Teaser Tell All

Thank you all for being so prompt in reporting for Geography class today – obviously you’re ANXIOUS to hear where that photo from yesterday was taken right?   Well I won’t torture you and make you wait for long but we need to take care of business first before handing out the prizes!

Hurry up! I wanna know who wins WHAT!

Hurry up! I wanna know who wins WHAT!

First bit of business is to tell you that this was NOT a Guest Teaser – I didn’t say if it was or wasn’t yesterday but it was NOT……..my Mom and Dad took this photo on a trip some years (like a lot of years) ago to (drum roll please)………………..NEW YORK CITY!!!!!!!!

A lot of you got it right but then I’m getting ahead of myself again……………….let’s show the photo one more time then hand out the goodies!

Mom and Dad stayed on the bazillionth floor of a hotel in downtown Manhattan and Mom THINKS (remember she’s old and her memory is dim) that they took this photo from up there…….but who knows – she could have been cruising around in a space ship for all I know!   Dad says she’s nuts – that they took it from atop the Empire State Building (where the space ship landed…hahaha).   Anyway, it’s definitely NYC!

Who was my FIRST COMMENTER?    We had TWO of them……………..came in the same time in fact……………..they were Easy (the speedy Weim) and Oliver and Calvin (my Facebook buddies)!  Both of you get THIS!

I was First Commenter on Sammy's Teaser of 6/21/16

I was First Commenter on Sammy’s Teaser of 6/21/16

Then we waited around watching the guesses until we finally got our FIRST RIGHT GUESSER……….who was it?    Well congratulations to Charles Huss for being FIRST !    Charles’ blog “Bad Cat Chris” is a hoot……..we love hearing the adventures of those Florida kitties!  This is for you Charles:

I was FIRST RIGHT GUESSER on Sam's Teaser on 6/21/16

I was FIRST RIGHT GUESSER on Sam’s Teaser on 6/21/16

Several others leaped on that guess OR guessed without seeing anyone else’s guess and just plain KNEW!    All of you who did, get this!

I wasn't FIRST but I was RIGHT on the Teaser of 6/21/16

I wasn’t FIRST but I was RIGHT on the Teaser of 6/21/16

And if you guessed Boston, or Chicago, or Upper Tazmania, or Borneo, etc.  – YOU get a GREENIE – LUCKY YOU!!!!!!!   Anyone who was wrong STILL is a winner:

I didn't get the Teaser right on 6/21/16 BUT I tried!

I didn’t get the Teaser right on 6/21/16 BUT I tried!

I don’t dare ask Suzie if she’d like to give a cheer to our winners today – she’s a bit unstable (again) – so I think we’ll leave her in her padded cell cheerleading practice room this morning and simply say – we’ll hope next week she can try for “NICE” again!

Bravo class……….as usual you have made me proud.   As your Professor of Geography I like seeing that you are studying and researching which is putting you in line for a WINNER’S badge one of these weeks if you haven’t won one yet.   KEEP TRYING……………where there’s a will, there’s a way!

I'll be at my desk here in the front of the class next Monday for the Pre-Tease post....see you then!

  1. No wonder that I went a little bit lost by following my childhood memories. One of my friends thought as a child that Dallas is an agricultural programme because he lived near the Hungarian-Austrian border and could watch the Austrian TV but could not speak German.

    • HAHAHA…..Dallas was quite the hit in its’ day……….and it’s a HUGE city too and really there are a lot of BIG CITIES in the US that look like NYC. Mom has other shots of that visit that show the Twin Towers – a bit spooky but wonderful to still have those after the tragedy of 9/11.

      Hugs, Sammy

  2. Yayy! I was a right guesser. Mum thought it looked like a lot of her photos from the top of the Empire State Building, but in hers the Chrysler building is to the side. (She thinks it was the Chrysler building). Of course she was stood well back with her arms outstretched trying to get her photos so it probably would be a different angle.

  3. You are killing me with Suzie… ! Congratulations to Easy, and Oliver and Calvin. And a big congratulations to Charles Huss and the other right guessers. Have to check out the link to Bad Cat Chris. Good Morning, Sammy, and Sammy’s Mom!

  5. How could I not recognize my favorite city ? Congratulations to the winners. And poor Suzy, I think she is going to get fresher if she can’t get those naughty cheers out. XO

  6. We think your Dad is right….it looks like it was taken from the Empire State Building. We saw Flynn’s comment about the Chrysler and we think it’s hidden by the tall dark building.

    • Yeah – Mom had second thoughts – but she’s still going to look in her travel journal to find out about the HIGH UP room in the hotel………she said it was very WAY UP……..and we did a Teaser a long time ago with a sunset shot from that room!!

      Hugs, Sammy

  7. Oh.my.piggy.heavens. What?! It *was* New York City. Piggy Down – THUD. I can’t believe I actually guessed one. Snorts with piggy laughter. XOXO – Bacon

  8. Congrats to every buddy…I purrsonally think mom must have failed Geography miserably..she will not confirm or deny this
    Hugs madi your bfff

    • Moms rarely admit to being wrong….they always find a way around actually saying “whoops I was wrong”………there’s always “I was distracted” or “I couldn’t see cuz my eyes were blurred” or some such excuse! Moms are tricky!

      Love, Sammy

  11. That’s a much prettier view of NYC than the one I had from my “hotel” in my one excursion therein 2001. From the 6th floor of the erstwhile Empire Hotel, one could see another nearby tall building taking up the entire panorama. The real view was looking down and seeing through the glass ceiling of the adjacent steakhouse. I got to watch other people eat from afar long before smartphones and Facebook were ever invented…

    • We really got some great photos from “up high”………..some of them had the Twin Towers in them which I’m glad that I have……….seeing other people chowing down on steak through a glass ceiling sounds like fun although I’d rather be chowing than watching!
