….we had that happen a few winters ago and it was heartbreaking (and limb-breaking!). We had to have so many of our beautiful trees trimmed and thankfully they all recovered. It was still sad. Please stay nice and cozy and warm – I worry about you!

Usually we like Fall Sammy, but it just jumped in we have had our first frost last night! That is a month early! We have been having rain and cold for three day and the high is only in the 50’s today. Summer disappeared…..sigh….
