Teaser Tell All

Tellin’ It Like It Is…..

It’s time for me to tell you about that photo yesterday for our Teaser.   First of all I wasn’t fibbing when I said I didn’t know for sure when my Mom’s Dad took the photo…………..Mom says it HAD to be in the early 1940s though.   It was pretty neat having an OLD photo as a Teaser wasn’t it?   We thought it would fool everyone to tell you the truth BUT we didn’t!   No we DID NOT fool each and every one of you and you’ll find out SOON the scoop on that!

Meanwhile, here’s that photo again………………..

My Grandad took that photo in Venice on the Via Garibaldi…………………..!    My FIRST RIGHT GUESSER guessed that EXACTLY.    I actually found a photo of this same area taken WELL after my Dad’s and it looks much the same.   My parents were in Venice on their honeymoon in 1990 and Mom says that whole area down by the water was loaded with T-shirt and hat vendors and people giving away tickets on boats taking tourists over to Murano to the glass factories.    It was WAY more crowded than in this photo – OR my Grandad’s photo.

(not my Mom’s photo – I found this on Google!)

So, who was the FIRST RIGHT GUESSER?    It was my buddy Raz from Friends Furever and this is NOT the first time he’s been a First Right Guesser either so watch out Leo and Easy!   Tee Hee

Here’s your FIRST RIGHT GUESSER badge Raz:

HOWEVER – that’s not the only badge my pal Raz is getting this week – because he not only was FIRST RIGHT GUESSER, but he and my friend Easy the Wild Weimaraner TIED (exactly the same time) for the FIRST COMMENTER on the Teaser!   That’s right – a TIE!    Both of you get this:

There actually were a couple of you who ALSO guessed Venice……….BRAVO for you!   You get this:

And I know there’s a long line of you just waiting for your next BIG GREENIE (or maybe your FIRST Big Greenie???) – so here you are!

That was a fun one…………thanks to everyone who popped in to guess yesterday – I wondered if anyone would recognize the buildings as they DO look the same as they did in the 1940s for the most part……..and off to the FAR right on the old black/white photo you can see a tiny bit of water…….!!

CONGRATULATIONS WINNERS (yes this includes you winners of the Big Greenie!).

Hugs, Sammy

Teaser Tell-All

Howdy Everybody!  Happy Wednesday which – as you know – is Tell All Day around here……………….yesterday you spent trying to figure the photo out and today I’m here to tell you who was right, who was wrong AND who guessed it FIRST!

Here’s the photo one more time (I love this photo!!!):

This photo was taken on one of the few actual streets in Venice, Italy!   As you know, no cars allowed there but there are a few little streets – this is one of them.   The person who guessed it right FIRST has been ON THIS STREET before so recognized it.  WOW…….who was that you might ask?????   Why it was Leo of WALK TO RIO 2016 blog!!!   It’s true that someone else (Mollie to be exact!) guessed “Italy” first but she didn’t say the town – only the country – but a WHOLE LOT of you only guessed the country………I’ve decided from now on, those who guess just one part of the answer (only the country, or only the city) will get the “HONORABLE MENTION” badge…………………so, in accordance with that new policy, here are today’s awards!!

FIRST RIGHT GUESSER (Leo), gets this!

EVERYONE ELSE WHO GUESSED VENICE, ITALY (and there were more of you who did!!), gets this!

I’m starting to get some photos of those who want Jeeves to introduce you formally at my “do” on Saturday…………gosh everyone looks so incredibly different in tuxedos or gowns!  We’re all used to seeing each other NEKKID, and all dressed up – well – we sure do look different don’t we?   Remember, today is Wednesday so just today, tomorrow and until noon Friday to get your photos to me IF (and only IF) you want to have a “grand entrance”……….everyone else, you’re all invited even if you aren’t all dressed up – just come and celebrate with me OK??????   You can just walk right by Jeeves the butler and slide down the bannister if you want to!    Sundae – my girlcatfriend and date for the evening – and I will try to catch you at the bottom of the bannister (I said TRY).

I’ll see you all tomorrow………….meanwhile have a Springy day – we sure are enjoying some nice weather.  Spring has sprung (and hopefully is STAYING sprung).

TEASERGLOBE   Like the Teaser Globe I did with Tagxedo.com????

Teaser Tell All and Go Fishing!

Hi Everybody!  I really thought I had you all stumped yesterday with my Teaser photo.  Some of you had OTHER ideas though and sure enough, two of you guessed it EXACTLY…..and several of you had the right country where the photo had been taken.

A little background…..my parents were on the SECOND stop of their honeymoon trip way back in 1990.  They had Eurail passes that would take them across Europe and while they started out in Rome, Italy, their SECOND stop was in Venice!

This was one of several photos my parents took while cruising through the “Piazza San Marco” – or, as my Dad called it after they’d been there about an hour – “Pigeon Poop Piazza” because of the zillions of pigeons flying around there.  They sold bags of seed for the pigeons so you could feed them and have your photo taken but do we have to tell you how many people who DID that wound up covered in pigeon poop???? Needless to say my parents didn’t go that route, but they did stop here in the piazza for an espresso and to people watch.

Two of you got the EXACT location where the photo was taken (woo hoo) and three of you guessed the right country (also woo hoo).

Concatulations to:

Zena of The Princess Tails  (guessed EXACTLY!)

Easy of Easy Weimaraner  (also guessed EXACTLY!)

Mollie of Mollie’s Dog Treats

The Guinea Pig Boys of Hutch A Good Life

Cody of CAT CHAT

Here’s your winning hug everybody!

…….Big Sammy Hug !…….

Now, on to the “fishing” part of my blog!  My Mom’s very super good friend Trish Terrell, the author, just started a second blog all about her fabulous hobby of raising angelfish!  That’s right – they are beautiful fish and she’s got lots of aquariums in her house where she raises them from eggs to babies to big fish.  She also has four doggies who are all rescues and I think she’ll mention them in coming blogs but mainly this blog is about her fish.   Miss Trish writes really good thriller/suspense novels and my Mom (and thousands of other fans) have read them and love them all – but in one of her more recent books called “Vicki’s Key”, the main character who is a CIA agent, is involved in raising angelfish.

They really are beautiful fish too – I didn’t know what one looked like until Miss Trish started this hobby and I have to admit, I wouldn’t mind having a big tank full of these babies all to myself (I hear you giggling – you think I’d be dipping my paw in there to grab one and eat it don’t you?!?!?!)…….WHO ME????????????  Well, anyway, I’m giving you the link to Miss Trish’s blog about her fishies just in case you’d like to take a peek and hear about them.  The original group of fish were named after Fleetwood Mac (which happens to be one of my Mom’s all-time fave groups) – and the names Miss Trish gave her fish are kinda cute…….

Click HERE to visit Vicki’s Angelfish and check it out – and if you’re a reader of suspense thrillers – you might want to visit Miss Trish’s website too……the link is on her blog.

Sammy looking soft and sweet (asleep!)

How could this sweet innocent kitty PAWSIBLY be interested in grabbing a fish out of a tank! Shame on you for thinking such thoughts!…….Tee Hee…….

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!!  See you here again tomorrow….

Kitty Hugs, Sammy 😀 😀 😀
