Oh boy………………talk about taking my life in my hands – having the cleaners in on Fridays definitely is doing just that when they are two bulldogs who are bossy and want me to stay out of the way!

Needless to say I do stay out of the way……………….sometimes on the stairs……….sometimes in the guest room……..sometimes in Mom’s room…………even the basement.

Vacuum can’t reach up here!!

I’m SAFE!!!!!

Mom wants very much to do some cleaning OUTSIDE – which means “mow the lawn” – but with all the rain we’ve had – every single day – she can’t mow………………so we’re hoping at least for a few hours this weekend the sun will manage to break through the rain clouds and let Mom mow at last.

I did have to SHOOOO a few dust bunnies out from under the guest room bed though before I could move in there for a snoozie……….

I hope you enjoyed seeing our so-called “gardens” in the slideshow yesterday…….the plants are just teeny weeny right now but before you know it they’ll look like something I betcha!   Stay tuned because I plan to update from time to time.    Meanwhile, Mom was looking at some ideas for a new planter to put on our front porch.   Something artsy-fartsy and different…..there are some thrift shops around here and they might have something we can use – aren’t these cool ideas?

Well I hear Mrs. Broomhilda yelling at Mr. Broomhilda to bring the vacuum and stuff UPSTAIRS so now it’s time for me to move DOWNSTAIRS……………wish me luck!

Rainy Day Snooze

Yesterday was a GRAY day…………..various shades of gray too – it ALMOST seemed as if the sun might break through because it got LIGHT GRAY……….then five minutes later it was DARK GRAY and raining cats and dogs……….well not literally – imagine what a mess that would be!

EEEEK!

It was a little bit freaky because the first forcast said SEVERE weather but we didn’t get anything SEVERE – just WET.    I was happy about that…………….it didn’t disturb my napping patterns at all.   I hardly noticed in fact.   Except when I whined to go outside and was LET out on the front porch only to see RAIN………I am not a fan of rain.   Neither is this guy.

 

So I stayed inside for the most part, doing what I do best…………………and we ALL know what THAT is right?

Relaxin’

As if you haven’t seen enough snoozer photos of me to fill 87 albums!!!   Some of these are newer and some are older…………….the older ones I was a chub – now I’m slim and trim and downright bony but that’s OK…..as long as I’m putting one foot in front of the other Mom says I’m just FINE!

To top off a WET day, we actually had tornado warnings last evening just about dinner time………..we waited and watched but thankfully they didn’t hit our town – in fact, while there were some pockets of possible tornadic wind activity, not sure there was one that touched the ground anywhere near us.  But we were “EYES TO THE SKY” and listening to the weather radio, you can bet on it!

Anyway, we are hoping that tomorrow we’ll get a bit of a break from rain……….our ground is now saturated between the heavy snows we had which are melted now and the rain and people are afraid if we get wind, the BIG TREES will come down.   We hope not – we have a lot of big trees around our house.   I do NOT want to be like this guy!

So I’ll just keep on snoozing and hoping Chicken Little is WRONG………..I like my sky right where it is thank you very much!

Thursday Stuff

Gosh…………it isn’t right that we’re not even AT Christmas and my Mom is already so danged busy that I’m not getting suitable lap time.   This is just wrong.  What’s with that………she’s running around like a chicken with its’ head cut off (gosh that’s an ugly sight!) running errands, doing Cat Scouts stuff until it’s coming out her ears, working on Christmas cards and getting NOWHERE fast, trying to get some shopping done but finding there’s no time AND she hasn’t even started decorating the house yet (which is bound to be noisy).

Yeah….I’m grumpy!

Sigh………..what’s a guy to do?   I follow her around wherever she goes waiting for her to land so I can pop up on her lap but she never lands.  If she DOES land, it’s in her room upstairs and she’s ATTACHED to her computer doing something………..I don’t go upstairs any more – too tough on my old legs – Mom will carry me up there but I immediately come back down.    Those of you who have known me a while remember when I was constantly camped out in Mom’s office under my afghan tent……those were the days right?  Mom wishes I would do that again but I have ZERO interest in that anymore.  I’ve moved on…………now that I’m old I am TOTALLY devoted to the living room or basement – period.   That’s why I have been known to stand at the bottom of the stairs and SCREAM for Mom to come down immediately if not sooner!   I thought I was running this household?!?!?!?!

MA MA MA MA MA – Come down, down, down, down!

Mom says EVERYBODY is busy this time of year………yeah I know but I don’t care about “everybody” – I just care about HER!    Besides, we’re on Day Three of rain, rain and more rain and I haven’t been able to enjoy my yard AT ALL.   This morning before it got really rainy and Mom and I went out for my first walk (4AM) it was so foggy I couldn’t see my Mom and she was on the other end of my leash about four feet away from me!   Fog and mist…….and COLD……so it was a quickie walk.  Then the fog got WORSE later and then it rained and rained some more.   It was a thoroughly disgusting day.

I’m BORED!

Today is supposed to be nicer……….maybe I can at least go outside and enjoy the yard a bit………….MAYBE.

Happy Friday

We are happy here at my house……why?  Well because Mom has her computer back all fixed up (that means I can visit with you!) and Dad has his beloved Blazer back and his wallet is aching due to the $900 spent fixing it, and the refrigerator is full of bacon so I’m obviously happy – see?  We’re ALL happy!

I have to say that Mom did go just a little but nutso yesterday because she couldn’t get online.  Sad isn’t it?  Everyone is hooked on computerizing!   Well, such is the way of the world.  If not for the computer I wouldn’t have my blog, and if not for my blog you would be UNAWARE that there’s a ginger, polydactyl kitty in Virginia who loves bacon and teases the heck out of everyone on Tuesdays!

Tomorrow we’ll celebrate around here – because everything didn’t get back from repair shops until late in the day so we couldn’t celebrate last night.   There will be EXTRA bacon Mom says.  EXTRA…….I do like that word!

I spent yesterday sleeping – following the sun puddles – we had rain for so many days I’ve been enjoying the last few when we’ve had sun – just in time for there to be rain later today but yesterday was FAB.   I started enjoying it when the sun made it over the trees………

Love it!

I continued moving from dining room to library to upstairs guest room to hallway to stairs………..wherever Mr. Sun went, I followed…………

I guess I can put up with a little bit of rain since we did have three or so days of sun right?  “Into each life a little rain must fall” !

I’m already working on next week’s Teaser………….you know I like to have them lined up so I’m not staying up late on a Monday night trying to find something to TEASE you properly.   I have FOUR candidates for next Tuesday – FOUR!   I could do the “eeny meeny miney mo” thing to pick one but instead I’ll try to get the one I think will give you the MOST challenge.   You DO like a challenge right?   Right?

Until tomorrow – when the BACON shall flow freely – I’ll see you then!

Mushy Monday

YUCK!

Indeed it’s mushy Monday – we have more rain than we need so the ground is totally mushy and muddy and icky and Mom has been washing my tootsies when we get back inside from a rainy walk!   Puddles EVERYWHERE………which has one UPSIDE which is more worms!   I don’t eat them mind you, I just poke at them with my paw…….the ones that are alive (some of them drown themselves I think) kind of squiggle and wiggle and I think that’s just plain FUN.

Anyway, today is Pre-Teaser Monday in addition to being mushy outside so I do hope you’re ready for tomorrow?   You will NOT NOT NOT be getting two days to study the photo this week though – oh no – Mom and Dad are NOT going away so as usual, tomorrow morning you’ll get to see the photo – keep staring at it all day if you wish – but Wednesday morning we will be handing out badges to those who have SHARP EYES and a knowledge of geography!  Yep that’s right!   This one is NOT a Guest Teaser either…………….so there!

We may actually see some sunshine this week…………….Joaquin is gone except for some rain showers………we have forgotten what blue skies look like though so we’re going to be glad to see that……….Mom says she’ll have to wear sunglasses for DAYS to get used to all that light since we’ve been in the shadows and under the storm clouds for so long.   Not me – I’ve enjoyed the fires in the fireplace and the cozy blankies and laps but I guess it WOULD be nice to stroll through the yard without getting my paws dirty.   I don’t like those “foot baths” !!!

Not for me thank you!
