Friendly Fill-Ins Friday

FILLINS

We’re Filling In Today!

Yep – that’s what we’re doing.   Mom and I are BOTH going to pawticipate in the Friday Fill-ins from 15andMeowing and McGuffy’s Reader.   Up until now, we’ve been taking turns filling in but we thought WHY NOT BOTH FILL IN so we are.

SamPortraitWith Mom

Here are the sentences that needed filling in and FIRST UP will be Mom then me – and both of our fill-in answers will be in BLUE!

Friendly Fill-In Statements: Week 8

1. I never thought I would miss taking a yearly vacation, but I do.
2. Every 4th of July we buy “fountain” fireworks to watch in our own front yard – we both love the colors and the fact that they are QUIET!
3. If I knew THEN what I know NOW, I would probably still not change a THING about how I’ve lived my life!
4. I have trouble fixing my hair almost every morning – it’s so much thinner now than it used to be.
Thanks Mom – now for MY fill-ins………………
Friendly Fill-In Statements: Week 8

1. I never thought I would miss being young and healthy, but I do.
2. Every 4th of July I dread all the neighborhood noisy firecrackers but THIS year, I can’t hear very well so NO PROBLEM!!.
3. If I knew who my cat Mom and Dad had been, I would tell them that even though they abandoned me under an old house when I was a tiny kitten, my life turned out to be WONDERFUL!.
4. I have trouble getting up and down stairs because of my arthritis but Mom carries me when I need help.
So there you have it – DOUBLE FILL-INS from me and Mom…………….these were kind of tough for some reason……..Mom had a horrible time answering #1 and I had a tough time with #3.   That’s a good thing though – Friendly Fill-Ins make you really THINK……….don’t they?    Thanks Miss Ellen and Miss Ann for hosting the Fill-Ins every week!    If you want to see other Fill-ins OR link up your own responses on your blog, just click one of the host links and you can play along!    15andMeowing     McGuffys Reader

  1. I love your fill in’s… and I agree for the firework… we like that fountains too, but the fact that they are silent is no guarantor that we can use them inside… my dad learnt that lesson as he saw the black ceiling :o)

    • UHOH….well I have to admit, Mom has never tried lighting ANY fireworks in the house although I accidentally ate some chili once and the fireworks were close to blowing the place up!

    • HA! Early bird today huh? Maybe your brain thought it was Tuesday?????? We think that we’re going to have rain for the 4th so maybe NO noisy fireworks around………As for getting up early – well – I got Mom up at 2:34AM this morning……..aren’t I a little stinker???!!!! Happy Friday!

      • I have been up since 3:30, same as yesterday. We are going to have rain too. They are predicting 2 to 6 inches with severe storms and we have The Mama’s birthday party to go to. We just may stay home. We will have CHEESEBURGERS and think about your Mom and Dad eating homemade ice cream… 😀 And yes, you are a little stinker but we LOVE you! Happy Friday back at you, Sammy! Scritches and hugs!

        • My Mom is actually beginning to LIKE my getting her up at 2:30…..how weird is that?! HAHAHA Uhoh on the storms – maybe staying home is a good idea even though you will miss The Mama’s birthday pawty – I’m sure she will understand. It’s kinda scary traveling in a storm…….still, cheeseburgers taste just as good at home as they do anywhere else – maybe even BETTER!!!! Sending you Friday Hugs!

    • It’s true isn’t it…..we are in a bad situation but it turns out to be a GOOD situation after all. Just goes to show that you never know what the future holds – just hope for the best and you might get it! Happy Friday!

  3. WOW- thank you for each putting your answers! I enjoyed both sets, you really outdid yourselves. I am sorry you have trouble on the steps Sammy, but how nice you have your Mom to carry you. Those fireworks fountains are great- I like the quiet part too. Have a great 4th! XO

    • My Mom is helpful – if I need to hitch a ride on the stairs, she’s right there – she says she’s glad I weigh less than I used to because I was a butterball before and carrying me was tougher. Now I’m Mr. Slim and weigh practically nothing…….We hope our neighbors will switch from noisy/scary fireworks to quiet ones this year for a change BUT knowing them they won’t!

  4. Both of you have good answers here. I can relate to the vacations, hair, “Mom”. But, I think I may have nade some decisions differently, had I known how things would turn out. I trusted the wrong people, but I know I was sincere.
I can relate to you, too, Sammy. And some of my furkids can, too. Maggie and Kenzie are getting older and have a couple of issues. With Maggie, it is her heart.
Thanks for joining in here. HUGS! Annie at ~McGuffy’s Reader~

    • We love the fill-ins Miss Ann…..we had trouble linking to Miss Ellen’s blog (the format was weird again this week) but we do love both of you for starting the fill-ins because it’s just SUPER DUPER FUN!

      Happy Weekend!

  5. Good morning to Sammy and his Mommy. 🙂 I’m sorry that you have arthritis, too, Sammy. Stairs are no fun anyway.

Do you know what is causing the thinning hair? Are you anemic, too? When I was severely anemic back in 2010, I lost a lot of my hair. Thankfully, it has come back and is curling again. I hope yours will thicken back up for you, no matter the cause of the thinning.

    Have a blessed weekend!

    • My Mom’s hair got super thin (it was always thin but not SUPER thin) when she had chemo treatments some years ago…….it just never grew back like it had been but that’s not at all unusual either.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend – we’re hoping it’s QUIET and no super noisy fireworks but there are neighbors who almost ALWAYS have the noisiest possible fireworks and they have them almost ALL NIGHT LONG! BOOOOO!!!!!!

      • Awww I am so sorry that your mommy had to go through chemo. I know that is really hard. Praise the Lord she made it through and is better now. 🙂
I’m sorry about the loud times coming. We hear the popping, booming, and cracking all night here, too. It is both exciting and agitating (especially if you have a headache).
Have a furbulous weekend, Sammy. 🙂

        • Mom is absolutely FINE now thanks…..and who needs hair anyway?! HAHAHA We think we might have RAIN on July 4th here which would mean QUIET instead of noisy booming fireworks BUT eventually when the rain stops they’ll still happen. Oh well – it’s only once a year after all when people go crazy with their fireworks!

          • I’m glad your mom is fine now. You’re welcome. 🙂 Hopefully it won’t be trading fireworks for thunder. That can be just as bad. Enjoy the rain if it comes. Fireworks only happen once a year where you live? Hugs, Suz

          • Well the BIG fireworks thing is July 4th……the other really BIG day would be New Year’s Eve but that’s also my birthday (January 1st) so I’m too busy celebrating THAT to worry about fireworks anyway! HAHAHAHA

          • That is totally understandable, Sammy. Who notices the banging noises outside when there are fun things happening inside? At least no one ever forgets your birthday with it being on January 1st. That is great! 🙂 Hugs, Suzanne

          • January 1st is a fun day for a birthday – we don’t know when my REAL birthday is since I was brought into the shelter after being found under an old house but I was very young and the shelter “guessed” at January 1st. I’m a New Year’s Baby!

We have had quite a few kitties that we had to estimate birthdays for along the way.

  8. Loved your answers! Hope you have a wonderful Independence Weekend, despite the noise! As per your arthritis, our dear Mr. M suffered from that, too – dear old tom thought stairs were cruel and unusual punishment … then he became a tester for cat-a-bliss blends, one of which had silvervine as an ingredient… you would not believe how spry he is, now … and how possessive he is of the silvervine stick Kiara, of Cat-a-bliss gave him!

    • Sam doesn’t react to catnip but DOES react to silvervine…..I had no idea it had an effect on arthritis pain but I may have to get MORE if that’s the case! THanks for mentioning it and have a SUPER DUPER 4th!!

  13. We loved your fill-ins this week…like we usually do but it was fun cause both of you participated. Your mom’s hair is getting thinner and our mom has very thick and heavy hair. She has to get it cut every 6 weeks as it pulls the curl out.

Mom forgot all about the fill-ins this Friday. We are very disappointed in her as she went off to the park for Canada Day.
