Pre-Tease Labor Day Monday

WOW – that’s a mouthful!   Today is our Labor Day celebration day………..everybody is off work (although my Mom and Dad are off work every day since they’re retired!)……….and the only thing on THEIR calendar today is a birthday party next door.   One of our neighbors kids – that will be fun (and noisy?!).

I love parties!!!!!!!

Today is the day we begin ramping up our thinking about “where in the world will the Teaser photo be taken from on tomorrow’s Teaser blog?!”……………….well, it can never be as tough as last week’s was so that should be encouraging for you!    It’s not going to be a Guest Teaser either which ALSO might be encouraging…………….SO, just make sure you keep yourself alert for the Teaser post when it arrives – you already know it can be at ANY time……..it will sneak up on you and say……..

Boooooo!

Then the fun will begin as everyone guesses their best……………AND people clamor for the fabulous honor of being the FIRST COMMENTER!   We’ve had TIES lately so who knows what will happen tomorrow?   Can we beat a TRIPLE TIE?   Now that would be interesting!  A QUAD TIE???!!

Meanwhile, I hope those of you celebrating today in a Labor Day fashion have a wonderful time……………….Make sure you get to bed nice and early tonight though so you’ll be ALERT in the morning OK?  OK!

No Labor For Me!

Happy Labor Day!   I know not everyone is celebrating this holiday but WE are,

so I thought you’d like to see how I plan to LABOR day…….NOT………

Should I just spend the day here? Yeah…..why not!

Actually I will be (virtually) at a Cat Scouts Labor Day pot luck today – all day –

but actually my parents will be visiting the neighbors for a cookout.  So

when I’m not pawtying with the Scouts, I’ll be on the couch snoozing. 

You betcha. 

That’s as LABORSOME as my Labor Day is gonna be!  

Lots of people here are celebrating the fact that since it’s Labor Day,

they don’t HAVE to actually LABOR

(unless you consider all the cookouts and picnics

that will be happening as LABOR)!!

Labor Day

Hi Peeps! 

Labor Day – another excuse for Mom to put the flag banner on the front porch railing! HAPPY LABOR DAY…………….

Today is Labor Day……..all the humans who usually dread going back to work after the weekend have an extra day today to recover from their weekend of watching sports on TV and overeating  household chores. 

I don’t think there will be a lot of laboring going on at my house today.  I know there wasn’t any laboring happening Saturday or Sunday either.  In fact, since my parents retired, there’s not much laboring EVER.  But they worked hard for years and years to be able to retire so they deserve not to have to labor.   My parents labored hard enough in fact that they were able to retire before what used to be the “traditional” age of retirement here, which is 65.  Their hard labor paid off.

Mom looked up Labor Day and what is REALLY is all about and this is what she found:

Observed on the first Monday in September, Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894. Labor Day also symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans, and is celebrated with parties, parades and athletic events.

Well we’re not having any parties today (although the neighbors are planning a cookout if it doesn’t rain), and there will be a parade of deer through our yard but not because of the holiday, and as for athletic events, unless you count Mom carrying the laundry basket up and down the stairs a couple of times an athletic event – well – there won’t be any of those either!

So for Labor Day at my house, there will be no labor going on to speak of……….I certainly won’t be laboring – that’s for sure! 

“Laboring” the day away with naps!
