SPARK on Monday

Hello SPARK Friends………………’s Monday yet again and time for a SPARK to give you a little extra push on a Monday morning.    SPARKS is a Monday tradition – how did it start and what IS IT?  “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when her blog was hacked some time ago.  It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it.   Although Annie isn’t currently blogging, a lot of us who enjoyed her SPARKS decided to keep posting SPARKS of our own.   Why?   Because sometimes we need a little “spark” in our lives and these posts were meant to at least be a PART of that effort.   Please feel free to post your own SPARK on your blog and let everyone know you have…….we get energy from each other that way!

I have been enjoying the crisp mornings, leaves falling like rain, wearing sweaters and warm jackets – Autumn is my favorite.   Now I will tell you in Spring that Spring is my favorite so I guess I’m a split personality when it comes to weather.   I love the renewal of Spring but I love the coziness of Autumn.     I found a great thought which REALLY speaks to me of the things I love about Autumn and chose it for my SPARK this week:

The message to me is – keep it simple!    Autumn is to be enjoyed not worried over – yes Winter is coming but let’s enjoy every minute of the “in between” of Autumn.   It’s cozy time.

Snuggly Hugs, Pam

  1. I am right there with you, Miss Pam! We had to make a few long drives this weekend, and the colors around here are still quite pretty, though their prime is gone…the sun was out, so wonderful to take it all in.
We saw a lot of geese flying in their typical V formations, I always wonder how they can do that with such synchrony!

I have been making ‘Golden Milk’ on these cooler nights, we don’t use hot chocolate very much, the turmeric powder lends a spicy warm touch to the almond milk. A teaspoon turmeric powder, and add to your taste, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, a pinch of black pepper, and sweetener of choice, can add nutmeg or cardamon as well. Warm a cup or two of almond milk…or any milk, really;, and then stir in the other ingredients and enjoy. (Some peeps add coconut oil, to help the turmeric be better absorbed, which is why there is the black pepper as well…)

We are supposed to have gorgeous weather the next few days…hooray, I am off!!

    • Enjoy your days off Ingrid and I’ve never heard of “Golden Milk” but it sounds simply delicious – I’ll have to give it a go. We have a lake two houses down from us so see the geese flying RIGHT over our house often and close enough we can hear their wings…..The leaves are falling in profusion but the colors in the sun make it look like it’s raining jewels! I just love Fall….we have some days in the HIGH 60s this week – WOW.

  2. Oh, Pam, you made our day so lovely. We looked out our windows at breakfast and saw the sun streaming over the now-almost-bare garden, but the hibiscus was singing out a new catalan-colored bloowm and the lemons on our tree were beginning to color for Feb/March use. Not to mention a certain black and white magpie enjoying the birdbath while another black and white creature stared at the intrusion! Ho hum, I just wish to lie here in the sun and drink up the coud formations in our very blue sky and look forward to a little rest by the fire tonight with those two (forgiven) deserters.

    • I had to forgive my parents for deserting me last night but they were just going right next door to visit with our neighbors….for a little relaxation, fun, catching up….and they weren’t gone for that long. It was a gorgeous day and lots of leaves still coming down. I kind of enjoy playing in the leaves pretending to be a GREAT HUNTER. I’m glad your Mama and Papa are home and your world is all HAPPY again!!

      Hugs, Teddy

  3. Autumn is a lovely time of year for walking and enjoying the countryside. I let the bipeds rest after a long walk though – while I’m taking a nap!

    • Nice of you to let your bipeds have a little rest after a long walk…..they’re tired out enough that they don’t disturb you while you snooze! Works out for everybody right Clowie?

      Hugs, Teddy

  4. We are exactly alike. I love Autumn and Spring. I don’t care for Summer much at all. Winter is hard sometimes to get through, but it beats being baked alive in Summer.

  5. I am all about this season… the weather is cooperating here too. We have some trees in the Preserve that get colorful and that makes me happy! I’ve had my jeans on a few days! SSNS doesn’t miss hoovering up the leaves… I miss watching him though, and sitting out under the oaks with a fire.
    Good Morning!

  6. I LOVE your spark! Fall is always my favorite! I am sorry that ours has been cut short by bitter winds! All the leaves have bee stripped (even the larch needles are almost all gone). We have had some incredible winds, even the cats don’t want to go out! We hope you are having a marvellously happy day and the cats have told me I MUST try to be a firstie tomorrow!

I wanna know what YOU've got to say!!
