Thursday With Elfvis

Standard

Well my friends, I’m happy to report that the past couple of days, Elfvis has settled in here and actually has managed to NOT get into trouble.   He MIGHT have overstepped a bit in one instance, but not to the point anyone really got upset………….I’ll explain.

This morning after making our bed up in the master bedroom, Mom went about making breakfast and getting ready to decorate the house for Christmas……………after a couple of hours she and I came back upstairs and saw THIS:

.....ZZZZZZZZ......

…..ZZZZZZZZ……

Not so bad…….Elfvis had crawled up on the bed and made himself comfy and we figured as long as he was THERE he wouldn’t get into trouble.  I could hear him snoring like a foghorn but since my Dad does that every night, I’m used to it – know what I mean?

Then later on while Mom was busy,  I checked again and he wasn’t up on the bed…….he had even nicely folded the mini-afghan he’d used and it was at the foot of the bed (like he intended to use it again maybe!).    I searched for him and found him in the guest room on the bed in there with his new best friend – a little cat stuffie that had been on the bedside table.   They were chatting (or maybe plotting who knows!) and stayed in there whispering for hours.   Of course now I’m on “HIGH ALERT” because all that whispering just couldn’t have been GOOD.

Elfvis: "smile and look innocent for the camera!" Cat: "But I AM innocent!"

Elfvis: “smile and look innocent for the camera!”
Cat: “But I AM innocent!”

The house is now decorated for Christmas so there’s even MORE stuff for Elfvis to get into – not just the decorations but the tree, the presents under the tree……….it’s just a little nerve-racking wondering where he is and what he’s doing ALL THE TIME………but I haven’t heard anything crash to the floor, I haven’t seen things being moved from one room to the other, and most importantly, MY bacon stash has NOT been touched!

I've got my EYE on Elfvis!

I’ve got my EYE on Elfvis!

Elves might look innocent but you can’t trust ’em……nope…….sooner or later he’ll get up to something – I can feel it in my bones!

  2. Keep an eye on your stocking, S. If you see his little elf-feet sticking out – that’s trouble! Let me know if you need me to come and rip his head off. It’ll only take a minute.

    • Thanks Cupcake! Believe me – I know you’re the woman for the job should he need his head ripped off. I am trying to keep a VERY CLOSE eye on Elfvis but it’s tough to nap and keep an eye on him at the same time!!!

  3. Well, Sammy, you’ve probably heard by now that we ALSO have one of those little elfin creatures at OUR house too!!!! Are they trying to drive us poor kitties crazy???? I think I let him know last night who’s the boss around here…..but now I have to really be good: you know he reports to Santa, right????

    • Hi Sundae…..yes I knew you had an evil elf at your house now and I do hope he understands it’s YOUR house and not HIS! I’ve told Elfvis as long as he keeps his mouth shut and doesn’t report anything I do to Santa Paws, I’ll let him LIVE. HAHAHAHA

    • I’ve had some volunteers for that job – it probably would be safer to just put everyone out of their misery but I kinda like the challenge of WATCHING him sweat with me keeping a close eye on him! Tee Hee

    • Oh believe me I am keeping a VERY close eye on him…….after seeing what kind of damage Bacon’s elf Don Juan does at HIS house after Thanksgiving until Christmas, I was forewarned so my eyes are WIDE OPEN on Elfvis!

    • You’re right……..and I’m being EXTRA careful around him. I’m afraid he’ll do something horrid and blame me! My only saving grace with that is that my Mom knows I’ve never EVER done anything bad before……..I have an unblemished record for the past 14 years!!!

  4. Keep a very close eye on that mischievous little elf – our grandbipeds Elfie is always up to some sort of trickery.

    • Trickery is an elf’s middle name…….believe me I’m keeping a very close eye on my Elfvis – he’s already proven he can LOOK innocent enough while wreaking havoc around the house!

  5. We’d keep an eye on the Christmas tree. We have heard that elves like to climb into them and toss ornaments to the floor just to watch them break. So watch carefully where you walk. We are certain Elfvis is up to planning some naughty stuff. Ho, ho, ho, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  6. Dear suspicious Sammy! Hang in there, if I know Elves (and I do), it’s just a matter of time. Kind of fun to play detective though, hiding round corners, peeking around, sleeping with one eye open. Soooooo, daddy snores hey? LOL so do I xox B

    • You do know all about elves don’t you!! Well, Elfvis has been quiet lately which makes be wonder what he’s planning. If an elf is QUIET, I think you have to be on guard! My Dad snores AND my Mom snores but you didn’t hear that from me!
