It’s that time again!
Get out the monster machine
and clean the house time!
As if it weren’t enough of an insult to the ears having that vacuum monster machine here, there and everywhere we now have BROOMhilda wielding a wicked duster and broom so there truly is NO PEACE on a Friday around my abode.
Does this guy REALLY wanna know how it makes me feel???
This pretty well sums it up!
I made an effort not to cause any extra time needed for cleaning the house today – I did NOT toss toys indiscriminately under furniture so there would be no moving of chairs and the sofa to rescue victims of me playing with my toys:
Nope- you don’t HAVE to move it this week!
I even performed a little “re-con” mission around the place looking for any dust bunnies that I could go ahead and eliminate prior to the CLEAN-A-THON……..
Here bunny – come out wherever you are!!
So I really did try to make it a SHORT cleaning operation today……………………but in spite of all my effort, there was not only cleaning but laundry being done………so I got VERY LITTLE REST. I’m exhausted. Pooped. In dire need of napping.
Don’t I look PITIFUL?
Well, I will make up for lack of rest tomorrow…………it’s also bacon Caturday so that will also soothe my aching head and ears and tummy. I’ll be happy…..again……….at least for another week. Then we’ll have this little discussion AND this little “whine-o-blog” from me again next Friday. There are some things you can count on in life – – – –
- I’ll discuss bacon on Saturdays (and maybe Fridays before Bacon Saturdays)
- I’ll complain about cleaning day
- I’ll need lots of sympathy from my friends
Is that OK with you?
Whoops – before I forget……
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MO!
What would we do without Mo keeping the Cat Blogosphere chugging along!
Hope it’s a super special birthday!
Hello! I’m telepathically sending Mom today’s blog from the confines of our basement. Mom’s up on the top floor at the computer and I’m transmitting my thoughts – some of which require EDITING because there may be some questionable language. What’s going on you might ask? WELL, I haven’t been exiled to the basement for being naughty. Instead we have a major de-construction of our kitchen floor going on – it will eventually (please make it quick) be hardwood flooring instead of the linoleum which my parents thought looked “oh so swell” when they built the house 20 years ago. The hardwood is going to look SPECTACULAR but the sooner the better I say. You would not believe the noise this whole process is making!!!!! WOWZERS! It’s a good thing that I’m partially deaf.
Here’s the “before” floor:
So when it’s all done I’ll take photos of what it looks like with the hardwood. I’m sure it will look less like a 50s café with the hardwood! HAHAHA Mom and Dad have been upstairs in Mom’s studio together where it’s not as noisy BUT I was the one who wanted to be in the basement while this work is being done. Because it’s an unfinished basement, it’s like unbelievably noisy down there……..like a big echo chamber. I’m UNDER THE COUCH down there………Mom talked me into coming out for a pet and a litterbox trip and some foodables and water but then I scooted back UNDER the couch.
Hopefully these guys will finish up today’s work at 5PM or so and get out of MY house! They will be back tomorrow though and finish up Friday. What’s a guy to do? I’m just being patient. As long as Mom and Dad come down and reassure me once in a while I’ll be fine………..honest I will………….
My parents are nuts………no sooner do things settle down after they had new kitchen lights put in than they begin ripping up the floor!!! Humans are SO tough to figure out! Sometimes I wonder WHAT is going on in their heads don’t you????
I’ll probably be dictating my blog to Mom remotely tomorrow too…….SIGH
Hugs, Sam Who Is Hiding Out
Friday………….monster day…………and not just monster day but also “guys coming to clean the gutters day”……..which is the noisiest? Time will tell! Meanwhile I’m resolved to be fearless……fearless in the face of noise and destruction (well, alright so that’s a little bit dramatic but there will be noise!).
The gutter guys have actually been here several years in a row and they’re so fast we hardly know they’ve done their thing. There’s a crew of like three guys – they hook up their hoses, put up their extension ladders, climb up on the roof with their leaf blowing machines – blow off all the leaves, use the hoses to wash out the gutters, pop back down, rake up all the leaves they blew off the roof and out of the gutters and are GONE in about 15 minutes. Amazing huh? They know what they’re doing. My favorite spot to watch the operation is up in my Mom’s studio because there’s a skylight. When the guy comes by the skylight with the blower and the hose I can watch him and I’ve learned I’m safe. Maybe it’s noisy but I’m safe………..kinda like the vacuum cleaner/monster. I know Mom isn’t gonna suck me up in that thing – but the racket is almost unbearable on my tender ears!
We have a lot of gutters for the guys to clear out….(old photo of my house from Spring)
Mom says she MIGHT get Dad to bring the tree up from the basement today – that would be fun………………I love when they start unpacking all the ornaments…..I like to give stuff a poke, sit in the boxtops and watch, and then – my FAVORITE moment – the tree’s up and I can get UNDER it and nap.
I’ll sit quietly nearby and watch the tree going up!
They say we MIGHT get a dusting of snow or a bit of sleet this Sunday. Will I mind? Nope. I’ll be inside by the fire or in Mom’s lap burping away from my Sunday morning bacon breakfast.
Oh – I also completed another little project – this one was to help Santa Paws – you know – just making sure he knows what he needs to know on Christmas Eve !!! What do you think?????
Know what? I really AM “one spoiled cat” aren’t I ??!! Guess I named my blog the right thing……………..
Jingle Bell Sammy !
A “Baby Me” as Santa!
