Monday morning………….start of a new week. Time for a thought to light the SPARK for your week ahead! Good time to start off with something to really THINK about right? “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when her blog was hacked some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Sometimes we need a little “spark” in our lives and these posts were meant to at least be a PART of that effort. Please feel free to post a SPARK of your own on your blog and let everyone know you have…….we get energy from each other that way!
My SPARK today is about goals………….do you make them? More importantly do you WORK on achieving them? Our goals change a lot as we age. I find myself thinking that my current goal should be “LIVE TO ENJOY ANOTHER DAY”………..No I didn’t say “ANOTHER WEEK” or “ANOTHER YEAR” – it’s one day at a time. A reasonable goal right? If we’re going to be here a while, we need to make sure we keep setting goals for ourselves. Reaching for the stars is what they used to say. All the time reaching for the best day.
Aristotle had the right idea………………I’d like to say I have this habit but I’m still a work in progress. But I know what my GOAL is! Happy Monday.
Wow, Mr A certainly had it right. And yes, work in progress applies to mama, too. I’ll just talk about her because I don’t want to be too arrogant about myself, but yes, I guess I am also a kitty-in-progress, for sure. But mama thinks I have achieved excellence already. She is a bit homesick, I think. Papa, too.

I think we have a big picture goal but at my age I just live what’s up for today. I get overwhelmed by things down the road. I am a fly by the seat of my pants kinda gal 🙂

Aristotle was a very wise man…..I w you always find such good inspiration Pam ill say I do not strive for excellence. I just strive to survive each day & accomplish as much as my body will allow. And try to stay positive.

I am surprised that I had never heard this quote from Aristotle, but it is definitely a good one. Excellence is hard to attain, but it sure doesn’t hurt to strive for it. Even if we fall short, as long as we know we did our best, that’s a win. Hugs and love, Janet

Mom says she’d never heard of the quote either but it REALLY spoke to her (which sounds pretty spooky to me!).

Never heard this one before. It’s a good one. My goal is just to feel better. Once I can figure that out I think things will be pretty good. Have a good day. 60’s, humid, and some sprinkles.

My goals are not very majestic, but I live to make each day count for whomever I might come iin contact with…at work, at the grocery store, and of course for hubby!
Aristotle might have lived centuries ago, but his wisdom counts even now:)
