SPARK on Monday

Standard

What? It’s MONDAY again? Already? Time is so messed up – don’t you think??    Well let’s just grab it by the horns and start a great week for ourselves shall we?   We’ll start with a SPARK – for ourselves and to share.     This was Annie of McGuffy’s Reader’s thought when she started the Monday SPARKS posts before her blog was hacked some time ago.    She is working on coming back but until she can we are carrying on the “Monday SPARKS” tradition.     It feels good to be a light at the first of the week!

I have a wonderful quote that is from Maya Angelou who has said more incredible things more eloquently in her life than anyone I know.    Almost every quote of hers I identify with it.     I’ve known this quote for YEARS and every time I read it – I get a tear in my eye – really.

It wouldn’t surprise me if I’d actually used this as my SPARK before but I didn’t find it in my SPARKS file.    I truly love it.    I hope it speaks to you too.     I have known a lot of people who quite obviously don’t give a darn HOW they make other people feel – I try to avoid them like the plague.

Have a special and positive week – we’ll get together again next Monday and put some SPARKS in the air OK?

Hugs and Smiles, Pam

SPARK and Reminder

Hello Monday again!   Time to SPARK………………What exactly IS this Monday SPARK thing we do?   Well, most of you know that Annie of McGuffy’s Reader – who started SPARKS – was hacked and has been on an extended break from blogging although her idea to spread some inspiration on Monday of every week goes on.   Many of us who participated in her SPARKS Blog Hop and found value in sharing a thought on Monday continue doing that to hopefully give each other a “Monday boost” – perhaps something to think about to inspire us in the week ahead OR help us deal with something that’s on our mind.    Why not join us by sharing something that SPARKS you?   It might just start a spark in us too.

I was thinking this morning about how Christmas kind of wakes up the child in us……we talk a lot with others about Christmas memories – things that stand out about Christmases of the past – particularly when we were kids.   I have tons of memories of Christmas but can’t seem to recall a lot of “normal/non-Christmas” type memories.    Funny how the brain plays tricks on us.   Anyway, I found this quote and it SPEAKS to the child in me and my thoughts of excitement at Christmas to this day……..maybe it will speak to you too?

Oh I love this one.    I hope you do too……………………..I don’t care if I’m 72 – I intend to be a big old kid at Christmas……………….why break a 72 year tradition????

Love, Pam

P.S.   What’s a Monday Sparks post without a reminder from Teddy (oops – I mean PROFESSOR Teddy) that tomorrow is TUESDAY TEASER.    Remember it’s going to pop up at a surprise time THEN you have to visit the blog, behave yourself in class, and check out the photo of some mystery spot in the world and be FIRST to tell Professor Teddy WHERE the photo was taken!    Oh boy.   Always fun!

We obviously just celebrated Thanksgiving and now we have the “countdown” to Christmas.    A season of giving……………giving is something that can make you feel EVER so good – watching someone’s expression when they open a gift is a gift in itself!     I spent some time reading over MANY quotes about giving……….then I found this one and it spoke to me:

I had to think about it for a minute too……….which is the kind of quote I enjoy.   One that makes you really think.    I actually believe someone TOLD this to me some years ago – maybe it took a little bit of time for me to “get it”.

Happy Monday!   Hugs, Pam

Angel Sammy and Teddy would be upset if I didn’t remind you that tomorrow is Teaser Teaser class…….the post will pop into your inbox at a surprise time then it’s all systems go!

Also today is the three year mark of the day that my precious boy Sammy left for the Bridge.   We miss him more than we can express.   Always will.

SPARK on Monday

Standard

It’s Monday and time for our SPARK of the week.    SPARKS on Monday is the idea of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader blog.    Annie is taking a well deserved break but those of us who love the idea of sharing something positive and adding a little “SPARK of light” to the world each week are continuing the tradition she began.    The idea is sharing a thought, photo, idea, quote, that might start our week and everyone else’s week off on a high note – maybe one we can keep with us all week!

Today is HUG YOUR CAT DAY – not that everyone would know that but as a lover of cats, and someone who has always loved them whether they were mine or someone else’s (!), I have a quote today which is a combination of a powerful spark and an expression of my appreciation of felines.    I also think it’s an adorable “poster” – the cat smile in the picture makes me smile and that is the whole idea behind the quote.    Sometimes if WE smile and keep that smile on our faces, others can’t help but smile back – and there’s absolutely NOTHING wrong with that – right?

I happen to think that the way the world sees US can be inspirational – see someone smile and you might smile back and someone could see YOUR smile and smile and pass it on…..and so on and so on………maybe it would be a happier place if we all had a smile on our face?

Happy Monday

Hugs (and smile) Pam
