Woo Woo!!!! It’s here………………….my day……………….bacon is on the menu of course and I’m happy about that. Mom and Dad are making bacon/egg/cheese sammiches and I’m sure I can “wangle” a little bit of all three of those things for my plate!
Yesterday my parents took on the first LEAF SUCKING VENTURE of this Fall. That’s right – hooked up the tractor to the leaf machine and around and around the yard Mom went – took less than an hour and only three “dumps” of the leaf bag thing to get it all done. The leaf machine we have sucks up the leaves and grinds them up before depositing them in the big canvas square bag on the back of the tractor and it’s pretty big so holds a whole lot of ground up leaves. Our neighbors on either side have leaf sucking attachments to their mowers BUT they don’t “pre-grind” the leaves into itty bitty pieces so they’re constantly having to empty their bags or containers. NOT US! So the yard looks tons better and there’s more grass available and accessible for ME to have a snack when I want one! Here’s some photos Mom took AFTER she finished mowing………..
I guess today is supposed to be another pretty day so I’m hoping for more sun and more outside time. Mom’s been pretty swell to take me out every time I SCREAM at the front door. What a Mom!!!
What else is going on in my world? Not much…………..which is FINE with me……we older guys like our LEISURE time!!!! Happy Weekend…………
Hugs, Sammy
P.S. DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES IN SAM-O-WEEN COSTUME CONTEST COMING – OCTOBER 28th LAST DAY!

The autumn yard and porch look amazing, S. The lawn guys were here yesterday doing the same thing as your mom TIMES TEN. It was too noisy for my taste, but Mom took me out walking anyway, I had to be brave and be a good girl. I got a lot of treats, Mom didn’t have to carry me even ONCE. Also, one of the lawn guys petted me and called me, “Buddy” even though I was wearing a pink scarf with cupcakes on it.
Love and licks,

That leaf sucking machine could certainly be used around here. M & D used to use their mower, but the last couple of years, it’s too much work for them, so they hire the job out.

Yes we really are getting to that point here – we have LOTS of huge trees which obviously have LOTS of leaves in the Fall……the leaf machine is grand but it still takes an hour to do all the leaves front and back. Mom and Dad have thought about having someone do it for us but we need to find out what EXACTLY they do – do they take the leaves with them when they leave??????

Sammy, the leaves on the trees in your yard are gorgeous. We don’t have as many pretty leaves around our city this year. Not enough leaves down yet for Dad to start cleaning them up. We like the photo of you on the porch bathing. Now that Mom has her photos for Somewhere in Time finished, she can get Mau’s uniform done plus our Halloween photos. Have missed you but know how busy you are AND with health problems too – NO WORRIES! Just stop by when you can……….OK? We are having a pretty Fall so far…..Mom and Dad have only just begun with the leaf sucking machine – there’s rain off and on this coming week so there won’t be any leaf work but the following week – OOH LA LA!

CH has had the leaf sucker hooked up to Cubby the tractor for about a week now and has done two sessions of sucking and grinding and you should have seen the dust flying… he looked like Pig-Pen! So dry here. He is hoping to be done by the end of the first week of November if the leaves cooperate. Your colors are so pretty!

That dust thing happened here too – Mom didn’t wear a hat and by the time she finished her hair was three shades lighter and so were her clothes! HAHAHAHA We’ll be doing the leaves again this coming week……no way will we be finished by the first of November – we still amazingly have a lot of green leaves still!!!

Those trees look like sheer joy! Why is the older I get, the more I love plants! you have a great Mom there Sammy, taking you outside when you “request” ❤

Funny you should say that about plants….Mom says she really never paid much attention to the brilliant colored leaves until she got to be 87 bazillion years old. When she was younger, they were just trees and just leaves. Now they’re like MAGIC.
