So it’s the Friday before Memorial Day weekend here in the Washington, DC area and what that means for us is TRAFFIC………….and NOISE…………..! See we live fairly close to a major highway and it’s a main route to the interstate that takes people into Washington, DC (over an hour away from here). So everyone in the universe who wants to go down to the Mall or walk around the monuments or visit Arlington Cemetery comes down the highway – especially the pawsome guys called “Rolling Thunder”…………here’s their website if you’ve not heard of them……. http://rollingthunderrun.com/ It’s a great organization and their cause is a good one but they sure can make a LOT of noise on their bikes when they’re riding into town! WOWZER!
I’ve always thought I’d look pretty cool on a motorcycle…………..this one would be just about the right size for me – don’t you think?
I look at it and all I can hear in my head is Steppenwolf singing “Born To Be Wild” !!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Anyway, enough of that fantasizing – let’s just say it won’t be a quiet weekend around here but we’ll probably be having so much fun we won’t notice the noise………….we’re having our own cookout and probably going to a neighbor’s AND no doubt we’ll be spending a lot of time out in the yard because it’s supposed to be GORGEOUS here. No time to even pay attention to the noise (even the barky beagles next door!).
Mom mowed the yard yesterday so that’s done…………..now all I need to do is WAIT…………….wait for the fun to begin. Also remember on the Tabby Cat Club on the 25th we’re having our own Indy 500 celebration…..you don’t want to miss that now do you???? Heck no!!!!

Oh that thunder rolls on my street too. It’s an endless caravan, every weekend. Butt guess what? This guys are the only ones who drive slowly through my kraal. Who’da thunk it? I think you would look great on such a bike thingy… but you should wear a helmet, maybe one with holes for your ears :o)

Hi Fozziemum! The Indy 500 is a major HUGE deal here and I think the TCC pawty will be totally cool…..glad the girls are coming to join in the fun. As for the motorcycles on the highway – considering the good cause they are riding for, we don’t mind the noise THAT much although we’re happy when the weekend is over and quiet returns!

Happy Face – I *love* long weekends. That means mommy is home and that is a great time! Can you believe that I personally got invited to several barbeques and cook-outs for this weekend? Mom/dad laughed at the invitations… something about me being the star of the cook-out. I don’t get it. But I think we are going to have a quiet weekend here at the Hotel Thompson. Sammy, we cannot believe you didn’t jump on that motorcycle and take it for a spin. That would be such much fun…feeling the wind blowing through your furs. Mau is pretty dejected about the Indy 500 being moved to Tabby Cat Club. He hopes all you Tabby kitties will have a great time. He says that he’ll drop by to check all of you out, but we won’t be posting him with his cool Indy car on our blog. We will tell our readers to stop over and check it out however. Have a meowvolous weekend. it will be quiet and low key around here as Mom is barely able to get about and can’t spend too much time on her feet. Hope Denmaster can get things settled at Cat Scouts very soon. Wolverines had to postpone Tubby’s Birthday again. We sure were fortunate that the Philippines trip didn’t get messed up. Please make sure and tell Mau that the Tabby Cat Club is hosting EVERYBODY at the Indy – not just tabbies…..it’s just a spot where we CAN gather since we CAN’T gather at Scouts!!! Everyone will be there whether they’re tabbies or not so it will be a blast. I’m going to have a Memorial Day Cookout on MY blog (would have done it at Scouts….but) on Monday the 26th for everyone too!!! I’m so sorry your Mom is still suffering from that bite but let’s hope soon she’ll be back to feeling chipper again.

Extra super quiet around here because everBODY left! We have Harleys putter down our road all the time. One at a time, here and there. You look very good on that bike Sammy! We have a graduation open house to go to across the road today(Saturday)but it is raining. I hope for the grad it stops raining so he can have a nice day! Cheeseburgers!

This time of the year is a bit of a bummer for us too Sammy. All the Harleys like to head out of town past our house starting about 6am and come back as late as 2am. It gets rather noisy and cuts down on the amount of time mom keeps the windows open for us.

Well yesterday was noisy but THIS MORNING ought to be ear-splitting as the cycles head on into DC to begin the next two days of Memorial Day activities down there. Sigh. The biggest bummer of all is that our next door neighbor’s kid just got a Harley. AND HE LIKES TO TUNE UP THE ENGINE EVERY FIVE MINUTES!!!!!! 😦
