Bacon First, Monster Second

Celebrating Bacon and Saturday and Vet Visit DONE!

Morning!   Well, because yesterday was vet day, Mom and Dad said they’d forego the weekly housecleaning exercise complete with closet monster and do it today instead.  That was so I could have a CALM morning before going to the vet and a CALM afternoon recovering from the vet.  It worked – I had nap after nap after nap and feel much better this morning.

So I don’t know what my blood work will show – I’ll find that out either this afternoon or Monday – but here’s what my doc said otherwise.

1.  I’ve lost eleven ounces over the past four months since my last visit.  I weighed 12 lb. 11 ounces in November and I now weigh 12 lbs.   A year ago I weighed 14 lbs.   So I’ve lost a couple of pounds since I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism.   Doc wasn’t concerned at this point so Mom says she won’t be either (but I bet she tries to get me to eat more!!).

2.  Temperature was normal, kidneys felt good, thyroid gland good, teeth good, heart murmur unchanged (which is a GOOD thing as heart issues can develop with hyperthyroidism and I already HAD the murmur), and other than one comment he made which was (ahem….this is a delicate subject, but……) that I was “full of poop”.    Mom told him I had been kidnapped from the house to go to the vet this morning before I’d done my thing.   Hey – what can I say?

3.  For a guy my age, I look GREAT (his words).

4.  I’ve got the vet techs in the office wrapped around my paw – they almost fight over who gets to pet me, hug me, talk to me.  Tee Hee – I’m such a little devil.   The doc said I’m their “favorite cat” (I wonder if he tells that to everyone else too?!).

THANK YOU for all the sweet comments, good wishes, paw pats, gentle meows, and love that you all sent to me the past couple of days when I first said I was on my way to the doctor for my 4 months checkup.   The one problem that I still have is that I refuse to take my medication from time to time.   Depending on my blood results this may or may not be a problem – we’ll see.   He wants me to have the whole pill every day but honestly sometimes I just do NOT want it.  My poor Mom tries everything……..the doc gave Mom some other ideas what to try and we’ll be doing that, AND I promised Mom I’d try to be better about cooperating.

Now – let’s move on to what today is REALLY all about around here – BACON!    “Mom – I’ve finished my blog – can I have my bacon now?????   PURRRRRLEASE” ??????????
