Arrrrgh! Pirate Pawty!

Ahoy there mateys…….’tis the day of Speedy Rabbit’s fabulous Pirate Day Pawty and I’m here to celebrate along with the rest of you!!!  If you’re from planet Mars and didn’t know about the party, well you COULD read this post with the details and know that the deadline for entries is until Sunday so it’s not too late to join in the fun!!!!!    Today’s post is part of Speedy’s blog hop so make sure and take a peekie at EVERYBODY’s pirate pix by following the link at the end of my post today.  The actual competition will be held on September 19th BUT we’re having some fun today too.

SO DO I LOOK LIKE A SWASHBUCKLER??? 

As if that wasn’t enough excitement for a middle aged guy like me, I was honored (yes I said honored) by my buddy King Spitty when he granted me Viceroyship over one of his territories in sunny California.  That’s right – you’re talking to a Viceroy.  I’m shopping now for an appropriate costume at my local Viceroy Costumery because a Viceroy kind of guy needs to look – well – sophisticated when the King visits.  King Spitty is still working on assigning territories but so far, the territorial map looks like this:

You can see my territory outlined in red on the East side – Potrero Hill !!  I’m right above Cathy Keisha (she’s got my back).   We’re in negotiation for a mutually satisfactory relationship right now.  You know – Viceroy to Viceroyette kind of stuff.  Anyway, I’ll talk more about this next week when I get my outfit purchased but I just was so excited I wanted you to know.

  2. Concats on your Viceroyship. We are the Viceroys of Treasure Island (where our humans were married 40 years ago). You make a great pirate.     • Treasure Island sounds like a totally COOL place to have a Viceroyship – especially just in time for Speedy’s Pirate PAWTY! What a way cool spot on the planet for a wedding though – “Treasure Island” sounds ever so romantic. My Mom says she’d like to visit that one day just to say she’d been there!!! 😀 😀

      • Hi Sam, Though my mommy is not as talented creatively as yours, I asked her if I could be a pirate ’cause as the “Old Lady” I never get to do anything fun.         • Hi Lily! I lUV your tattoo (of course) – I’ve never had a girl tattoo my name on her before so I’m QUITE flattered! Mom says if my head swells any more my pirate hat won’t fit! HAHAHA I’m glad your Mom piratized you because I think you look fabulous and even though you say you’re grumpy I think you just need some “extra attention” – nothing bad about that! I’m that way too really….good thing I don’t have to compete with a bazillion other cats in my house for attention!!!

          I’ll be visiting tomorrow to see what’s going on for the BIG BIRTHDAY PAWTY on Tuesday……meanwhile, I’m gonna be putting a couple of pix on my bloggy about friends I hung out with at Speedy’s pawty – you and Nylablue to be specific about it!

    • Hi Miss Layla! I was happy to be appointed to a Viceroyship by Spitty but it means of course commuting from Virginia to California just to check on things. I’ll probably have to bring aboard some “assistant Viceroys” to help me defend the territory there on behalf of King Spitty. If your boys are interested, let me know (tee hee).

  4. Ahoyooowooooo! Sammy, me and Nalle and sisfur Swami Zoe live right smack in the middle of San Francisco. There seems to be a star on the map on top of our home! We need to King Spitty to turn territory back to us! Wooo!

    • Well Ku, King Spitty just assigned me Potrero Hill without knowing that you and your family were already RIGHT THERE and ready to defend the territory already!! I’m sure he would have happily given you the area there had he known….he is a very “user-friendly” King after all. I’m willing to back off and let King Spitty assign some other area to me OR would be perfectly happy having you on my defense team. There’s no need to feel like I’ve invaded – after all, I haven’t even built a fort there yet!!!! I’m still shopping for an appropriate Viceroy-ish outfit in fact….there aren’t a lot of shops that sell that sort of gear around here.

      • Whew-woooowoooo! We will band together! You can keep Potrero Hill, and we will assist you from invaders. Our home is in the middle under the star. Is that where King Spitty has taken stake? We may have to share the rulership. Arrrrghwoooooo, Capt’n KuBear (Speedy made me Capt’n!) 🙂

        • Wow! Capt’n Ku? Has a nice ring to it. I’m glad you’re located in the territory King Spitty assigned to me – I know that should we feel threatened from marauders you will assist in defending the terrain. I’m not exactly sure where King Spitty has his castle precisely but I do know that he’s a kind and caring ruler. I’m proud to defend my chunk of the realm.

          • OMC!!! I’m in trouble now!!! Yes, I guess I kind of did know that Swami Zoe et. al. lived in My Fair City, but I did not know where. Well, thankfully it seems you kids have worked that all out amongst yourselves. Please do not start thinking about a coup or anything though, okay? Cause it’s really tough when your Viceroys start turning on you.

          • Never fear my King….there will be no coup from my territory – we will be loyal to a fault (Mom says there are some fault lines in California so I guess being loyal to a fault sounds a bit funny). Ku and Company have been quite kind to offer assistance should it be needed AND have pointed out some great locations for my Viceroy Camp/Fort.

    • Uhoh C.K., we can’t have Tuna burnin’ down da hood – you know how those California fires take hold and spread like crazy and I doubt King Spitty would like his kingdom burning down just as he’s getting it properly defended! Good plan to remove the torch from his paws……I’ve only barely been appointed and already have heard from some occupants of my territory that they feel like I’m invading “their” hood. Good grief….a Viceroy can’t even get settled in before the occupants threaten an uprising! I’ve offered the flag of peace to them – gosh – who knew this Viceroy thing would turn into a land grab?!!!!

        • Thanks a bunch for the support – I should imagine Spitty will be assigning that territory to the west soon – he’s making great strides doling out the Viceroyships lately. Thanks for the offer of help with my territorial occupants. I think we’ve come to an agreement of sorts – they’ve volunteered to help defend should the need arise AND have suggested a good location for my Viceroy fort. I searched the yellow pages and found a Viceroy Outfitters in town so my next project is to get fitted for something suitable to wear when King Spitty visits. Heaven forbid he should catch me lying around in my underwear…know what I mean???

  17. Sammy I am glad that you acknowledged that the ACTUAL DAY is Thursday…thanks! We couldn’t pawticipate today due to the highest of Jewish Holidays, (Yom Kippur) Mom has 12 people coming to dinner and she hasn’t been online all day til now. She just wanted to say hi! Love, Cody

I know today is Yom Kippur and I hope you all had a good day – I’ll remind everyone that Pirate Day is the 19th – I guess Speedy was anxious to have a pawty for some reason?!     • Hi Austin!!! Well, I don’t think uniforms are required but I figure this might be my only chance to be a Viceroy EVER so why not go crazy and get something Viceroy-ish to wear right???? I’m still looking. Who knew there wasn’t a special Viceroy costumery store in Virginia?! Yeah, I’m pretty happy to know that CK is keeping an eye on the “hood” for me so at least I don’t have to worry about THAT! Glad you sent your Mini-Me to Speedy’s pawty. Perhaps on the ACTUAL Pirate Day (the 19th) you’ll be able to come IN PURRRRSON??!!

    • I agree Miss Pix. Imagine my consternation when my pirate crew turned up with that dinky little sailboat instead of a manly pirate ship like I asked them to get for us. Well, needless to say we hitchhiked to that pirate party yesterday rather than embarrass ourselves in that wienie sailboat! Everyone else there had big old scary pirate ships….sniff sniff…..
